  • This is why he didn't win, next to the other big reason he was part of the S&L Crisis in 1988. Also don't bank with Randolph Brooks FCU, the president and CEO Randy Micheal Smith donated $700 dollars to John McCain the same month this was aired. I however voted third party.

  • Owned

  • Mississippi is one of the best states in the nation?

    Sure coulda fooled me!

And... I fucking GREW UP in Mississippi! Hattiesburg, to be exact, and I know that it's one of the most fucked up states in the world!

  • God this guy is awesome.

The people of Arizona must be living on trees. There is no other explanation that they vote him into Senate each time.

  • this guy is disgusting... a true sociopath, basiclly we supports nothing but its own ambitions and his briends and says it right in peoples faces who he needs their votes, saying that in the face of a person who is in need is disgusting, in the end he says he will continue to support them but will not give them any money whatsoever... its like saying i support you, but just dont ask anything, how and can you vote for me? promise 100 years of war

  • *rolls eyes* Ah, McCain... you've done it again...

  • FUCK McCAIN!

  • I BET JOHN MCCAIN HAS FRIENDS OR

    SUPPORTERS WHO OWN NURSING

HOMES NOT TO SUPPORT THE C.C.A.

  • @wheelslarbac That is true, look up FEC campaign records!!!!

  • I HAVE A GREAT IDEA JOHN MCCAIN IS

OLD ENOUGH TO BE IN A NURSING

HOME. HE SHOULD BE PUT IN ONE

  • @wheelslarbac I agree, how soon can we commit him?

  • @willdav713 I agree , how soon can we get him commited to

a nursing home he is old enough for one.

  • @willdav713 In reference to wheelslarbac saying

let's put John McCain in a nursing home.

I agree, how soon can we commit him?

I will start looking for a nursing home to buy then

we can pull our money to buy the nursing home

then say McCain is unfit for office and needs to be

in a nursing home for seniors with dementia.

I will look for a home to buy for dementia seniors.

    how about that.

thumbs up if you and any other disabled agree.

  • Eat shit and die you fucking bastard! I have a disabled family member in my house and the Americans with Disabilities Act is a fucking JOKE!!!!!!!!!! We get $159/mo for my brother. That does not even cover the power bill. I have to work 3 jobs just to keep food on the table - literally. We can't get a wheelchair because that would be a "luxury". So, I guess my brother is supposed to scoot is ass around on the floor while McCain enjoys being rich from big oil. Fuck off McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tjcrabtree82. Big brother dude, DO U HAVE MORE 2 SAY? Being a quad-w/chaired guy 24yrs, i've seen u complainers who most likely have a lg income and just DON'T want to spend it. Now that i understand because the health-care costs are OUT RAGIOUS, and it hurts families! But don't tell me the State/fed won't supply him a w/chair, or his Medicare/Medicaid, and any SSI/SSD pays more than $159. mo. Liars just make things worst.

  • @2inchtube I just told @tjcrabtree82

about SSI and medicade and section 8

    and senior housing.

The most likely reason he is not getting

anything is because he living with rich

family and the brother must go to a

homeless shelter , asking for SSI

and section 8 housing or a nursing

home, they will take care of him

  • @tjcrabtree82 I AGREE MCCAIN SUCKS

About you brother have you heard of SSI

it pays $674. a month and he can apply

for section 8 and senior housing,

where rent is 30% of ones income.

SSI comes with medicade so they

    will buy a manual wheelchair

  • Thank you Americans, for not voting this guy into the White House, you guys are awesome:3

  • this is why this loser isn't the president of the united states

  • Didn't Ross Perot pay for his first wife's extensive medical bills while he was out adulterating with a girl whose wealth is supplied by a sea of alcoholics?

  • Lotsa flamewars in here.

Obama is marginally better than McCain.

Both of their stances on medical care are badly flawed, but this video is more disgusting than the one of the man who gets his head stuck in the elephant's butt.

  • typical beaureaucratic response; he doesnt deal with the issue at all, doesnt mention his alternatives to institutionalism because he has none...glad to have the questioned asked tho and available to be seen by our comeunity?

  • McCain = asshole

  • id rather a politians be blunt like this than beat around the bush

  • mccain did not dis that women from disabilty. l bama mad fun of the disabeled

  • Well I have to give him props for not lying, but really Mccain? That was cold. You could have worked a little harder to put her down easier!

  • I new mccain was dumb but i didn't know he was evil.

How could he reject that woman like that?

  • JOHN MCCAIN SUCKS!!!! OBAMAAAAAA!!!

  • Fuck this asshole, Thank god this fucker didnt win.

  • mccain was a prisnor of war. he was a war hero. he a great person. hes a much better perrson to everyone who hates him. fuck all the asswholes who hate mccain fuck alll the assholes who call him racistt. u think hes racist im me at cooldudechri and tell me ho hes racist.

  • John McCain is a hero in his own right, that doesnt mean he is fit to run a country. Depriving the sick of their medication is simply ridiculous, you must see that. I'm sure hes a nice guy, but the fact is he would have just caused another 4 years, of Bush's failed policies.

I'm not even going to dignify your last two sentences with a response, 1 because your poor grammer tells me you are a functional moron, and 2 because I honestly dont understand. I never said John McCain is a racist?

  • Wow..how rude of him

  • John McCain go fuck yourself!!!!

  • asswhole asswhole asswhole

  • Over the years, I've become quite conscious of disability rights and issues, as I'm primary caregiver to my best friend Michelle. There is NO way on God's green earth that she would EVER want to live in a nursing home, nor should ANY person with a disability be forced to do that. Let them choose to live with appropriate care in their OWN homes, like anybody else. It's the right thing to do, and attendant care is far cheaper than paying for nursing home care.

  • As a former nursing home worker, I've seen first hand the quality of care that the residents receive. Let me tell you, it's really going down the tubes. We were very hard pressed to deliver the quality of care that we did at the time, with staffing problems and the like. We did the best we could under the circumstances ... con't ...

  • How did he disrespect her. You guys are stupid

  • your stupid, he resented people with disabilities to have equal rights as normal people

  • I'd like to see McCain & wife go bankrupt, lose their healthcare, lose their nest-egg, and then face disability without a dime. I wonder if he would think better about helping the disabled remain in their homes with their dignity intact then. McCain: Walk a freaking mile in our shoes for a change instead of those $500+ shoes you own now.

  • Even if this man did not agree with the woman,he acts if he resents her even ASKING the question!McCain is full of hate, just like the "Rev. Kane" in the Poltergeist movie!Brimming with hatred for some reason!

  • This is coming from an Obama supporter: I don't understand what the goal of this video is. He doesn't support the bill, he doesn't feel it is good for the country. Is he a monster for this, or something? As far as I'm concerned, making the federal government cater to every minority group, in this case the handicapped, is what has brought this country down in the first place. Her situation is unfortunate, but that is what state, local and private institutions are for. Thank you.

  • Oh, how the mighty will fall. Disability doesn't affect just a minority of people; it will affect us all, one way or another. But that isn't your problem, is it? I mean, if you can care for yourself that's all that matters, right? You don't have to worry about lying in your own urine for hours on end in a nursing home, right? Screw everyone else.

  • No. Thank you for being so defensive about it, but no. I view it as a social problem. I do not view it as something the federal government has to handle. Sorry this offends some sensibility you have, but treating me with disrespect will most CERTAINLY not change my mind.

  • So, people will provide access for the disabled, they will allow people to choose their own care when they have never had the luxury of working enough to provide for retirement all out of the goodness of their hearts? Because history has shown us how well that works out. Oh, wait...

  • Again, treating me with such disrespect by trying to make a point with sarcasm? Uncalled for. If you feel people won't provide for others out of the goodness of their hearts, you would rather force them to? At a federal level? We fundamentally disagree, and talking down to me is simply weakening your argument. Charities wouldn't exist if it weren't for people willing to give to programs that don't rely on the federal government. And there is always the state level to vote in legislation

  • Yet more proof that you have no idea what you're talking about and lack the compassion necessary to put yourself in someone else's shoes. The entire reason we have the ADA and Community Choice Act is because people do NOT do these things out of the goodness of their hearts. Apparently, that's ok with you. Again, the mighty will fall when disability makes itself known in your life. Good luck with that. Also, the CCA IS trying to fix what is already broken.

  • Alright. You're rude and accuse me of lacking compassion. Fair enough. Now, bring me some numbers, some proof, anything other than your half assed attempts to bring my arguments down with blanket statements. ANYTHING. If you're going to attack me personally, bring some proof, I BEG you. I will say, once again, I am not opposed to the idea of aid. I am opposed to bring it to a federal level, IN PARTICULAR because federal campaigns typically fail and there are simply larger issues to handle

  • for a macrogovernment. I personally believe ALL issues dealing with the people of this nation should be handled at the lowest. possible. level. of. government. If that is incompassionate, you simply don't understand what the word means. I'd prefer people get the help they need from state governments, and leave the big picture issues, war, diplomacy, etc at the national level. I'm tired of the attacks, I'm tired of you. You aren't defending your stance, just saying mine is wrong. Good bye.

  • that deals with people's money. An awkward tax system, a failing economy and historically poor federal program planning and execution suggest to me that, at least in our country's current state, trying to bring in new programs without fixing the old is a bad, bad idea. If you disagree, well, that is simply not something I'll budge on. Please keep in mind that there ARE people who will disagree with you that have well thought out reasons for their beliefs. Thank you.

  • Frankly no one has done enough to enforce or abide by the ADA.

  • I'm a member of ADAPT, and I can explain the CCA. There aren't any big loopholes in it that would hurt the American economy or medical system. It would in fact cut costs. On average it costs 1/3 of the amount to live in the community as opposed to a nursing home. And as far as us destroying offices in Columbus OH, there weren't any accessible bathrooms in STATE offices despite the ADA being passed. I think new carpets are a small price to pay for not complying with Federal Law.

  • Yes I see. So stuff the disabled people in with the aging. Lets see if John McCain would like to live in an over crowded understaffed nursing home:)Maybe that is where Palin's child will end up after she is gone. NO one lives forever.

  • Without the ADA, the OCR wouldn't exist and the tax sucking liberals would kick wheelchairs out from under the disabled for another statistic they could use to seduce OBama and his cohorts out of non-profit organaziation money. One fellow wheelchaired himself in the office because his step-child was taken away from children services, and they were making him go to abuse counseling the taxpayer shelled out $60 per session, 56 groups and $30 anger management groups.

  • Where's the (quote) "Dissing"? Looks like he repected her question and honestly answered it. Talk about 'dissing' - It's groups like ADAPT that do as they did in a Columbus, Ohio state office and destroyed the offices by urinating on the carpets as a protest. Why can't ADAPT people act civil? Instead most dress and act like folks who have no self-respect and give PWD's a bad name.

  • aw :( i feel bad for that lady. that must have been embarrassing. but i do see what you all are saying.

  • well for one he doesn't support it because he believes that the public would be paying for something the disabled to not need...but in reality it is CHEAPER if the choice act was to be passed. It makes no sense for anyone to deny the community choice act.

  • I don't get why this is "so bad". He doesn't agree with it, at least you know where he stands....Obama would probably do as he does so often and agree then and vote against later....

  • President-Elect Obama*

  • I'd like to see Obama explain why he didn't sign this letter, back in 2006, warning about the FannieMae-FreddieMac disaster.

tinyurl (dot) com/3q6dc9 (fix the "dot," obviously)

19 Republican Senators signed this warning. Not ONE Democrat signed it.

Why not, Obama? Just tell us.

Too busy cashing those six-figure FannieMae checks?

Or just too stupid to realize there was a BIG problem headed our way?

  • I am trying to think...does this Community Choice Act have some sort of horrible loopholes or something and THAT is why he doesn't support it. I mean, I am TRYING to be unbiased and give McCain the benefit of the doubt, but I gotta tell ya, he comes off like a complete Tool! An uncaring, insensitive tool...

  • I mean, I am trying to be unbiased here and look at this from all perspectives. Was the Community choice act full of clauses that allowed "disabled people get government paid shiatsus twice a week." then I can understand why he dismissed the Act. But he doesn't elaborate. He just completely gets cold and testy with this poor woman! But then, this is the man who HATES "disfigurement." Hence the reason he discarded his first wife.

  • What a freaken Chickenshit, did you see how he was running from her,So, she couldn't be near the mic for a follow up statement. What tird and he just announced on Sunday he will cut $1 Trillion from the Medicare budget. That would bankrupt the Medicare Budget aka he plans on getting rid of Medicare.

And he runs from disabled elderly women, this man is the worst kind of Coward, he can't even take a question from a sickly elderly woman

    Douche bag McLame

I bet he wanted to call her a "cunt" too

  • St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh moved to St. Joseph,MI just over 10 years ago and he has banned the Veterans and senior citizens at the Housing Commission from cable TV. He's out of touch with low income and disabled citizens and should move back to his hometown and take his drug addict son with him.

  • St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh was to lazy to sign a contract with bulk rates. He doesn't care about the Veterans or seniors at the Housing Commission.

  • McCain refused to support the new G.I. Bill.

  • John McCain could murder a child live on tv and people would still support him just because they don't want to vote for a black man.

  • lmao!! so true

  • Wow. Strong statement, but I get your point! It is unbelievable to me how many people I had great respect for will vote for him no matter what he says or does, or whom he chooses to run with. Sad, sad, sad. And depressing.

Also, as "theskydiva" says below, I don't think he "dissed" this woman either. I have seen him be plenty condescending and dismissive of others, but did not see that in this case.

    Obama/Biden '08

  • I'm afraid you may have a point....Sad.

  • THIS GUY IS TOTAL SCUM.

  • @ed11561 of course he is, he's in politics!

  • @ed11561. Mr. Ed and all you babies. U call'im scum just because he's a Republican, yet it was senior George H Bush and McCain WHO CREATED the ADA Act that gave you whiners the right to live on your own + SO many others Rights! I've been living in a w/chair 24yrs + daily w/chronic pain! But i am thankful for all that is already done 4 us, and i wish they'd take it from you ungreatefuls so u'll learn just how good u really have it.

  • @2inchtube I call McCain scum because when he was captured & broke his own arms due to his improper ejection from his own plane-he cried like a baby to put him into a hospital & he agreed to make 34 tapes for the communists telling the world how evil the USA is. Then after the war-the US was given an ultimatum by the N.Vietnamese to pay $4Billion to let all the POW's go & THE US REFUSED-LETTING ALL THE POW'S DIE.McScum&Kerry covered it up.THEY R TRAITORS.

    SCUMBAG LYING TRAITORS.Look it up.

  • @2inchtube watch?v=giA8-AkdjZs&feature=player_embedded#!

watch mccain cover up the pow's fate.

Him & Kerry KNEW there were POW's that were left behind because the USA would not pay the N.Vietnamese $2,000,000,000 for war reparations.

    GOOGLE MCCAIN & KERRY'S MIA COVER-UP.

  • @2inchtube I just told@zachanner

that john macain sucks for not

    supporting the CCA

  • I didn't think it sounded like McCain dissed her. He's just upfront and gives a straight answer. I suppose it would have been more polite of him to thank her for her question first.

  • the elderly that are blamed for fuckinh up 2000 and now McCain supporters him to be president? He has always voted against vets for the interest of big business, has confessed to having no clue about the economy,McCain, the millionaire with free health insurance, also will force people to pay for health insurance whether they can afford it or not and his vp wants to take away women's right to choose on the basis of her religious views. A vote for McCain is a vote for ignorance.

  • We can only hope McCain's ignorance and arrogance worry voters more than Obama's race.

Everyone go to elections 08 and do the delegate math. if the projections go as planned Obama wins by 4 votes if I remember the math right. This is why we have the electoral college, to counter voter ignorance.

  • ass face mcaiin can go suck vinegar balls that old piece of shit better loose!! OBAMA IS THE BEST!!!

  • That was messed up 4real and i think all disabled people should really think this election through because that really made mccain look very bad he just said no with reason as of why he said it and i think it was wrong he could have apologized or something OBAMA 08 HATE IT OR LOVE IT

  • St. Joseph,MI - City Manager Frank Walsh and his bully's on the Housing Commission Board actually voted yes for a satellite company to install satellite TV service at the St. Joseph Housing Commission at the Lake View Terrace high rise. If the city goes through with the vote then Veterans and senior citizens can order pay TV.

  • why do they have to pay? Shouldnt military vets have it free as with our seniors? If you support taking care of the elderly or the american veterans that fought fo our country then they should have it free of charge not have to pay for it. We need to take care of our vets and elderly not burden them more.

  • If it was up to me they would at least get a discount but St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh was to lazy to sign a contract with bulk rates. He doesn't care about the Veterans or seniors at the Housing Commission.

  • Yeah came to his office and had them arrested. There is NOTHING I can't stand more than people like McCain and Palin getting away with claiming their crap is justified with God's sanction. Do women even CARE that if Palin gets to be president they won't have the choice to get an abortion if they get raped? she thinks pregnancy is "god's will" just like McCain does!

  • McCain doesnt like disabled people never has. When he returned home from being a pow he dumped his first wife because she was disabled and not the babe he had left behind even though she stood by him. McCain doesnt like anyone who is weak or doesnt have money.

  • I am super mad at this response to this lady. He should have stated the reason why he didn't support Community based Services in his response.

  • ADAPT is a radical organization who often stage sit-ins and other forms of civil disobedience, not to make their message known but to publicly pout, like a child holding its breath in order to get its way. Perhaps McCain had encountered this type of behavior? I'm FAR from a fan of his but you have to know these people and their fanatical tactics and demands. They think they speak for all people with disabilities. They are wrong!!!

  • Civil disobediance is public pouting? Is that what Gandhi and Dr. King did? Just publicly pout?

  • I guess those civil rights activists fighting for the rights african-americans were just being troublesome, sitting at those counters, boycotting those buses and such. They aren't a radical organization

  • This should have been played during his pathetic RNC speech begging America to fight with him. He doesn't give a hoot about ANYONE who is not equal to his wallet value. What a loser, OMG this idiot cannot become our President.

  • St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh banned the disabled residents at the St. Joseph Housing Commission from cable TV.

Call Frank Walsh at 269-983-5541 and tell him to lift the cable TV ban.

  • look at McCain's face...he doesn't even care! he's feigning concern. UGH.

  • John McCain's running mate could have been Marie Antoinette-"Let 'em eat cake!" He's had Cancer. How apathetic can he be? As much as Bush?

  • St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh

He will continue to ignore the needs of the less fortunate.

    Frank Walsh

    He has no shame

    He has no heart

He's a two faced old fart

  • And he will continue to ignore the needs of the less fortunate.

    John McCain

    He has no shame

    He has no heart

He's a two faced old fart

  • Sounds like St Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh

  • Sounds like St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh.

  • St. Joseph,MI City Manager Frank Walsh banned the disabled residents at the St. Joseph Housing Commission from cable TV. If St. Joseph does let residents at the Housing Commission order pay TV the channels will be controlled by the city and they won't be able to order the packages they want. It's like 'Little Cuba'.

Call Frank Walsh at 269-983-5541 and tell him to lift the cable TV ban.

  • Damn....well at least he was honest

  • McCain graduated from the Naval Academy 5th from the bottom out of 899 Cadets. He is obviously disabled himself. Who would vote the bottom student from every class?

  • The state of Arizona.

  • ADAPT Rocks. McCain blew her off. He needs to lose.

  • mccain is a small and dirty man with no vision of the future

  • John McCain: An adulterer that cheated on his disabled wife, turned his back on raising his children. Lived out of wedlock with his new young rich chick. Than divorced his disabled wife and one MONTH later married the chic with the money, but collected his disability check anyway. When he tells you "That happened long ago" Well, his military service happened long before that. So much for the Republican's Family Values they shoved down our throats for years.

  • "Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, 'Where is that marvelous ape?'"

~ John McCain (Tucson Citizen, 10/27/86)

MCCAIN IS A BAD CHOICE FOR WOMEN!

    WOMEN AGAINST MCCAIN

    VOTE OBAMA 08!

  • McCain is a bad choice for every one if

Obama doesn't win we are all doomed not just women

  • Man...he sure was walking backward while talking out his ass!!!!

  • With regret, I voted for Bush Jr. twice out of loyalty to the Republican Party. As a result my son has lost his leg fighting in Iraq under false pretenses. My family can not afford another four years of MCbush/Mcsame policies!

Rep turn Dem [Obama '08] (and if mccain wins, bush might as well stay in office, all mccain is is a older version of bush)

DO NOT VOTE FOR A MAN WHO VOTED AGAINST THE MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY! IM WHITE AND IM SPEAKING FOR ALL AMERICANS!!

  • McCain's record speaks for itself. Although McCain is disabled himself, collecting nearly $60,000/year in disability checks, he has never supported issues important to people with disabilities.

His current Flop is nothing more than typical McCain political pandering. McCain is the McSame Sh*t

  • McCain only cares about rich white able bodied men

  • Yeah, McC did well here. I don't even feel that he was disrespectful to this woman.

He didn't seem Presidential - Not At All

But at least he didn't appear as rude and cold-hearted as he generally does-

  • "you and many of you!!!!" WTF!!!!

  • I agree with stalliec...how did McCain "diss" this woman? He said he supported the original Americans With Disabilities Act, and that "we would continue to update and upgrade and improve as needed". He also said, "I will continue to communicate with you, and I will continue my commitment to all Americans with disabilities".

It's not that he doesn't care. He just thinks there are better ways to help Americans who have disabilities.

  • "He just thinks there are better ways to help Americans who have disabilities."

This is the problem! We (people with disabilities) should be allowed to choose what's best for us. That's what the CCA is about.

I'm 28, college-educated. I live with my parents b/c the only assistance the gov't offers is a nursing home.

Just because McCain can walk and I can't, does that mean that he should be able to say where I can and cannot live? Because by opposing the Choice Act, that's what he's doing.

  • you are dom

  • But he is willing to spend billions continuously for Iraq, whether it is for the good of their country or to so called "win" the ongoing war. The point is that he is willing to continue a war we cannot afford for foreign soil when domestic soil needs the attention. common sense

  • This jackass asks for townhalls and then gets exposed in question after question as being cold hearted son of a bitch who could give a damn about veteran affairs. McCain's position regarding the ill or poor is the same position as GOP generally - if you are in a bad way its probably your fault so fuck you and stay outta my wallet please, thanks. Christians huh? Gimmie a break.

  • My brother has Friedreich's Ataxia it is a form of muscular dystrophy but is more of a neuro dystrophy and he is suppose to live on about $530 a month from medicare.

  • McCain should have laid it out: The CCA Act would help people with disabilities, that is clear; but it would also be an expensive option that would, like all good efforts, come at the expense of other good efforts, like medical research and other health care. It's a sad truth. Government can never satisfy everyone completely.

  • CAA would take money away from the Nursing Home industry, which takes significantly more money than it costs for home and community based services, to keep people in 8 by 10 rooms they have to share with a stranger.

Furthermore, nobody should look at these folks with pity. They are well trained and educated advocates who are fighting for the American dream.

ADAPT is aware that it will take money from others, they just want the money to follow the person, not the institution.

  • The problem is that society does not view people with disabilities as people. They view them as objects. Neither the Republican or Democratic party is going to do much of anything to help people with disabilities and things are just getting worse. As long as so many people that could thrive in community based services and supported living are denied this right, they are still kept from living a full and productive life. The group homes have taken over where the institutions left off.

  • THANK YOU. For this comment. Because it is the TRUTH.

    THANK YOU.

  • i'm an avid Obama supporter, but i really don't see how his response was a "diss."

kind of small-minded to caricature this clip in that fashion. she put him on the spot to support a piece of legislation with which he disagrees, and he was honest (and in NO WAY disrespectful) about his disagreement with it.

if ANY of you would have signed on to that legislation simply because it was a disabled person asking you to do so, i would say that it's a good thing you don't hold public office.

  • I'm another Obama supporter that totally agrees with this comment. This was a professional exchange, good dialogue, truthful answer. If a "diss" means we always have to say yes, the democracy will crumble

  • hear hear

  • That was a cold blooded diss but that's how most republicans are with common folk. Out of touch with the majority of americans this guy flies on a private jet and married to a rich bitch why would he care about the common man? Plus being surrounded by lobbyist only hardens his heart even more he knows who pays his bills. Why would anyone vote for a person who thinks that middle class ppl earn 250K a year and offer $50 an hr for american ppl to pick vegetables and admits he doesn't know economics

  • His handling wasn't necessarily rude imho, it was, rather, kind of cold and stilted. His major league problem on this was breaking eye contact with her. It was quite obvious that he was actually put to shame here, hence the inability to look at the lady.

  • i dont think he disses her but he could have said why he's not voting for the bill rather than just stating he wouldn't

  • Ummm, then what is a diss? First off what is a diss? It comes from the word "disrespect". Like, "dont you disrespect (diss) me!!"

And what is the most common way to disrespect someone? By barely acknowledging them and ignoring them.

That's exactly what McCain did right there. He was like "Yeah, whatever" and then goes onto the next person.

  • Don't you see him nodding and showing her he's listening?

What was he supposed to do-rub her back and let her cry on his shoulder?

It's sad to be disabled-but we all do so much to help these people. My parents have taken care of one disabled relative after another, and it drains the fuck out of them...they dont get to do a lot of what they want to do because they have to tend to them. My friend's dad had MS-he spent his childhood raising his dad-we have a right to live our own lives

  • I am 19 and I have multiple sclerosis. Although your friend's dad spent alot of you childhood helping his dad, I guarantee his situation wasn't as bad as his dad was. People who don't have a disability do not know what it is like to have a disability. People who don't know you judge you on your disability before they get to know you. They are not treated as equal to people who are not disabled.

  • i think dissing her would have been to stop her from talking, or to support the bill just because she asked him to.

If he can tell her to her face that he doesn't support it, I assume he believes he has a good reason not to.

I don't think it makes McCain a bad person, you cant just do everything that a disabled person wants just because they are disabled. I'm sure John McCain knows disabled people-most people do. He has compassion for that.

  • Dude, that was a fucking diss. Listen to what he said again and then think back to how Bill Clinton would have handled that.

Even if Bill didn't agree with the policies she was talking about he would have said, "I feel your pain and as President I will do such and such and such to help your plight but I can't support this policy".

McCain was like "No, I hate that thing and won't support it. Now get out of here you f'ing cripple while I talk to this other person".

  • I guess he could have been a little more polite yes.

I'm actually an Obama supporter so it would be really easy for me to attack McCain for this...but this is just a distraction.

I mean, the woman just kind of irked me, she's like one of those people who almost seems to think able-bodied people should feel guilty for not having a disability.

A lot of people in this country use their disability as an excuse. Not all, but a lot.

  • I wanted to give McCain the benefit of the doubt too. I believe that politicians are scrutinized way too much about things that don't really matter. Like when Obama said he "campaigned in 57 states" or whatever he said. Of course over the course of a year or two long campaign you're gonna mixup words and things.

So I do try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt on matters like this. And yes, she did seem to sound like an "unhandicapable person". Even more reason to be more polite to her.

  • Yeah, I think I just have a problem with the way everyone pretends to care so much about people with disabilities.

Cuz real caring for people with disabilities involves giving them baths, cleaning up their shit, feeding them, and sacrificing a lot of your own life and spirit to care for them.

Only recently in human history have we even been able to keep these people alive and well-in the old days caring for them would have killed everyone else. They are lucky people care.

  • That was rather cold!

  • damn, tell me about living with disabilities. I dont even live in america but life sure is hell when you are using a crutch.

  • fucking son of a bitch why in hell will i voted for this guy until you lived or spent time with someone with disabilities you know how hard the world can be
