Every time I use this outside it washes out to where the screen is completely white. I have tried the white balance in all modes, but nothing seems to help. It works fine inside. Any suggestions?

this camera has low quality recording unless you have a LOT of light like a sunny day outside. The only reason why I say it's "terrible" is because in medium to low-light scenarios, like inside of an average lighted house, the camera tries to auto detect light sensitivity and adjusts the video according to lighting in real time as you record. Makes for very unpredictable lighting scenarios. I own one and I've filmed hours and hours on this thing.

@funnystudios09 it depends on the size of the SD card you use... the bigger the card the longer it can record.. I would recommend a 4GB card which can record for like 2 hours ;)

@bionicman9988 Get the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 or the Kodak zi8. I recommend those budget camcorders over this one ;)

@keesee4141 Honestly as of right now I would more recommend the Kodak zi8 or sanyo xacti VPC-Cg10... You can get these for around $115 on Amazon and they perform much better ;)

Question during recording how do you pause the video your are recording?

When i try to pause during the record i press the middle red button and the video saves when i want to pause it! Is there even i pause button?

@yellowvizard no there isnt a pause button... my suggestion stop it and restart it and then you can put together all your videos in a movie editor like windows movie maker :)

I actually like that it's powered by regular batteries. With the lithium ion batteries I always feel hostage to its charge time in fear that I'll shorten its lifespan. Thx for review.

I did have a question though, what FPS can this camera capture at 1080p and 720p resolution? The Zi8 that you mentioned in another comment can do 60fps on 720p and 30fps on 1080p.
