April Fool's Day was originally the New Year on the French calendar. However, they (French) changed the day of the New Year and anyone who celebrated on April 1 (the old New Year's Day) was called a fool.

Before the pope changed the calender, the new year used to start on april 1st. then he changed it to what we have now, and there wasnt really a means of mass communication, so a lot of people still celebrated the old new years. these people were called April Fools, and had tricks played on them.

@freshtildeathonline Oh, they hired this independent movie company to make a fake trailer for a Legend of Zelda movie and they used tons of CG graphics to make look so believable that I thought it was real because I saw it a few days after April Fool's Day. :-(

It was sad though because they shot enough footage to make an uncut 3 hour movie and they waisted tons of film.

I think if you keep talking about how bad fun things are, you're going to start coming off like a like Jamaican stick in the mud. For Christ's sake, April Fool's is about joking not lying. Besides, the 10 commandments don't say "Thou shalt not lie." It says, "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor." There is a huge difference between the two. So, lighten up and enjoy life a little more.

@freshtildeathonline My point ultimately is that a lot of good can come from April Fools day. People laugh and have fun and there are few things as good for you as laughter.

False witness is about lying in against someone, in a malicious fashion or intent. Not when your girlfriend asks you if these pants make her butt look fat. Keep up the videos. I enjoy watching them.
