It really doesn't matter what the hardness of a wheel. I personal can slide with a 76a sector 9 downhill wheel. It does make it easier but i can still pull out 10ft standies.

Yes, of course. The higher the 'a', the less grippy, hence the more easier it is to slide. Wheels with durometers around 80a on the other hand, are more grippy, and can carve and downhill bomb well, though it doesn't mean sliding's impossible, they just have to be used a lot to break in.

Also, Durians have pre-broken lips so your high durometer and round lip shape will be very suitable for sliding.

I've done every bicycle path in GTA [Greater Toronto Area] and I thought SOuthern CALifonia would blow away the paths here, and was disappointed to find that SOCAL doesn't blow GTA away for Longboarding... At least not were I've been. The only thing is that we have winter here, and that knocks down skating time significantly. [If you live in Toronto, Canada BTW, always skate towards the lake. The elevation drop makes for less pushing.]

@MrVKCA I never go north. YUP. TTC it back. Backpack with Gatoraid, and bring along an FRS radio, so we can keep in touch up to 2km. It takes about 3 hours to do the 'Don' and about 5 hours to do the Humber. The Humber Bike Trail is 34km & Starts at Hwy 427 & Finch, at a loop. 43.44.07N & 79.37.30W on Google Earth. Goes through James Gardens, by Weston, underneath Old Mill Station, stops a bit, but finally merges with the Martin Goodman Trail, where we go east towards downtown.

@zackz22 Dude, I own an Apex 37 carbon, and the first Apex 37. They are both great boards. I have also owned a dervish in the past but it is flexier. I have yet to bottom out the Apex 37 carbon middle weight. I weigh 185 pounds. Even with the Apex being stiffer you can still spring out of carves, causing speed checks. Go Original.

So basically just go ride, do some hard carves, maybe a couple slides and stuff until your wheels slide smoothly with not much chatter or no chatter at all.
