  • great cook learn a lot watching his vids as he teaches you the technique not the recipe.

he looks kind of chunky in this vid,

  • I wonder how much he made by just saying those brands

  • @humpingbird He earned nothing. Why should everything be advertisment? Why can't he recommend or EVEN MENTION some of the bottles he used back in the days, things that are familiar to everyone?

  • woah, like 15 endorsements there :P

  • dinner partys are gay

  • @UKGUYDOWN Scum dine with me!

  • Really love Marco in the way that he is.

But some of these clips are just hints of commercial-ish, the bottle of whatever it was, feels like he gave the whole talk about his life, and then the commercial bit comes in, I don't know, hope that this really was about his book and nothing else.

    Same with knorr.

Seen the episode of Cooking with Marco in Harveys where he said "Don't ever ask me to sell my heart" to the interviewer? sorry but Knorr spoiled a lot for me.

    Still love him though.

  • @Daazbee

But he hasn't sold his heart. He's doing exactly what his heart tells him to do now, which is share the simplicity and inspiration of cooking while looking after his family financially.

The other day I followed his recipe for quick home-made herbed lamb chops, and I can say categorically that it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten.

He's always said he used bottles and stock cubes in the kitchen.

  • "In a strange way, I enjoy cooking food at home now more than I did in my restaurants"

    LOL, no shit :P

I've loved cooking food for years. Started a couple of months ago in a restaurant trying to do too much for it's own good and I absolutely hate it.

  • This man inspired me to put on an apron and start cooking. If I go anywhere with my knife, I owe it all to him.

  • @souldude81 if u go anywere with ur knife lol please dont go on a killing spree he wont be happy nowing u owed it all to him lol (nah he is a great insperational chef )

  • @souldude81 Marco is a huge inspiration to me too man..along with Keller,Achatz, Novelli ,Ramsay, and Robuchon.....I feel if you follow the greats you can go far if you set your sights high enough...This gets a thumbs up from me!

  • @souldude81 You should use it to cut yourself then you silly little ponce prick

  • @ihatemuckdjs bla bla bla

  • @souldude81 i know since he became famous he talks like a philosophy professor, you are a cook you twat, shout your mouth and go cook my fish and chips

  • @hallnoats4ever Bla bla bla bla.

  • A man of concepts and conviction. He is a true artist.

  • I'm glad Marco has calmed down. The way he was going in his youth if he hadn't calmed down he'd be dead now.

  • @afterapplepicking I totally agree with you. Have you watched the shows from the late 80s? When he was running Harvey's as a manic 28 year old. Albert Roux summer it up perfectly in one of the episodes saying "Marco is a young man running at a thousand miles per hour and my only concern for him, is that he can pace himself"

I'm pretty sure Marco had a nervous breakdown at some point though, and he is in my opinion a genius, a mad man. We're so lucky to have a chef like him though, he's the man.

  • @SethHesio Indeed.

  • @SethHesio I don't think he had a nervous breakdown, he just reached the highest of the high and held the culinary world in the palm of his hand, and then had no where else to go. He already revolutionized the culinary world, and he achieved a combination of awards that no one else has gotten up to this day. He said it himself that he was tired of being judged by people(Michelin) who knew less than he did, so he gave his stars back because he was tired of it all.

  • @SethHesio And we should actually thank his ex-wife Mati for coming up with the idea of giving back the stars. It's funny how history repeats itself, I mean if you think back all those years ago, Marco stood at the top, and then destroyed the Michelin institution's foundations by giving his stars back. Now, in modern day France, a whole lot of great chefs serving great food have turned their back on the Michelin guide, forsaking all the fancy shit and focusing on the food alone.

  • @Zephilindrum That needed to happen, and it makes perfect sense.
