@definitedoll In response to your question, that song was "Let the Good Times In." A version of that particular tune was featured on the album "Come On Get Happy: The Very Best Of The Partridge Family."
It's interesting that General Mills bought two spots for Cheerios--Kellogg's subsequently became a main sponsor and the cast did commercial for Rice Krispies.
I didn't like the whole put-down attitude of that Score Natural commercial; that old man who cut down that guy because he had vitalis in his hair, along with the derisive emphasis used by the background narrator who leaned heavily on the phrase "the good old days." Times would change. By 1982, Paul Sorvino's character would be back in style again and those mod-look guys in double-breasted jackets, flowered shirts and scarves tied around their necks would be the ones being laughed at!
The 70s did have a lot of funny commedies no doubt. Better than todays shows, but the music was terrible. I dont remember most of these commercials since I was born after shows like the Partridge family but they were funny even in reruns.
thanks for that walk down memory lane with those commercials playing in the partridge family, it was really nice,i will buy a box of cheerios tomorrow because of these commercials, see if it still tastes as good now as it did back in the day,
Wasn't it nice to have "clean" commercials back then. No viagra or other trash. So glad I grew up when I did. I never missed an episode of The Partridge Family!
I really enjoyed the taste of coke in the bottles back then. It was soooo gooood. Still is, but the bottles are so expensive now. Until 1978 I remember a small town that my Grandpa and I drove through once in a while, had an outdoor coke machine (long vertical glass door, rollers for the small bottles) for a quarter. Those were the best tasting cokes ever.
The reason that coke (and pepsi) doesnt taste as good as they did back then is because they both stopeed using sugar in the 80's and switched to high fructose corn syrup. It just doesnt tatste the same.
This is awesome...thx! I was born in Jan, 1971 and my Ma told me how sheloved the Partridge Family...I can picture her watching this while pregnant with me!
This was very good to see.I recall asa kid on 9/25,1970 trying to get our color tv set to work right to see this.Unfortunately It did not happen at that time.I am certainly glad to have at least seen the commericals.
protein does not have to come from animals. I am a vegetarian and get my protein from soy based products, beans, cottage cheese, etc. animal meat is just one source..
how did you get this video? did someone actually film the television screen during the original 1970 broadcast with an 8mm camera?? Home video recorders were not available in 1970.
Me too man, I love this> I still have VHS tapes made in 1981 that have the commercial trailer with Shirleys voice too. rare to have them keep those on in 1981.
That kid in the Cheerio's commercial is now probably 50 years old? Ouch!

"Feeling loopy" is a better term for the kid in the red jacket!

The little kids hair seems to be really dark in this episode, maybe he dyed it bronze red in later epsiodes. LOL Poor Danny.

That night, my parents and I went shopping, and after waiting for my father for a long time, my mother had him paged.
I had turned 13 a week later (On October 2), and my sister was born three days later (on October 5).
