  • this has to be one of the best songs on you tube just awsome! great to find videos like this! thanks ;)

  • Our exalted leader!! Thorpie's a bloody legend!!

  • The only thing that I just can't stand is the sloppy look.

  • This is really something!!! The music goes through my ears, heart and out to my legs - I can´t sit still. This is honest, raw and dirty good rock music. I get the same feeling when I listen to THE ZETTLERS. Check up their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". The recordings were made 1965. Can´t believe it!!!!!! It´s super.

  • "Not sure what they were trying to do with the video effects?"

Bad or primitive video tape recording equipment.

  • @51362879

There are quite a few documentaries on Aussie rock that refer to this. It is not actually a visual effect but the result of the shear volume that these guys played at vibrating the valve tubes and internal electronics of the cameras to the point of causing this visual distortion.

  • seriously,this is all class.

  • wow and again wow!!!

  • AS i understand it , there was no attempt at special effects . It was a result of the sheer volume affecting the equipment . Thorpie will always be no 1

  • Go find him and Lobby Loyde with the Coloured Balls doing Guitar Over Drive (GOD)

  • thumbs up, still remember entwining the plaits at Sunbury !

  • Awesome... cant thionk of a word better than awesome.... So.... Fkn AWESOME!

  • billy you sucks

  • this is awesome,,, !!!!

  • LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thorpey involved the crowd like few others before or after. A true rock legend who deserved a FAR bigger audience. Have a listen to "God" if you get the chance

  • Another Country with Fast Cars, Wide Open Spaces, and Smokin' HOT ROCK! Slicker than a load of sharkshit! Learnin' to speaK aussie....

  • Sharp as a shark-skin suit.

  • In Norwegian:

    K.K.Rytter.

    (Rider=Rytter)

  • I wonder why "stimulation" is not that popular; is it considered too different than the other Billy albums?

  • AAAAAHHHHHH GET>>>IT

  • THORPIE

    you were the best

blast the roof of any hall

always fights when he and lobby lloyd performed together

saw his at festival hall in maybe 72 when he was leaving to go overseas and boy dig the old joint jump that night

Thanks Thorpie (that's what us cool dudes colled him) hahaha

  • saw that concert too fucking loud my ears still have'nt recovered also great music bowl show with lots of other great bands 72ish???

  • Got ride CC Rider at the Ukiah and Willits.

  • billy Thorpe & the Aztecs ,THE BEST !!!

  • best version of this song I've found on here!

  • LOL... not sure if those are "Video effects" Just looks like a bad tape. Excellent nonetheless as Billy's work is hard too find. Thanx !

  • as i understand it those 'video effects' are not bad tape, but distortion created within the cinecamera by the incredible volume that Thorpie played at. this distortion was evident on most of Thorpie's old GTK performances recorded by the ABC in the early 70s. More grunt than a truckload of pigs, as the saying goes...

  • Aye I heard he always had the loudest gigs

  • you're right about the distortion. The cameras weren't up to it.

  • Not just the cameras, my ears are buggered because of Thorpie, permanent tinnitus in both ears. Christ he was loud!

  • One of my favourites - heaps better than the Detroit Wheels

  • A real fun jam
