No indian personality ever tried to conquer anything outside india ever. Chandragupta was responsible for the expulsion of the leftover greeks from india. He united india under one empire followed by Ashoka the great after him. Alexander was a war monger who wanted the whole world. But even he knew that in india defeat is inevitable and wisely turned back. Arrian's greek prospective obviously portrays him as near god and blames everything on the weather and desease and crap.

Good theory Thessalonik1. I also notice that Alexander always advanced & never retreated. He never trotted the same path twice, his entire journey was an exploration as well as a conquest. Which is probably why he brought naturalists, botanists, & philosophers with him throughout his campaign in Asia.
