  • I'm sorry for something I didn't do.

I killed somebody but I don't know who.

You blame me for slavery 100 years before I was born

I'm Guilty of Being White (x2)

I'm guilty of a racist crime,

I've only served 19 years of my time.

Sums up the whole idea of what the songs about... misinformed conceptions about racism. Black or white, there's still people who don't get it. Racism works both ways. Wish that people would just get on with their lives, without having to denigrate someone for their skin

  • Ian wrote this song about basically being a minority, because where he went to middle school and high school it was 75-80% blacks, many of whom were racist towards whites. It's pretty straight-forward actually if you just read the fucking lyrics lol

  • Im black & im a huge Minor Threat fan. Anyone who thinks this song or the band are racist are Fu*king "tards". Ian MacKaye is a lyrical genius & Minor Threat along with Bad Brains changed my way of thinking & outlook on life.

  • @hateplow79 To quote a song by another hardcore band: "Assimilate into a culture of post-morality/ From what I've seen, I hate humanity." Couldn't agree with you more.

  • Fuck Chris Rock Up His Hollywood Rectum!!!!

  • One great anti-racist song! One great hardcore band! Even today!

  • I think its about the price of rice in China. Anyone heard the SLAYER version? Pretty badass.

  • White man, come, took it all

  • I'm black & i'm a Minor Threat

  • he was singing about his high school experience because he went to an all black high school and had a hard time

  • minor threat kicks so much ass god damnit

  • that's me!

  • ian is a fucking genius

  • I set this to 240p resolution to get the genuine experience.

  • The thing that makes people racist, is common to all humans, and produced from the evolved necessity to generalise. For instance if a bee stings you, its safe to assume all bees sting; therefore avoid bees. Unfortunately its when this logic is applied in a social context it easily becomes racism.

  • @BuzzTeddyHead Woah, very profound man. Much props on that

  • this song could be used for all minorities!

  • This was originally guilty of being right before someone screwed up the cover version of it, right??

  • @korpsefck nope.

  • who cares? ALL humans suck ass.. and thats coming from a 20 year skinhead. everybody sucks in general

  • @hateplow79

Focusing on specific race ignores the larger problem of humanity in general.

  • @hateplow79 sharp right??

  • Comment removed

  • @hateplow79 I couldn't agree more with you

  • 2012 motherfucker

  • @gunslingr100 none of 2012 is real dumbass that is a big fake myth that the world is going to end. all it is a solor eclipese that happens every 144,000 years, and the world is still here so your stupid for following the crowd about that bullshit dude

  • @rocker8533 dude what was that for

  • we are all equally worthless

  • you can call anything a nigger. I seat belt, a person. a bag that rips,

its much like the word fuck.

    fucked, fucker, fucking, fucking nigger.

they go together man let the English language shine man stop being a bitch nigger.

  • This song is about white privilege, and the uselessness of white guilt. I'm not lying, i've read a lot about race theory (people like bell hooks and that) it just sounds a lot like that. LMAO when slayer covered it and said "guilty of being white , guilty of being right" and minor threat got angry because they turned the song racist.

  • straight edge punks!!!!

  • Just saw a picture of Hayley Williams performing with a Minor Threat shirt on... I wept.

  • Slayer did a pretty good cover of this!

  • @BigMetalMikeK the original is better

  • YEAH HIGHEST RATED CONMMET BITCHES

  • Are these guys racist? Usually hardcore bands are pretty chill, but I guess these guys aren't. I was never able to get into minor threat because of this song and because of straight edge. I think Ian MacKaye might be a stuck up dude.

  • @normtheclone they arent racist. this is an anti-racist song

  • @normtheclone No they are just saying why should someone who was not born in the 1840s apologise for slavery. Im white and proud and my girl is Sikh and of Indian heritage and she loves minor threat and fugazi. People who play the race card are usually racists like the KKK and the nation of Islam and their dirty ideas.

  • @ZombieAstro2663 Oh well, in that case, I can agree with them.

  • @ChrisBBeats1 yesss. I dont know if youve seen it, but in the movie american hardcore, he talks about how its actually anti racist.

  • it makes me sick that this song has been taken up as like a "white power" anthem to some absolute morons. LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. this song isn't for white people, its not for black people. its for intelligent people who are sick of living with subhuman trash and having to deal with their bullshit on a day to day basis.

  • Black men are inspired to be proud of who they are, as soon as a white man says it its racist and other white people are the first to run their mouths?

  • @superdanimalx its reverse discrimination these days.brown prides ok,black prides ok and white prides taboo? there black entertainment television, and half my channels are in spanish but god forbid if i started a white entertainment television.sleep on that and get back to me...

  • @slightlystoopider559 I have been trying to sleep on it and it just makes me lose sleep:/ I get sick of it. The phrase Reverse Racism. or reverse discrimination is just retarded. It shouldjust be racism and discrimination; Right? Its a bad time trying to make it as a poor white person cause it feels the whole world is against me. I cant get the breaks, free education, or any of the options the rest of the world has offered to them

  • I agree with this song's message. I am not racist, far from it, but some blacks accuse me of being a racist just because of the color of my skin. Funny how they all can call whites "crackers", "honkeys" and stuff, but when someone calls them the n-word, they get offended.

  • @raphater2000 n-word? you mean nigga?

  • @be4ter93 I didn't want my comment to be flagged so I didn't bother writing it out.

  • @raphater2000 fuck ya dude i toataly agree and thats why im racist..every nigger ive ever met has stole somthing from me mistook somthing i sed or just asumed i was racist and it pisses me off

  • @raphater2000 right, and since was cracker and honky used to oppress whites? Cos it aint. People rarely say honky, its so old. N-word has been used since slavery times to put blacks down. I'm sorry but to say that white people are as racially oppressed as blacks or latinos or whatever is stupid. You are the most privileged, rich, powerful group of people in the USA and the west.

I wish Malcolm X was still alive *sigh*

For the record I think the n-word and cracker are both terrible, and sad.

  • @ladylusciouz That so fucking stupid.

A black guy gets 100x the benefits and help that a white person does in America.

I live in what we call here "The North End", I walk outside and get called racist names by black people, to say that blacks don't oppress whites when they're the majority in the situation is bullshit.

  • this song isn't about white power, instead this about the prejudice that some blacks have on whites. for example some think that all whites are rascist. IM BLACK AND I APROVE THIS!!!!

  • @mrelisamuel intelligent people are the true minority

  • @mrelisamuel you approve the stereotype that whites are racists? XD

  • @IAINoodle no, im sorry. what i meant is that i aprove this song, i don't find it offensive :)

  • @mrelisamuel haha i know dude i was just being a cleg

  • @mrelisamuel I agree. I think you should watch the maury show.

Am I racist because I can hear the color of your skin in your voice, or are you racist because you allow yourself to become a stereotype? Take a look at my shoes? Why? Let me see your grill? Why? You have to buy things to gain value as a person, like car rims and dental devices, and shoes. Why?

    So whos racist?

  • @mrelisamuel Wow! Your not like most black people!

  • @ReptarSickness alot of my black freinds do get along with whites , al least where do i live :)

  • it's so funny that under every fucking video there has to be someone that SHOULDN'T have his own opinion but he/she still has it :D crap... and oh....great song =)

  • i wish commenting was disabled on every video cause every jerk with stick up their ass has to leave some comment to start an argument and piss everyone off. it really bums me out

  • well this is awkward... I got here from a video on how to make weed cookies.

  • great song and yes you can be labelled guilty for being white as much for being black, grow up people what is there to dislike?

  • fuck racist

  • They went to a school where the majority of the students were black. They got tired of getting their asses kicked and this song is about that. That's how most black people are, they hate white people and will torment them at their advantage......

  • @Serpo71 yes, my highschool is about 20% white. now YOU are the minority and theyll get back for what their parents white bosses and white politicians did to fuck them over.

  • @WaltDisneyisracist so? Its not like you own the country?! What right do you have to be in the majority? America was the land of the natives. Its not yours.

  • he's talking about how he went to a school with only a few white kids and that apparently he's automatically racist just because he's white. If you ask me all of the people commenting on here about how this song is racist are the exact kind of people MacKaye wrote this song against.

  • Slayer's version is better.

  • @hagnuj

They're both awesome versions but I prefer Minor Threat better.

  • i have this shirt and every time i wear it i get ask to take it off because its offensive to black people when will they learn that all skin heads arent racist

  • @chiller997 Totally agree with you, happens to me as well.

  • @chiller997 Unfortunately I doubt they ever will..

  • @chiller997

Tell the niggers to mind their own fucking business and stop being so goddamned sensitive to every little thing.

  • @chiller997 Why are you asked to take it off? Minor Threat has nothing to do with being a skinhead, racist etc.

  • @chiller997 you gotta teach them

  • @chiller997 Don't lower your standards for nobody! If they don't understand it, it's not important to them. I had a similar experience with my Independent long sleeve shirt with the Indy crosses all down the arms and on the back when I was in HIgh School. I was confronted by blacks that my shirt is racist. I told them "If your gonna accuse me of racial hatred, at least get your symbols of hate correct." It's just ignorance, I explained it and never had a problem again. Deny Ignorance!

  • @thepupils209 fuck ya dude indy is my faverout truck brand they grind so well

  • @chiller997 When will they learn that all skinheads aren't racist? Maybe when you start learning what racism actually means.

  • @chiller997 Im good buddies with a black man that was bron and raised in Venice,CA who's ALL about S.H.A.R.P. He's got the boots and all, and he's WAY more of a punk/anarchist than all the other fascist pigs I've ever met.

  • @chiller997 depends what's on it XD if it says fuck all jungle monkeys then ur gonna get in trouble, and rightly so i reckon haha

  • @chiller997

I'm black, and I fucking endorse you brother!

  • @chiller997 that is one of the dumbest things ive ever read.

  • Whiny privileged people get boring fast.

  • @alissewonder: How are you "privileged" when you are stuck in a lousy neighborhood? Fuck that.

  • Short sweet and ridiculous

  • i hate all the races equally

  • @shadylurker138 hate heals

  • @shadylurker138 Hell Yeah..... I even hate myself!

  • I fucking love this song and im black!

  • @biskit460 SAME DUUUDE!!

  • Wow, people see the word "white" and all this racist bullshit pops in their head. Grow the fuck up. Listen and watch some of Minor Threat's shows and songs.

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M SORRY

  • punk was never alive. people were alive. punks were alive. there are still punks today. that means its still around.

  • the sorry ass blacks will always be haters

  • @guapojnva1 and people wonder...

  • @guapojnva1 way to generalize asshole.

  • @guapojnva1 are you effing serious? shut it.

  • @RavenOctober616 That documentary gave me a massive understanding if the original hardcore shit! :P

  • WHITE POWER!!!!

  • @ANTITANE YEA, GO ON AND SUPPORT YOUR STUPID FUCKING "MASTER RETARD" RACE

    fucking faggot...

  • @Jerkycrane ANTIFA HAHAHAAAAA

  • WHITE POWER!!!!!

  • The song wasnt meant to be racist just expressing the feelings thats wut musics all about rite?!?!?!

  • Minor Threat thumb UP

  • It proves how stupid nazis are when they think this is a nazi song *facepalm*

  • I only found about this band cos Slayer covered this song, lol.

Sounds good tho. Punky as hell.

  • its not a racist song, but if it was i couldnt give a fuck. Its ok for gangsta rappers slag off whites, but when whites slag off blacks every fucker screams "racist" Im not racist myself, but im sure not a pc prick either. Fuck that shit!!!!

  • @marvelousmarvin71 So if a black guy was to be racist towards a white guy, would that mean the white guy would be entitled to be racist back? Of course not, the black guy would being a dick for being racist and the white guy should know that it's wrong to act that way, and vice versa.

  • @Szaam Well im glad that you said the black man would be a dick for being racist!(or vice versa). What im saying is that when a black person does it, no one blinks an eyelid, but if a white person does it every one jumps on the pc bandwagon. That is very wrong.

  • ahhh the good old days, when people strived to have meaning in their music not just to be "idols" and make $ :p

  • I'm sorry For something I didn't do Lynched somebody But I don't know who You blame me for slavery A hundred years before I was born Guilty of being white I'm a convict Of a racist crime I've only served 19 years of my time Guilty of being white
  • loook at me! im straight edge! i can spell! "GUILTY!"

  • @tooluberallem nice1 but its spelt gultee dontcherknow (>;)

  • @tooluberallem HAHAHAHAHA!!! nice

  • Why is everyone talking about racism? This song isnt racist. Look up the lyrics. Hes just saying stop blameing white people for slavery when most people (like them) weren't even born during slavery.

  • @RitzDaCracker1 Why I love this song.

  • Guilty of being right

  • dimwits, listen to the lyrics and acknowledge what the song and band are about

  • White Power!!!

  • @Kurplutzo fuck you

  • @thecrazyjewishkid shut it, you white suburban poser ass...fuckheads like you make me want to not listen to shit anymore. Back to college little bitch

  • @Kurplutzo Poser? What am I posing as? Go back to the trailer park you racist prick.

  • @thecrazyjewishkid ok Beeber

  • @Kurplutzo Are you commenting on my hair? What does that even have to do with this?

  • @Kurplutzo

Anyone with an ounce of intelligence would know this song is anti-racism, not another aryan anthem.

  • @Markforall great. another anti-racism song. I'm starting to believe racism doesn't even exist.

  • @spongevision What? I'm white, I'm the only person currently employed in my family and I live in a shitty house, in a shitty part of my city. Go fuck yourself.

  • Skrewdriver and Fortress are better.

  • OMG this is like saying the word "black" then people would blare out " YOUR A RACIST!!" this song is what i would i would call a "hypocritical statement."

    PUNK STILL LIVES!!

    GO MINOR THREAT!!

....and dont get offended, im black :P

  • @Jerkycrane Maybe "punk still lives" in your heart & mind, which is great, but it really died a huge death in 85-86. Everything after, well, watch the movie "American Hardcore" and you'll understand. Written and performed by those who created & lived hardcore punk, they explain it at the end much better than I can. I recommend this movie wholeheartedly to any who love punk music. It contains the vital history of hardcore punk in America, a really, really awesome & landmark production.

  • @ProChoiceJesus punk is not dead. go to a show, a co-op, or a protest. read maximumrocknroll. DIY ethics and the punk scene in general are are alive and well across the globe son.

  • @ProChoiceJesus hardcore punk died by punk rock still lives. kind of hard to kil la genre of music.

  • @skatelongboards Just the fact that you make a distinction between "hardcore punk" and "punk rock" makes me think you don't really get it at all.

  • @chemtrailstacoma2011 acutely i do get it. im just tired of people saying punk rock is dead. no music genre can die. their are still bands that play punk rock like the ramones, or the descendents or even one of my favorite bands of the era screeching weasel.

ever listened to country music of the 70s? doesn't sound much like country music of today or the 90s. music evolves.

  • @ProChoiceJesus I agree with you to a certain extent. It has never gone through the commercialization in other countries as it has in the U.S. It's still just as d.i.y. as American punk was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. More so when you consider the a lot of the social and religious constraints in some other countries as opposed to the much more relaxed in comparison American culture.

  • @Jerkycrane me too! what a kawinkydink!

  • @Jerkycrane

Ya! and the rest of em are mexicans!

  • @Jerkycrane right on man

  • @Jerkycrane ABLOCK PERSON THAT LIKES MINOR THREAT :o

  • The battle is the rich vs. the poor... the greatest fear of the rich is the poor uniting. So the major corporations that they run put out commercials and advertisements glorifying certain people causing the other person to envy them... Racism is only one of the many social distortions amongst the poor... anyone who succumbs to it is a fool.

  • lets not fight on youtube and bring it to the circle pit! oi! oi! oi!

  • WP

  • @spongevision

What is this "white privilege" you speak of?

Can you please explain this to me?

  • @WildKatWays nymbp.org/reference/WhitePrivilege.pdf

  • @spongevision: My ass. Anyone who buys into that communist crap needs to get lost.

  • @spongevision

Haha that shit's a joke and you're pathetic for believing it.

  • right on! let's just abolish racism all together. the only race is the human race!!

  • @superdudex6 i am with you bro

  • @superdudex6 and elves, dont forget the elves.

  • @superdudex6 WHITE POWER

  • @superdudex6 what about Nascar Races , Drag Races, Bike Races, Boat Races, Foot Races, Horse Races and those cute lil Dog Races?

  • most were really racist to black people in the past and it was very obvious now most are racist towards white people and its still really obvious but people try not to see theyre socially conditioned

  • reverse slavery is my game but its been on the flip for a while and its back to black

  • 58 people are green day fans

  • @thatxboxguy120 bitch, im a green day fan, there my favorite band, and i like this band

  • lol im white and it does suck cause your always the racist asshole even though im not racist

  • All of you people think this is racist are missing the point and are dumb and should die. If you had any sense you would realise its never really been about race genuinely, but rather about economic gain and power. For example during the slave trade it was Africas own people who SOLD people into slavery. Modern times as this song points out, it racism against white even by other whites (i.e. favoristism etc.) for gain.

  • @nihilisticpunk24 You say "All of you people think this is racist are missing the point and are dumb and should die." then go on to say "Modern times as this song points out, it racism against white". So does this mean you are dumb and should die?

Well let me put it this way, Just based off your comment I know you are dumb, but I'll let others decide if you should die, I'm no executioner.

  • Listen here you dumbfuck, i'm no executioner either but i bet if i saw you on a street somewhere i'd STILL decide when you would die. That would likely be then and there. The whole point that i am making is that this song isn't being "racist" in the traditional sensse neither is it racist at all. In times past, each time someone white was accused of being racist, usually it was them being accused of exhaulting themselves over another race perse'. This song does none of that. Now die bitch.

  • @nihilisticpunk24 wow again really? You say :"i'm no executioner either" then "i'd STILL decide when you would die". By the way I'm, and I'd are spelled with a capital I not a lowercase i. congratulations on making a fool of your self again. By the way I never said anything about this song saying one thing or the other, I just pointed out your retarded mistake. :P

  • @theMW2ninja Since you want to play the role of a youtube grammar teacher, I'll first start off by informing you that you capitalized "Just" in your first comment after a comma. That gives indication that you are just angry because i proved you wrong, so you do what most people do on the internet...whine about gramatical errors. What are you going to do next? Bitch and complain that society says "LOL" and that their are tons of people who became rich off of slag or improper english.

  • @theMW2ninja You also sound like an ignorant bitch whinning about grammar on a punk video, a genre of music known to use improper spellings and speech. Also the point of me saying I'm not an executioner but still deciding when you would die was to point out that I AINT GOTTA BE NO EXCUTIONER TO DECIDE WHEN U DIE! JUST LIKE I AINT GOTTA BE NO HUSBAND TO YOUR MOTHER TO DECIDE IF I WANNA FUCK THAT BITCH OR NOT. How do you like that grammar and ideaology, bitch?!

  • @nihilisticpunk24 wow the last time I saw or heard someone talk like that was when I kicked some jr. high kids ass a few days ago. If your not an executioner then what does deciding when people die make you?

  • White Power

  • Who ever told this guy he could sing? His mom?

  • @captainblewhard Whoever told you you were funny? Your grandmother?

  • @Disturbed2102 No. The only thing my grandma encouraged me to do was to keep taking my meds.
