  • flamethrower

  • wtf did u pour in it it went all crazy then turned off

  • @brushlessmicrot He just put water in it, if you put water in burning fat it generates a huge flame because of the expanding water vapour.

  • @nicolasabbadini and then it turns it off lol

  • super mini nuke? :D

  • I DO, I DO, I SAY!

  • I like to coat my lithium batteries in a light breading.....delicious

  • If you bought the battery from ASDA or Walmart return it and demand a refund. :)

  • A number of people seem to think that green waxy plants will catch fire and burn when there is a fire half a metre away. Why?

  • wtf did u pore on the fire

  • bloody hell fucking good video !! check out some of my videos !!

  • Holy shit dude there was bushes beside that fire...

  • Always use a wet towel - LOL!

  • That tree is awfully close.....

  • Carbon tax for you...LOL.

  • 2:30 I see hell!

  • wtf

  • Do only British people blow up car batteries?

  • 2:31 = Epic Mushroom Cloud

  • now do that Tesla...

  • good now I'm gonna kill some1

  • dont try this at home!! make it at school..

  • nuke at 2:30

  • Reminds me of that Star Trek show where they're fighting the doomsday weapon.

  • Lol he's trying to extinguish a flamme in a fat fryer with water ...

Chemistry First Lesson Never do this execpt u wanna see a big flame :D

  • english bastards ... ><'

  • more man

  • Good to see youngsters learning science.

  • nice for the environment

  • les voisins?la police?

  • that's what comes out my ass when I eat too much jalapenos.

  • By the way, hydrofluoric acid is not only highly corosive but also highly toxic. Fluorine gas is also a common product of hydrofluoric acid reactions with metals and things. So if you want to carry out this experiment, do it in a well ventilated outdoorsy place and make sure you aren't downwind, or carry it out in a fumehood like I do.

I get to do this every week (minus the fire part). I love my job.

  • Batteries have the following goodies:

Lithium metal (not often anymore, is the best anode though) which reacts explosively with water to produce hydrogen and burns violently, or graphite which is flammable, as the Anode electrode.

Typically LiPF6 electrolyte salt that produces hydroFLUORIC acid and hydrogenon contact with water.

The electrolyte solvent, which is highly flammable (the stream of fire you see was this solvent venting and burning)

Remember, don't breath the gases ;)

  • /!\ do not try this at home, try it at school, on da teachers chair

  • A friend and i discovered this same thing using a cast-iron skillet with a burning mixture of melted candles and lighter fluid. Except we didn't have a spray bottle--we just spit in it and jumped back.

  • Please don't breed

  • fucking hell man you people cannot be THAT STUPID he was freaking heating up some kind of OIL and poored in WATER! woooow you people amaze me! lets see how many haters i can get!

  • was that the battery that made the explosion out the side

  • Put some water into it too, preferably a sealed can of coke. THEN RUN!!! .... BOOM = FIREBALL!!!

  • got flamethrower, looks like a yes

  • this looks like a good idea

  • My God!!!! Am I carrying such kind of battery in my cellular phone inside my pocket, and the worst, beside my balls?

  • @newhuskytwenty The last explosion is only due to water dropped in burning oil...

And if you were caught in the same fire than this battery, not sure this would be your bigger problem

  • that battery been charged with assault

  • Me:Dad can i just put something on the fryer

    Dad:Sure sun

    Me:*puts battery on the fryer*

    Me:Just stand there

Dad:Uhh am i supposed to do something-

    BOOM

  • Nice i should cook me up a battary :D

  • Nice mushroom flame!

  • water usually snit good for fryer fires

  • i prefer nicads

  • set down his beer before dumping on the gas save the booze

  • Next time some country needs a nuke for whatever reason, they can skip nuclear crap and just load up a capsule with cellphone batteries and small explosives...

  • awesome!

  • i think you have a grease fire

  • Bigger battery!!!!

  • @MrUponthyuponwhat what about A car battery lol :)

  • @Hvdragonproduction tractor battery :D

  • @Hvdragonproduction lol it wud be amazing but 1 problem if you want to die do it because car batteries contain sulphuric acid which is very dangerous and wen in contact with fire the casing splits open and acid will spray all over you and your neighbours back garden and the other neighbours dog lol and it doesn't have li-ion power cells. with sulphuric acid flying out of it....... y dont u use hydroflouric acid the most dangerous acid in the world can burn through anything safety 1st

  • @Hvdragonproduction well most car batteries have lead electrodes, why not the biggest lithium battery you can find, and toss it into a pot of boiling water?

  • @Hvdragonproduction boooooriiing XD

  • @Hvdragonproduction sad a car battery wouldn't work as nicely ,cuz they're not make of lithium polymer for the most part....

  • @Hvdragonproduction i work on a forklift producer, our batteries weigh 1800 pounds =)

  • @Hvdragonproduction Try throwing a car battery from some high place... Boom!

  • @Hvdragonproduction A nuke.

  • Too bad I tossed the battery from my iPhone 3G what died 2 years back!

  • That was EPIC!!, :P

  • Now you know why you don't throw water on a grease or oil fire in your kitchen.

  • Man if that's not an impression you sound uncannily like Photonicinduction. If it is, good job, spot on!

Also, awesome experiment. Excellent demonstration of why they always say not to chuck water on chip pan fires lol.

  • @ShokaLion No it was not an impression of Photonicinduction lol.

  • Nice PhotonicInduction tribute.

  • fucking crazy *thumbs up*

  • That was so beautiful

  • its like a mini nuke

  • like if you saw this because photonicinduction liked it ;)

  • so electric cars will burn better then gasoline based cars i guess :+)

  • @shintsu01 I believe that the tesla roadster has laptop based batterie system so it will burn better than gasoline and lithium reacts with water so by by car lol

  • @Hvdragonproduction

Just a question of time and we will see one burn. Or some of us.

I like in the Tesla that it's induction motor driven btw. Copper bars in the rotor FTW!

  • @Hvdragonproduction Partially right, I work at Tesla, the cells are extremely safe but naturally if you intentionally try to blow them up they will. In a car accident they are designed to vent and have many safety features that would prevent an explosion (you can google those). The battery system has no similarities with a laptop battery other than both use a lithium based compound.

  • imagine this with macbook with 4 lipol batteries :D

  • Flamethrower :D

  • Don't put water on an oil fire!!!

  • @davidrobert2007 Why ever not lol.

  • @davidrobert2007 or on alkali metals:P

  • rotten land in his garden xD

  • Woooo! Nice little battery pop, there! :-D Fantastic little flame thrower. :-D

I hit the 'Like' button for this one.

.....And of course, at the end we see why it is dangerous to put out oil fires with water. WHOOOOOMPH! Massive mushroom cloud of fire!!

    -BoomBoxDeluxe.

  • Damn, that was one hell of a flame thrower in a tiny package! That thing packed some punch!

  • that was so awsome that it looked like a special effect

  • Is it new years ewe already? :P

  • Awesome! Imagining my laptop with 8 lithium cells... or cell phone going up in flames in my fucking pocket! and many other things can do the same or even worse..

  • @filipkof Yes its A scary thought that lithium cells are used in allot of things like laptops and phones and more.

  • @Hvdragonproduction Li-Po(iphone,ipad,rc heli) cells are even more dangerous that Li-Ion, they can easily **DETONATE** not just throw flames

  • No warnings about deep frying lithium battery's.. You forgot to dip it in batter mix tho.
