america and the other western allies only fought 20% of the german military the other 80% was fought by the soviet union. if it werent for the soviets the war in europe would of lasted a lot longer but the allies still would of most likely won

I think what should be taken into account is the both combatants the were in this video (American and German) were able to put the past behind them. I am a Canadian, my great uncle was a German who fought on the Russian front. I do not see him as a murdering bastard but as a man who did what he was told to do. A lot of Germans had to go along or face the repercussions. Can we not move on from the past and try to make a future without war?

@harmagician1 Rommel is a tactical military genius. Hands down one of the most respected if not the most respected General of the wermacht. Back then he was revered on both sides and to this day, he still is. Rommel was also the one in charge of the defense of the Normandy invasion.

These men simply served their country under orders, as did the soldiers fighting for the Allies. It was separate divisions of the SS that were specifically assigned to the 'Jewish problem' - not your average german soldier who fought bravely on the front.

I think what should be taken into account is the both combatants the were in this video (American and German) were able to put the past behind them. I am a Canadian, my great uncle was a German who fought on the Russian front. I do not see him as a murdering bastard but as a man who did what he was told to do. A lot of Germans had to go along or face the repercussions. Can we not move on from the past and try to make a future without war?

If the 88mm guns had been in place at Normandy, and the extra divisions been sent west when Rommel requested them, the outcome of the D-Day invasions would have been vastly different. As it happens, the Allied landings were assisted greatly by a serious lack of any proper German defence along the coast at the time – by fault of German High Command.

The German forces fighting the Allies in France and later in Germany were heralded as some of the bravest and most courageous men by the Allies – British and American alike. These men simply served their country under orders, as did the soldiers fighting for the Allies. It was separate divisions of the SS that were specifically assigned to the 'Jewish problem' - not your average german soldier who fought bravely on the front.

I feel like a soldier is nearly the instrument of the state, the state is responsible for the crime, and the soldier is nearly an instrument. For a soldier to see his enemy as anything other than this and harbor genuine hate for them makes him no longer a soldier, but a murderer. Germans weren't all Nazi or Allegmeine SS, many were just soldiers and Christians

normandy was one of the worst bloodiest landings ever, in any war. it reminds me of when they fought wars in waves of troops when they would walk into the battle and the first groups were casulties, fatally so. just to get an inch of ground.

i agree. the Germans to a great extent, reverse engineered the ancient Vedic weapons and technologies from India and Tibet (the only surviving cultures with Aryan religion influence at the time). being a vedic brahman having a great knowledge of Sanskrit, i would say that it was really surprising to see the intellect of german scholars, who translated sanskrit in german and unlocked many secrets in Himalayan mountains and the arctic regions. guess who owns that stuff now.
