I love strange names but to be a little more orthodox she coulda just went with Carlie as the first name. Combining two names has some good outcomes. My friend's parents combined their names Raymond and Michelle and het name is ...........Raychell. I common named spelled differently just like Carlie.
okay i have to admit that i am a sucker for strange names, especially since i have a strange name myself. otherwise i totally agree with your review, i loved the first three (sort of) if you watch my videos you'll understand. books of the twilight saga but i hated breaking dawn and it changed my opinion of the whole series not saga. and i went back and saw the errors of the first three books and now i hate the entire saga.
i loved it because it makes sence because bella love to u know do it and gets carried awy and gets prego and Edward does not like the baby at first because it was hurting her but i wanna know what you thought of her hunting trip? I LOVED it!!!
I think SM was under so much pressure to write this final book that she sort of
lost her amazing mind. Still, it's no excuse to write about vampires getting girls pregnant. I'm scared to see what kind of movie Summit will make out of this book.
i agree with most off this , i liked jacobs POV tho. butt yeahh the atmophere is diffrent and i think the whole thing with the volderi (however u spell that lol) just dragged on, didnt seem like the twilight series , and bella does change too much!! like when she goes to that place to see that jay jenkins guy, and people stare at her, she just smiles, the bella we knw would surly be uncomftable by this?
i thought all in all it was a very dissapointing end to a wonderful series. :(
tottaly agree it was like a bad soap! the plot was all over the place and was really hard to get into it. Bella didnt seem the same to me, its like she just turned into a different person. ok i get that she wanted a baby and all but i wouldnt have gone down that road with the book.
im not surprised about pregnancy. u have sex, babies come. but how he impreginated bella? well, itz stephs creation and supposedly he was able too. but one thing i agree with is dat there was a problem with consistency. i kinda noted that in edward after the first book. he changed alot! i get chracters change but it shud b gradual. ed was a confident mysterious vampire teenager, later seemed like a man parenting bella? 'bella i dunt think it's right' blah blah blah. this is just my opinion
I agree.I loved the start, the wedding and the start of honeymoon!but then NO!
-she killed me when she rote nufin bout the actual sex..i mean i wasnt expectin a porno but WAT? she worked up to the whole sex for what 3 books and then she gives us day after?WTF?I liked the Jacob bit but HATED the pregnancy and Renesme! Y is she gettin pregnant? I dnt care bout the whole "he cant get her pregnant" but seriously y is there a baby?Edward is a Lover not a father!Jacob and leah shouldve been together!
Omg i hated breaking dawn. First, Bella was more annoying and whiny than usual, its your wedding day and she is complaining. What made me laugh was she was about to name her baby "Edward Jacob" EJ and then renesmee? wtf? Renesmee was too much of a Mary Sue. Bella was always going on about how beautiful she looked which made her so shallow. Jacob imprinted on her baby? I mean i thought him and leah were gonna get toghether. I love Leah and how she shouted at bella for what she was doing to jacob
You are awesome. I agree completely. This book was a huge disappointment for me. I cannot see Breaking Spawn being made into a movie. I read it a second time, but had to force my way through it. I want to love it, but I just cant. The only good parts were the ones involving Jacob, Seth, and Leah. I love them. wow, that was kind of all over the place. (my comment)
I liked the weird twist about how she got pregnant, but the name was clever, but
just....weird. and also i hated how Stephanie Meyer whipped through the wedding. I would have loved to hear them say their vows, and a little more detail, but all she gave us was them saying "i do" to eachother. I agree about how edward was acting the morning after the honeymoon night. it took them like, 10 pages of fighting until he finally agreed to atleast pretend he was miserable about it.
I agree! I just didn't like it. Sorry. Hopefully they will make the movie and make it better then the book. Honestly I wonder if stephanie meyer wrote it that way so they wouldn't be able to make the movie for it? But I like Renessmees name honestly.
breaking dawn was very bad, it was a terrible way to end the series. The plot line definatly didnt make sence, the pregnancy and renesme are a total joke.
I totally agree with you.Bella's daughters name is dumb your right.I think Jacob and Leah sould be together.I also think that if Bella wants Jacob to be part of her family she souldn't be mad that he imprinted on her daughter.I don't understand how someone can imprint on a baby baut I guess it can happen.I am just like you I love twiligth books but Breaking Dawn was horrible
ur feakin crazy...I loved breaking dawn and i liked the babys name Renesmee...would u hav liked it better as NESSIE!And MY GOD wat the hell is ur problem with Bella havin a baby & Edward even being able to have a baby with her!It gives the book a hole new twist and it doesnt have 2 make FREAKIN SENSE!...sorry! Im being a b*tch right now arent i...sorry bout that i just really like the book and i dont see a problem with it.tell me if u think Edward is hot on the add a comment thing on my channel
ok i loved breaking dawn and i loved all of the books :D to the breaking dawn haters im not saying u arent allowd to say how u feel about the book or anything because everyone has the right to say wat they want to say it just makes me mad when they put down stephanie because she is a awsome author and if it wasnt for her we wouldnt have bella and edward in the first place and to the rest of the people who say the whole series was bad y ddi u even read it in the first place ?
I agree after the wedding the story went south for me. I have no problem with Bella eventually becoming a vampire or Edward finally being able to hear her mind. I do have a major problem with male vampires siring children, and Jacob imprinting on a baby. Renesemee was a little to "demon child" for me. I didn't think she was cute at all, and Jacob should have just fallen off the face of the earth in Eclipse. I know my thoughts are scattered here, I hope I'm making sense. cont.
I know what you mean... i actually never finihed the book. i just dont want to... It wasnt even bella anymore... the only resion i red as far as i did was because we finally get to see jacobs pov.
But when it got back to Bella's pov in the third, it started to decline with my interest. It almost seemed like SM tried to rush everything (which I understand people that she has a time limit and stuff). I don't know how I would've written the ending. I just know I lost interest very quickly in the third book. I also hate the name Renesmee! Ya, the child is different, but don't put the kid through more torture. And what was ppl's reaction to when Edward asked Jacob to save her ("puppies")
I agree with you. I've had this book for how many months (ever since it came out) and I can't finish either. Even during New Moon, which bored me to tears almost, it kept me guessing and very interested even though it was slow. BD made me lose all interest. I think that Bella's pov in the 1st book was great, we got our Bella back in the game, she'll be a wife and experience all this new stuff. I like reading Jacob's pov because for once I could read the way he thought of everything.
I agree! I finished it, I thought it was alright. But she elaborated too much I think. It made the plot kind of slow and draggy. A book doesn't have to be long to be awesome like Harry Potter.
Ok, I agreed with your video about the midnight sun leak, but how can you expect Stephanie to even WANT to write another book after people go and critize that last book she wrote so harshly.. I personally enjoyed Breaking Dawn more so then Twilight, and if you DIDNT like it, keep it to yourself. I watched this video hoping it would show the same optimism as your Midnight Sun one, but quite frankly your just another fan who thinks they know everything and anything. Not A Great first video.
We are all be allowed to voice our opinions on what we do and do not enjoy about an author's writing. Not once did I criticize Stephenie's character, personal life, or any other part of her that is irrelevant to her writing. Literary critiques are part of being a writer, and I would hope that any writer is aware of that.
Key words, SO HARSHLY. For god sakes a 5 minute rant about the name of one character and the way another is portrayed? If I was her, after seeing this kind of video about something she's worked hard on, Id give up writing the series too. I never said you critized her personal life ect, but thats not whats prompting her to end the series.
(continued) I do not claim to know everything, nor do I wish to, so I'm not sure how you managed to misinterpret my disappointment as omniscience. I asked for opinions from people who enjoyed the book so I could understand that perspective a bit better, which doesn't quite indicate a callous disregard for those who disagree with me. If you enjoyed it, I welcome you to explain why. May I remind you that you needn't watch these videos if you are so opposed to and upset by a different opinion.
Disappointment is one thing, but acting as if it should be totally different based on your (granted, and others) opinions is another. When you write a series, then I will take time to respect your opinon, and if you will read my first post you will see that I watched this one hoping for the same kind of optimsm as your Midnight Sun video, aside from this disagreement I fully stand by what you said in that video.
The funniest thing about "true-fans" of SM is that someone who loves the series and all the books can go on and on about how great and wonderful SM and her books are. But for the fans that didn't like BD and voiced their opinions about it are told to shut up and keep their opinions to themselves. Interesting.
There must be a small part of those "fans" that know there is some truth to what the negative reviews about the Breaking Dawn book are saying. Or else they wouldn't get so upset. JMHO.
This is hilarious! I'm reading back through the comments here and ALL of the positive praise for BD is getting "thumbs-down" ratings and then it hides those comments until you click "show". So, anyone who has ANY positive praise for BD is damned?
Anyway, IMO this is a story about a human girl who falls in love with a Vampire and befriends a pack of Wolves... I guess that's more believable than Bella getting pregnant and calling her kid Renesmee? I mean, grain of salt people! Geesh! Get a grip!!
Someone posted a similar comment a while back, I believe. I realize that this is a fantasy genre (aka not at all realistic), but given the limits of the world created in these novels, I found what happened to be unrealistic. For me, the kid's name wasn't a matter of continuity, just a matter of a bad name.
So what would you have named "the kid" then? Or better yet, go write your version of how you think the book should be and let the world judge it. I mean no offence, but seriously..
Nope, you dont have to pretend it isnt good if you dont think its good, BUT going on about all of the books possesed "flaws" (in your minds) is a bit exessive and overplayed..
I'm sorry but can you please write when Renesmee was foreshawdowed in Twilight beacause I read all of the books more than once(exccept Breaking dawn) and i never saw her foreshawdow anything like that. Please in could the page number so i can check for my self.
I agree with you completely. You pretty much just said everything I had to say about it and more. I am so disappointed with Stephenie right now, I just...
I was expecting so much more. You're right, the last installments should always be the most epic, enjoyable ones. Instead, this one lets you down. I felt like quitting soon after Bella became a vampire, but, I waited for months for the darn thing to come out and paid for it, so, might as well get the whole story.
Ehh...I loved Renesmee, so the whole pregnancy thing didn't get to me at all...and I didn't like the honeymoon scene...but everything else was great to me...O-O;;
I said on his review that I said the same thing. There are billions of people in the world. Your bound to have someone that thought the same thing. Look. I'm not here to fight. So just cool off.
why cant you just take it as a good story that you enjoyed reading installments of and helped you pass time. i do not understand why people get so emotional about it and get so upset at stephenie's decisions as to what she wrote. it is a work of fiction meant to entertain you. if you were not entertained so be it. there is no need for people to rant and act like someone just betrayed them.
i agree it sucked ass hated so bad cause i cried u r so right we lost bella.also i am 12 and i looked up to bella i liked her until she turned into a vampire I was on team jacob beacause that was the choose i would have made.i liked the whole idea of being a vampire until i found out from these book that it woudn't be a good thing and i so would have chosen jake cause i love being human.great review exatly how i felt
I agree with you on everything you said. I really hate to hate this book because I am a huge fan of the series, but it really was a "check minus" for stephenie meyer.
ANYWAY, in my opinion the book contradicted a lot of aspects, I mean how can a male vampire even have an erection, that requires blood in their veins, and they can't blush...too long I know one word...disapointment.
As someone in my literary circle adequately put it, "The tadpoles aren't swimming anymore" Plus , even as a pro-life supporter, I felt that there was this subtext of "Rarrgh! Abortion is MURDER! Don't even think about it, even if your baby is KILLING you!" around the whole thing.
there would just be an entire chapter of 'I'm so tired..,passed out...woke up this happend' and so on, but the timing was awful. I really wanted to see the conversations, ideas, and went on between Bella and Rosalie. Plus I still can't even picture Bella with a baby, it's just..too...I don't know, wrong, weird?
I loved your review, the best I've seen so far. You were very mature about you opinions, really refreshing after all the whining and you backed up your reasoning. I agreed with every word you said.
I thought the story was going really well until Bella got and I was like '...wait...HUH?'. After that hardly anything made sense, and I understand the switching points of view and even came to theidea that SM had to switch or else
u seem very sweet and please disregard my 1st comment cuz i rlly mad bout it 2 when i read it rite after. but u no wat i can understand y u wud get worked up on it but it is her story and this is way she wrote it. so just reread it and think bout all the things you liked about it
i still cant wrap my head around all the negativity surrounding this book. i LOOVED it. i thought she ended it amazingly. umm, as in all the other books edwards a worry wart, so he was beating himself up over "hurting" her[typical edward] on their first nite, which wasnt graphic at all. and the name renesmee is a tad messed up, but its just a name, get over it. anyways, i loved this book, but im sorry u didnt!
btw, it never rele said vamps cant get ppl preggers, just that vamps cant.
This book.... ughhhh this book. I don't know what to say. I put it down when Jacob sided with the Cullens. I thought the first three books in the series were horrible, but this makes them look like literary masterpieces.
I was like WAITING for someone to pop up and say YOU'VE BEEN PUNK'D.
But no....no....
And the fact that he BITE into her uterus! Wtf?!
And then i understand the Mormon thing (hence Renesme) but I wish she just separated religion from this world. I thought that....they weren't religious. But w/e maybe I didn't get it.
Then the 3 some deal! WTF?!?!
I wasn't happy. The world that she created was just shattered. But, again, we shouldn't be feeling this way. I hope something can redeem this.
i absolutely agree with what you said! iv been a uge twilight fan but reading bd i kept sitting back and thinking "please let this be a joke. this is just another insane fan fiction."it really left me with a bad final feeling for the series.also, i read all the first 3 w/o pause & this one i akmit had to make myselffinish. plus she skipped over the edward cullen lovin...haha unforgivable stephenie meyer! i also think it was unrealistic and flat how everything workd out just perfectly for bella.
I still LOVE the twilight series no matter what!!!so what breaking dawn wasnt her best book. it was still pretty good i loved the wedding scene and edwards response after having sex the first is edward waht DID u expect for him to all happy that he bruised bella everywhere!?!?! seriously ppl! get over it!I LOVE the twilight serious tho...even tho i already said tht but its true! and the name wasnt even tht bad. Geez guys cut her some slack sereiously! but i cant wait for the movie!!! excitiing.
Of course I wouldn't want Edward to be delighted that he hurt Bella, but his excessive moping irritated me. Bella's reaction in that part was that of annoyance, too, so for that part I definitely sympathized with her frustration. Edward's glumness seemed almost like a caricature at that point, and that's what bothered me, not that he was upset.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I don't get why everyone is hating this book! Geez people, is there no pleasing you? Why does everything related to Twilight have to be a certain way? It's Stephenie Meyer's book and she gets to decide what happens. There are people who thought the wedding and the honeymoon were stupid. Seriously, what are you people on?
Not that there's anything wrong with happy endings. I really wanted a happy ending and all (in fact that was the first question I asked my friends who had this book...if Bella got a happy ending and if someone she loved had died). It would've been a lot better if
A) She would talk about Jacob from time to time and how much she still loved him
B) There was an action-heavy fight in the end like it had foreshadowed in the beginning
C)The pregnancy bit wasn't such a huge chunk of the book
Ugh...the lack of action in this book frustrates me. I love the first 3 mainly because there's also a point in the climax where Bella has to choose to fight for the life of someone she loves and sees it through, usually. This may sound morbid, but I wanted and was expecting bloodshed (or lack thereof) in the final chapters. The ending felt way too sugary sweet...it would've been better if Bella had to sacrifice something for all she had gained (bittersweet though it would have been).
Book 3 felt really strange. I mean, I think it's really exciting to see what Bella feels as a newborn vampire and all (and, for the most part, she kept a lot of her personality from her human life), but...I hated the ending of this book! I didn't think I'd feel that way about a happy ending where no one dies. I actually would probably feel good about this book if it wasn't so anti-climatic. I was expecting a real fight with the Volturi...and I got nothing.
And yes, it's true that Bella's baby inside of her wasn't even human...but it just didn't feel natural to me that she wanted to kill herself for the baby. The whole giving birth scene in this book was nightmarish...I felt like I was in hell reading it. And it makes me cringe everytime I remember it. I didn't think the Twilight series could get more gory than that, frankly. *shudders*
I agree with just about everything you said...I just feel way too confused I read. I feel like I put my whole heart in the first 3 books while reading and then...it just died when I read this last one. It started out really great but the whole pregnancy thing was just very...odd. This series captured my heart because the first book had this wonderful mixture of both realism and fantasy. And I could relate to most of Bella's personality traits to tell you the truth. But...BD is a joke.
well anyone who's seriously insulted at this video has ridiculously low expectations. renesmee? anyone out there actually liked renesmee?! everything was overreacted in this book, and it all ended too perfectly. the pregancy made NO sense, and neither did bella's stupid sex-and-eggs addiction.
um im just wondering....what did u want edward to think after the first nite of their honeymoon? he hurt bella and he blamed himself what did u want him to do? say "wow bella you look great all black and blue" also i like the name renesmee, just my opinion, im am 100% against wat u have said.
I've already commented on this question since a few people have sarcastically asked me if I wanted Edward to be happy that he hurt Bella. That's not what I mean at all. Of course he's going to be upset! When I say that I thought his reaction the morning after was excessive, I mean that it seemed way too sulky for Edward's character. He's supposed to be cool, composed, etc., yet in that scene he seems like a whiny teenager. I think his shame could have been portrayed differently.
The character developement in the books have always been mediocre. I think part of it is that the other books you read when you were younger-- and you look at it with a more critical eye now.
I hope some time in the future a great author will write a vampire series that will pwn Twilight so everyone can finally see what a huge bucket of fail the series is.
Oh, and the worst name ever has to be Scorpius Malfoy ;)
Oh yeah, Scorpius Malfoy is horrible! But about BD. I didnt read it, but so far I've mostly heard bad things... Im really nervous to see how I like it. I really hope it doesnt ruin my outlook on the other books!
I didn't hate the book but I totally agree with you. I loved the wedding and the island. They were definitly the best part of the book. It was great until bella found out she was preggers. WTF!! that was my initial reaction. After that it just got painful to read. And although there were some really good parts that made me laugh(like Jacob's view, the cabin, and Emmett's comments)i ended up feeling really disappointed. There were ALOT of plot holes and inconsistencies and not enough fighting.
i feel the same about BD. seemed like Stephenie Meyer rushed through it and made some MAJOR flaws. like what about Jacob vs. Edward? Werwolves vs. Vampire? vampires not able to create a child? Bella's parents? there was no explanation. i think Stephenie Meyer wanted to give the fans what they wanted (especially with all the fan fiction)having a baby and all the stuff but it didn't work out the way she planned i assume. over 15 fans have already returnd BD, but Stephenie Meyer is hurt the most.
I am sooo torn: pro or con breaking dawn? GAWSH i am so torn. I can't even make my own opinion, after hearing everyone else's (I've been all over the internet trying to find out what people think)
sagodoy you read my mind. You said everything i was thinking! And everyone else who wrote on this page saying you hated it I AGREE! i am so dissapionted in this book :(
breaking dawn was garbage! the more i think about it the more angry it makes me. i completely agree with you, part of me is really hoping the whole thing is a big joke. and while everyone keeps saying the wedding was cute...really?!...really? where were edward's wedding vows?! of all the times for edward to go over and above our expectations of amazingly romantic lines this was it and there was not a word...i have so many problems with this book it's insane.
now that you mention it, i'm disappointed edward didnt give vows.
because edward in this book.. really disappointed me. vows would have been very cute and maybe justified for some of edward's change in character later.
Everyone's being so picky. Theres many things Edward shouldn't do because he's dead. The fact that he can even...be aroused is impossible without having blood, so everyone who is getting upeddy about the pregnancy should be FURIOUS that vampires can even get it on. Personally, I thought that part was fantastic.
We don't need to know why. If we were gonna start asking why, then we should ask why vampires even exist.
Finally, somehow people could never manage a happy ending. Like I didn't with HP7. Haha. But I had the feeling somehow it never did end. Edward and Bella's story did but the series, it haven't. Nessis's life after that will be interesting, being half breed and all. This books need to be read with calm feeling rather than feeling exited about the end. I read spoilers, I thought I would hate it but decided I'll just read through, with no predictions. Then turns out I adore BD. U shud read again.
EXACTLY. You took the words right out of my mouth. I mean I love love loved Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse but Breaking Dawn was... I can't even explain how much I disliked it. I agree the beggining was awesome, the wedding was great but... the honey moon wasn't good.
Omg you are amazing. I agree with everything you said!!! XD lol Renesmee crazy name for a child. Thumbs up for this review! ;D
I thought it was good. The book has many prospectives. Mothers above anything. when Bella wanted the baby, my mum said only mother's would understand, with some other deep hearted people. Jake's on finally realizing Edward's love to Bella, I think that was the real progress. Also the whole vampires knocking up a teenage girl, it was a laugh at first point but then I saw the message that anything in any world could happen and reasonably, I slapped myself from laughing.
k now you guys are just overreacting. The book was not that bad. I am a hugggggge fan of twilight saga. I know that this book is not the best one in this saga, but still it was pretty thoughtful the way she tied all loosen ends and perspective of each character.
In this book, all characters had to grow up and had to mature and may be that's why we didn't have those exciting romantic moments between bella and ed.
I totally agree with you! I kept wishing that someone had put a fake book in the pile of the other Breaking Dawns just to make some random Twilight fan. I kept wishing that someone would jump out of my closet and say, "HA Just kidding, here's the real copy!" but no, that, unfortunately, did not happen.
I didn't even notice little facts I was imersed while I read it but when I put it down I thought back I felt sick. Not like I wanted another book, but I felt sad I didn't feel like it was the same characters.
its like S.M stood up halfway through writing B.D grabbed someone who had never even heard of Twilight and said 'right, write what you feel like i dont mind. ill be back in a couple of weeks to check back on u.' I mean it was an awesome series, and then...she..ruined it. Sorry S.M but it was a complete letdown.
Well I kinda liked it and didn't. It just seems that I read these kinda things happening in fanfictions millions of times, so it didn't seem any better, actually some fanfics I read were better... But it was okay
yeah I agree with your review. it just didn't make sense. im so disapointed because im a huge fan of both twilight and stephanie meyer. the story just didn't feel natural to me. i think i will just try and forget breaking dawn because i actually like the rest of the books.
I thought it was a little weird and twisted but i wanted to keep reading the book just to see how much more bizarre things can get. I was just ompletely thrown off by everything that happened. I got a little annoyed with some of the characters. Overall it is a really twisted story and i don't know if i'll read it again which i have done with all of the books. It's depressing in a way. :(
I have to say, I quite agree with most of your feelings on the book. I felt thrown off by everything that was happening.
Just strange things kept happening that felt more like an overwrought fanfic, drizzled with wishful thinking than the actual book Stephanie Meyer wrote.
After Bella found out about the pregnancy, I struggled to continue reading. How could Edward's sperm still be alive and well?
Renesmee's name makes me physically cringe. And the middle name "Carlie" *shutters*
i'm sorry, i cant agree at all. first, renesmee is a unique name, and i can see bella's style in it. 2nd, bella's changed throughout the book. of course her character is going to change a little in her situations. 3rd, i think its good that bella got her happy ending for once. after a short lifetime of drama and feeling like shes screwing things up, bella truly deserved to be happy with edward, renesmee and her family. shes changed, but thats supposed to happen.
*sigh* I agree with YOU!... I really liked Renesmee's name.. and it is very bella! she loved her family and passed it to her daughted=r.. its unique.. Im very happy bella got her hppy ending.. thats why i liked the book most actually, because it was more lighthearted and Bella finally got to be part of something, and not the weakling anymore. I very much enjoyed Breaking Dawn.
I definitely like that Bella got a happy ending. We all know that her character went through some pretty traumatic experiences in Forks, and it's good to know that she had her story wrapped up neatly. I just wish it could have gotten there in a different way.
I agree with everything you said as well. The name "Renesmee" makes me want to vomit. I agree that a lot of it does seem very forced, especially the very end [which I assume you've read by now] with the Volturi. I felt like it really dragged.
Uhm, vampires can cry. Read it again. There's a whole part on the first time Bella cried in vampire form. & tha neame yes horrible, but it grew on me. Renee=human Esme=Vampire Renesmee= half human half vampire.
First of all, you are hilarious and need to post more videos. Secondly, I completely agree with you. I thought the whole pregnancy thing was going to be a bad dream Bella had, but unfortunately it turned out to be what the book was about. I hope Stephenie Meyer decides to write a 5th because this one was so horrible. I was majorly let down. I was struggling to finish the book as well.
i agree with everything you said. i have about 2 hundred pages left and idk if i can finish.i would have been more satisfied if bella got turned into a vampire at the very end of the book.
and about the renesmee thing...i dont know what stephenie meyer was thinking. i despise renesemee and how everybody is in love with her.
i was also really hoping that bella would somehow look the same after becoming a vampire, but the fact that she doesnt look the same and that edward likes it, disgusts me
I'll grant that Renesmee IS a bad name, but do you honestly expect any better from Bella? Stephanie Meyer comes up with really good names, do I refuse to put the blame on her for this one. This one's all Bella.
Bella isn't a sentimental character, though, so picking that wacko name seemed weird to me. Wouldn't Bella know better? Who knows. Either way it's awful.
It wasn't what I was expecting by any means, and at first I was angry about the fact that somehow venom can work like sperm. I adjusted quickly though. When I got to book three it still felt like Bella, but that started to go downhill. I think the negative responses all boil down to that it felt like it didn't belong in the series. It's ironic, because the cover is looked at the same way. I actually felt like it was better writing, more mature and not as carefree, which isn't what people wanted.
ok i cant believe im going to comment a fourth time, but yes the name is completely insane. i kept saying the name over and over again saying it different ways and emphasizing different syllables to make it sound ok but it didnt work, lol. you would think that the editor would say something about the name!! jeez!
if you are going to make more videos i might subscribe, your very cheery and you brightened up my day! well despite the fact we are talking about a very sad subject:(
I love strange names but to be a little more orthodox she coulda just went with Carlie as the first name. Combining two names has some good outcomes. My friend's parents combined their names Raymond and Michelle and het name is ...........Raychell. I common named spelled differently just like Carlie.

I think SM was under so much pressure to write this final book that she sort of
lost her amazing mind. Still, it's no excuse to write about vampires getting girls pregnant. I'm scared to see what kind of movie Summit will make out of this book.
leslieleslie9393 2 years ago
i agree with most off this , i liked jacobs POV tho. butt yeahh the atmophere is diffrent and i think the whole thing with the volderi (however u spell that lol) just dragged on, didnt seem like the twilight series , and bella does change too much!! like when she goes to that place to see that jay jenkins guy, and people stare at her, she just smiles, the bella we knw would surly be uncomftable by this?
i thought all in all it was a very dissapointing end to a wonderful series. :(
katieeecon 2 years ago
tottaly agree it was like a bad soap! the plot was all over the place and was really hard to get into it. Bella didnt seem the same to me, its like she just turned into a different person. ok i get that she wanted a baby and all but i wouldnt have gone down that road with the book.
all in all 2/10 for breakin dawn

I was so so so so mad when jacob imprinted on Renesme and I was very upset that Bella got pregnant
So annoying!
sugarcupcake1 2 years ago
im not surprised about pregnancy. u have sex, babies come. but how he impreginated bella? well, itz stephs creation and supposedly he was able too. but one thing i agree with is dat there was a problem with consistency. i kinda noted that in edward after the first book. he changed alot! i get chracters change but it shud b gradual. ed was a confident mysterious vampire teenager, later seemed like a man parenting bella? 'bella i dunt think it's right' blah blah blah. this is just my opinion
diwalica 2 years ago
I agree.I loved the start, the wedding and the start of honeymoon!but then NO!
-she killed me when she rote nufin bout the actual sex..i mean i wasnt expectin a porno but WAT? she worked up to the whole sex for what 3 books and then she gives us day after?WTF?I liked the Jacob bit but HATED the pregnancy and Renesme! Y is she gettin pregnant? I dnt care bout the whole "he cant get her pregnant" but seriously y is there a baby?Edward is a Lover not a father!Jacob and leah shouldve been together!
2007lala2009 2 years ago
Omg i hated breaking dawn. First, Bella was more annoying and whiny than usual, its your wedding day and she is complaining. What made me laugh was she was about to name her baby "Edward Jacob" EJ and then renesmee? wtf? Renesmee was too much of a Mary Sue. Bella was always going on about how beautiful she looked which made her so shallow. Jacob imprinted on her baby? I mean i thought him and leah were gonna get toghether. I love Leah and how she shouted at bella for what she was doing to jacob

i dont knw why people dnt like it i loved it i thought it was amazing and its my second favourite out of the series!!!!!!

I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I disliked all of the books
lemonluver99 2 years ago
I liked the weird twist about how she got pregnant, but the name was clever, but
just....weird. and also i hated how Stephanie Meyer whipped through the wedding. I would have loved to hear them say their vows, and a little more detail, but all she gave us was them saying "i do" to eachother. I agree about how edward was acting the morning after the honeymoon night. it took them like, 10 pages of fighting until he finally agreed to atleast pretend he was miserable about it.
I enjoyed it though

The plot line definatly didnt make sence, the pregnancy and renesme are a total joke.
braden767 3 years ago 2
I completely agree! It was TERRIBLE.
1. It promotes teen pregnancy *tsk tsk*
2. Breaking Dawn promotes unsafe sex.
3. It had NO plot what so ever.
4. Teenagers (Jacob) imprinting with babies?! (Renesme)
5. What the hell is up wih, Renezsmee or however you spell it.
6. Mother and daughter going to school together?!
7. Edward Cullen is not a FREAKING DAD!

babygirlskittles92 3 years ago
I agree after the wedding the story went south for me. I have no problem with Bella eventually becoming a vampire or Edward finally being able to hear her mind. I do have a major problem with male vampires siring children, and Jacob imprinting on a baby. Renesemee was a little to "demon child" for me. I didn't think she was cute at all, and Jacob should have just fallen off the face of the earth in Eclipse. I know my thoughts are scattered here, I hope I'm making sense. cont.

I know what you mean... i actually never finihed the book. i just dont want to... It wasnt even bella anymore... the only resion i red as far as i did was because we finally get to see jacobs pov.
lovebreak101 3 years ago 4
But when it got back to Bella's pov in the third, it started to decline with my interest. It almost seemed like SM tried to rush everything (which I understand people that she has a time limit and stuff). I don't know how I would've written the ending. I just know I lost interest very quickly in the third book. I also hate the name Renesmee! Ya, the child is different, but don't put the kid through more torture. And what was ppl's reaction to when Edward asked Jacob to save her ("puppies")
foreverme93 3 years ago
I agree with you. I've had this book for how many months (ever since it came out) and I can't finish either. Even during New Moon, which bored me to tears almost, it kept me guessing and very interested even though it was slow. BD made me lose all interest. I think that Bella's pov in the 1st book was great, we got our Bella back in the game, she'll be a wife and experience all this new stuff. I like reading Jacob's pov because for once I could read the way he thought of everything.
foreverme93 3 years ago 2
I agree! I finished it, I thought it was alright. But she elaborated too much I think. It made the plot kind of slow and draggy. A book doesn't have to be long to be awesome like Harry Potter.
helloimdayana 3 years ago
Ok, I agreed with your video about the midnight sun leak, but how can you expect Stephanie to even WANT to write another book after people go and critize that last book she wrote so harshly.. I personally enjoyed Breaking Dawn more so then Twilight, and if you DIDNT like it, keep it to yourself. I watched this video hoping it would show the same optimism as your Midnight Sun one, but quite frankly your just another fan who thinks they know everything and anything. Not A Great first video.
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
We are all be allowed to voice our opinions on what we do and do not enjoy about an author's writing. Not once did I criticize Stephenie's character, personal life, or any other part of her that is irrelevant to her writing. Literary critiques are part of being a writer, and I would hope that any writer is aware of that.
sagodoy 3 years ago
Key words, SO HARSHLY. For god sakes a 5 minute rant about the name of one character and the way another is portrayed? If I was her, after seeing this kind of video about something she's worked hard on, Id give up writing the series too. I never said you critized her personal life ect, but thats not whats prompting her to end the series.
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
(continued) I do not claim to know everything, nor do I wish to, so I'm not sure how you managed to misinterpret my disappointment as omniscience. I asked for opinions from people who enjoyed the book so I could understand that perspective a bit better, which doesn't quite indicate a callous disregard for those who disagree with me. If you enjoyed it, I welcome you to explain why. May I remind you that you needn't watch these videos if you are so opposed to and upset by a different opinion.
sagodoy 3 years ago
Disappointment is one thing, but acting as if it should be totally different based on your (granted, and others) opinions is another. When you write a series, then I will take time to respect your opinon, and if you will read my first post you will see that I watched this one hoping for the same kind of optimsm as your Midnight Sun video, aside from this disagreement I fully stand by what you said in that video.
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
The funniest thing about "true-fans" of SM is that someone who loves the series and all the books can go on and on about how great and wonderful SM and her books are. But for the fans that didn't like BD and voiced their opinions about it are told to shut up and keep their opinions to themselves. Interesting.
There must be a small part of those "fans" that know there is some truth to what the negative reviews about the Breaking Dawn book are saying. Or else they wouldn't get so upset. JMHO.
birdhums 3 years ago
I never said I was a true fan?
And I dunno where you've been, but the negative reviews get voiced more freely then the positive reviews. A lot of controversy about a book..
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
durrr, u cant help if a book is really bad...i thought that book was horrible. I also couldn't finish it.
Rockonweanie 3 years ago
So if you couldnt finish it, how do you know the WHOLE book was horrible.. xD
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
i only had a couple of pages left.like 3 more chapters of bella's story at the end.
Rockonweanie 3 years ago
This is hilarious! I'm reading back through the comments here and ALL of the positive praise for BD is getting "thumbs-down" ratings and then it hides those comments until you click "show". So, anyone who has ANY positive praise for BD is damned?
Anyway, IMO this is a story about a human girl who falls in love with a Vampire and befriends a pack of Wolves... I guess that's more believable than Bella getting pregnant and calling her kid Renesmee? I mean, grain of salt people! Geesh! Get a grip!!
IamP3ck3R 3 years ago
Someone posted a similar comment a while back, I believe. I realize that this is a fantasy genre (aka not at all realistic), but given the limits of the world created in these novels, I found what happened to be unrealistic. For me, the kid's name wasn't a matter of continuity, just a matter of a bad name.
sagodoy 3 years ago
So what would you have named "the kid" then? Or better yet, go write your version of how you think the book should be and let the world judge it. I mean no offence, but seriously..
YourCellPhoneBill 3 years ago
So were all meant to pretend it was good even though it so wasn`t!!!!I cant belive she even wrote it the book. . .
diaplusmaeve 3 years ago
Nope, you dont have to pretend it isnt good if you dont think its good, BUT going on about all of the books possesed "flaws" (in your minds) is a bit exessive and overplayed..
No offence.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED breaking dawn!
Stephenie Meyer's kids are a huge part of her life and that was probably a way of relating Bella to herself... so I think it makes since...
And if you read back far enough, she foreshadowed Renesmee in Twilight...
She was a vampire in book three! She is a different person, well not a person... so we do not get her rants about how uncoordinated she is.
IT'S A STORY! VAMPIRES ARE NOT REAL SO IT'S NOT A REALISTIC SITUATION... small children know that.
mem43204 3 years ago
I'm sorry but can you please write when Renesmee was foreshawdowed in Twilight beacause I read all of the books more than once(exccept Breaking dawn) and i never saw her foreshawdow anything like that. Please in could the page number so i can check for my self.

I agree with you completely. You pretty much just said everything I had to say about it and more. I am so disappointed with Stephenie right now, I just...
I was expecting so much more. You're right, the last installments should always be the most epic, enjoyable ones. Instead, this one lets you down. I felt like quitting soon after Bella became a vampire, but, I waited for months for the darn thing to come out and paid for it, so, might as well get the whole story.

why cant you just take it as a good story that you enjoyed reading installments of and helped you pass time. i do not understand why people get so emotional about it and get so upset at stephenie's decisions as to what she wrote. it is a work of fiction meant to entertain you. if you were not entertained so be it. there is no need for people to rant and act like someone just betrayed them.

ANYWAY, in my opinion the book contradicted a lot of aspects, I mean how can a male vampire even have an erection, that requires blood in their veins, and they can't blush...too long I know one word...disapointment.
YourDownfall01 3 years ago 7
As someone in my literary circle adequately put it, "The tadpoles aren't swimming anymore" Plus , even as a pro-life supporter, I felt that there was this subtext of "Rarrgh! Abortion is MURDER! Don't even think about it, even if your baby is KILLING you!" around the whole thing.
xandirwasmylover 3 years ago 3
there would just be an entire chapter of 'I'm so tired..,passed out...woke up this happend' and so on, but the timing was awful.

TwiHooked 3 years ago
Not that there's anything wrong with happy endings. I really wanted a happy ending and all (in fact that was the first question I asked my friends who had this book...if Bella got a happy ending and if someone she loved had died). It would've been a lot better if
A) She would talk about Jacob from time to time and how much she still loved him
B) There was an action-heavy fight in the end like it had foreshadowed in the beginning
C)The pregnancy bit wasn't such a huge chunk of the book
BearGirl26 3 years ago
Ugh...the lack of action in this book frustrates me. I love the first 3 mainly because there's also a point in the climax where Bella has to choose to fight for the life of someone she loves and sees it through, usually. This may sound morbid, but I wanted and was expecting bloodshed (or lack thereof) in the final chapters. The ending felt way too sugary sweet...it would've been better if Bella had to sacrifice something for all she had gained (bittersweet though it would have been).
BearGirl26 3 years ago
Book 3 felt really strange. I mean, I think it's really exciting to see what Bella feels as a newborn vampire and all (and, for the most part, she kept a lot of her personality from her human life), but...I hated the ending of this book! I didn't think I'd feel that way about a happy ending where no one dies. I actually would probably feel good about this book if it wasn't so anti-climatic. I was expecting a real fight with the Volturi...and I got nothing.
BearGirl26 3 years ago
And yes, it's true that Bella's baby inside of her wasn't even human...but it just didn't feel natural to me that she wanted to kill herself for the baby. The whole giving birth scene in this book was nightmarish...I felt like I was in hell reading it. And it makes me cringe everytime I remember it. I didn't think the Twilight series could get more gory than that, frankly. *shudders*
BearGirl26 3 years ago
I agree with just about everything you said...I just feel way too confused I read. I feel like I put my whole heart in the first 3 books while reading and then...it just died when I read this last one. It started out really great but the whole pregnancy thing was just very...odd. This series captured my heart because the first book had this wonderful mixture of both realism and fantasy. And I could relate to most of Bella's personality traits to tell you the truth. But...BD is a joke.
BearGirl26 3 years ago
well anyone who's seriously insulted at this video has ridiculously low expectations. renesmee? anyone out there actually liked renesmee?! everything was overreacted in this book, and it all ended too perfectly. the pregancy made NO sense, and neither did bella's stupid sex-and-eggs addiction.
cathythedisasterx 3 years ago 5
um im just wondering....what did u want edward to think after the first nite of their honeymoon? he hurt bella and he blamed himself what did u want him to do? say "wow bella you look great all black and blue" also i like the name renesmee, just my opinion, im am 100% against wat u have said.
weasleygirl1 3 years ago
I've already commented on this question since a few people have sarcastically asked me if I wanted Edward to be happy that he hurt Bella. That's not what I mean at all. Of course he's going to be upset! When I say that I thought his reaction the morning after was excessive, I mean that it seemed way too sulky for Edward's character. He's supposed to be cool, composed, etc., yet in that scene he seems like a whiny teenager. I think his shame could have been portrayed differently.
sagodoy 3 years ago
The character developement in the books have always been mediocre. I think part of it is that the other books you read when you were younger-- and you look at it with a more critical eye now.
I hope some time in the future a great author will write a vampire series that will pwn Twilight so everyone can finally see what a huge bucket of fail the series is.
Oh, and the worst name ever has to be Scorpius Malfoy ;)

I didn't hate the book but I totally agree with you. I loved the wedding and the island. They were definitly the best part of the book. It was great until bella found out she was preggers. WTF!! that was my initial reaction. After that it just got painful to read. And although there were some really good parts that made me laugh(like Jacob's view, the cabin, and Emmett's comments)i ended up feeling really disappointed. There were ALOT of plot holes and inconsistencies and not enough fighting.
ladymimi101 3 years ago
i feel the same about BD. seemed like Stephenie Meyer rushed through it and made some MAJOR flaws. like what about Jacob vs. Edward? Werwolves vs. Vampire? vampires not able to create a child? Bella's parents? there was no explanation. i think Stephenie Meyer wanted to give the fans what they wanted (especially with all the fan fiction)having a baby and all the stuff but it didn't work out the way she planned i assume. over 15 fans have already returnd BD, but Stephenie Meyer is hurt the most.

fromyesterday12 3 years ago
fromyesterday,
oh my gosh.
i never thought of that before!
now that you mention it, i'm disappointed edward didnt give vows.
because edward in this book.. really disappointed me. vows would have been very cute and maybe justified for some of edward's change in character later.

aw, you seem so sweet! lol, but yeah, i know what you mean..but i wanted a lot more intimacy!

Reading all these comments makes me so sad!
I absolutely adored this book.
If we were gonna start asking why, then we should ask why vampires even exist.

the honeymoon:
what did you expect?
for them to get attacked by vampires on their way to isle esme?
renesmee?
it's cute, and you should just get over your self!
i loved it.

Though Renessme is a weird name. Reminds me of Albus Severus. Haha.

Albus Severus *shudders*
renessme ... i dunno

U shud read again.
lilkittycrazie 3 years ago

I loved it. It was a beautiful story.

k now you guys are just overreacting.

I hated breaking dawn so much!!!!!!!!! Loved your review...Thank you!

i agree with you completely except with the part about jacob imprinting.
that part absolutely killed me.
he basically got screwed over this whole book.
the last time i checked he HATED vampires and now he's imprinted with a half vampire??
i hate it.
and i agree with you, i found it really weird that edward can't cry but he can be a father.... it's just bizarre and inconsistent.
DiabolicalLefty 3 years ago
i agree but when jacob imprinted i mean come on bella broke his heart so many times that jacob should have a little part of bella wiith him
h20mermaaid 3 years ago
Well, I think Jacob should have fallen in love on his own with someone else. Real, true not forced on you, love.
I wanted Jacob/Leah to happen! :[

WildGumdrop 3 years ago
I didn't even notice little facts I was imersed while I read it but when I put it down I thought back I felt sick. Not like I wanted another book, but I felt sad I didn't feel like it was the same characters.

YOUR TOTALLY RIGHT!!!
its like S.M stood up halfway through writing B.D grabbed someone who had never even heard of Twilight and said 'right, write what you feel like i dont mind. ill be back in a couple of weeks to check back on u.' I mean it was an awesome series, and then...she..ruined it. Sorry S.M but it was a complete letdown.

fully agree with you. It was inconsistent and choppy. Made no sense what so ever.
bluerockets 3 years ago
Well I kinda liked it and didn't. It just seems that I read these kinda things happening in fanfictions millions of times, so it didn't seem any better, actually some fanfics I read were better... But it was okay
Daisygurl33 3 years ago
ugh...i know. i TOTALLY agree with you...on EVERY aspect. ugh. i might have to post my own video to vent as well.

yeah I agree with your review. it just didn't make sense. im so disapointed because im a huge fan of both twilight and stephanie meyer. the story just didn't feel natural to me. i think i will just try and forget breaking dawn because i actually like the rest of the books.

Vampires cant even get ppl pregnant becaues they have no fluids in their body.
It made no sense.
TERIBLE BOOK.

i had to go back to make sure i was really reading what i was, i kept thinking this can't be real, how awful gag and puke please.
hhein01 3 years ago
I thought it was a little weird and twisted but i wanted to keep reading the book just to see how much more bizarre things can get. I was just ompletely thrown off by everything that happened. I got a little annoyed with some of the characters. Overall it is a really twisted story and i don't know if i'll read it again which i have done with all of the books. It's depressing in a way. :(
twilighttaylorr17 3 years ago 3
I have to say, I quite agree with most of your feelings on the book. I felt thrown off by everything that was happening.
Just strange things kept happening that felt more like an overwrought fanfic, drizzled with wishful thinking than the actual book Stephanie Meyer wrote.
After Bella found out about the pregnancy, I struggled to continue reading. How could Edward's sperm still be alive and well?
Renesmee's name makes me physically cringe. And the middle name "Carlie" *shutters*
miyu007 3 years ago 2
i'm sorry, i cant agree at all. first, renesmee is a unique name, and i can see bella's style in it.
BleedingTwilightFan 3 years ago
*sigh* I agree with YOU!... I really liked Renesmee's name.. and it is very bella! she loved her family and passed it to her daughted=r.. its unique.. Im very happy bella got her hppy ending.. thats why i liked the book most actually, because it was more lighthearted and Bella finally got to be part of something, and not the weakling anymore. I very much enjoyed Breaking Dawn.

THANK you!!!! all this hating on a good book is starting to get on my nerves.
BleedingTwilightFan 3 years ago
I definitely like that Bella got a happy ending. We all know that her character went through some pretty traumatic experiences in Forks, and it's good to know that she had her story wrapped up neatly. I just wish it could have gotten there in a different way.
sagodoy 3 years ago
Wow, great video, you should do some more...
I haven't actually bought the book yet and I was soo looking forward to it, but now I don't want to ruin the Twilight Saga.
I'm absoulutely in love with the characters, but I hate the whole pregnancy thing and the name sounds like a seed (my friend told me that).
Maybe I'll just pretend that the Twilight series ended with Eclipse.
I'm really devestated that she ruined my favourite books.

I agree with everything you said as well. The name "Renesmee" makes me want to vomit. I agree that a lot of it does seem very forced, especially the very end [which I assume you've read by now] with the Volturi. I felt like it really dragged.
ssism 3 years ago 2
Uhm, vampires can cry. Read it again. There's a whole part on the first time Bella cried in vampire form. & tha neame yes horrible, but it grew on me. Renee=human Esme=Vampire Renesmee= half human half vampire.
AmeeReneeM 3 years ago
they can dry sob...they don't have tears (no fluids, etc.)
astrikaew 3 years ago
HA I forgot to make fun of the name in my video. The middle name is pretty awful too. What was it? Carly or something? Yuck. Vomit.
Anyway, I agree with everything you said.
ohthatkristin 3 years ago 2
I just checked out your video, and you're hilarious! Great points. :)
sagodoy 3 years ago
First of all, you are hilarious and need to post more videos. Secondly, I completely agree with you. I thought the whole pregnancy thing was going to be a bad dream Bella had, but unfortunately it turned out to be what the book was about. I hope Stephenie Meyer decides to write a 5th because this one was so horrible. I was majorly let down. I was struggling to finish the book as well.
musicmeg 3 years ago 3
i absolutely wholeheartedly agree with you. This book was extremely disappointing :(
lakemonster345 3 years ago 3
sounds more like breaking hearts. the book was craptastic
Angelelove 3 years ago 2
i agree with everything you said. i have about 2 hundred pages left and idk if i can finish.i would have been more satisfied if bella got turned into a vampire at the very end of the book.
and about the renesmee thing...i dont know what stephenie meyer was thinking. i despise renesemee and how everybody is in love with her.
i was also really hoping that bella would somehow look the same after becoming a vampire, but the fact that she doesnt look the same and that edward likes it, disgusts me
Catveris 3 years ago
I'll grant that Renesmee IS a bad name, but do you honestly expect any better from Bella? Stephanie Meyer comes up with really good names, do I refuse to put the blame on her for this one. This one's all Bella.
I wanted the Volturi to get beat up. *sadness*
bluebunny9 3 years ago 2
Bella isn't a sentimental character, though, so picking that wacko name seemed weird to me. Wouldn't Bella know better? Who knows. Either way it's awful.
sagodoy 3 years ago
It wasn't what I was expecting by any means, and at first I was angry about the fact that somehow venom can work like sperm. I adjusted quickly though. When I got to book three it still felt like Bella, but that started to go downhill. I think the negative responses all boil down to that it felt like it didn't belong in the series. It's ironic, because the cover is looked at the same way. I actually felt like it was better writing, more mature and not as carefree, which isn't what people wanted.
bluebunny9 3 years ago 3
ok i cant believe im going to comment a fourth time, but yes the name is completely insane. i kept saying the name over and over again saying it different ways and emphasizing different syllables to make it sound ok but it didnt work, lol. you would think that the editor would say something about the name!! jeez!
