I'm don't really care about the most subgenres or anything, but I really don't hear much death metal stuff in Sentenced's second album; it sounds so...light to say; the vocals sound high pitched, the guitars quite windy if that makes any sense. It's just missing that crushing sound that I hear in a lot of death metal. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

@blasphemator I wouln't call their second album death metal. It's sounds quite lighter and reminds me more of melodic black metal or something similiar to to the earlier melodic death metal stuff out there. (Carcass, ATG, ect) Listen to ''When The Moment of Death Arrives'' from their first LP and then to ''My Skin is Darker than Thine''. There's quite a difference. Both are solid albums though.

...Then when they got Axenrot to be a part of the project (coincedently the same time mikael was jamming with him for opeth, so maybe they already spoke about dan being second guitarist and finding a drummer if the oppertunity arose) dan took his place where he probably wanted to be the whole time then the band, now a five piece, took it more seriously. As for the "let someone else take glory for once" comment, im not realy one to focus on just the singer i listen to the whole band. CHEERS.

I will admit he is a good musician, singer etc... but I honestly don't think that he is metal in even the slightest way, so I do my best not to support him, because there are way too many posers in deathmetal these days and he's just another to add to the list. Bands dont just come together because of one mans ego, it takes a bunch of dudes to make a band so usualy you end up in a band because of circumstance and because who you know and because you want to be in a band with particular people. absolutely not, Bloodbath is my favorite band, more so now that he's not in the band. and he's not even in hypocrisy and never was. The reason I don't like him is because he seems to be the type that has to be in the spotlight, on bloodbaths first album he played drums, and on the second all of the sudden he's guitar and backing vocals, I find that to be a little ridiculous. and he has been an active member in over 25 bands, many of which aren't death metal, he just seems like an asshole to me.

Personally I wouldn't want to be in that many bands. 2 or 3 is about the max that I would be in(currently in 2). the reason being is because it's pretty unfair to your other band mates, ity pretty much says " I'm better than all of you so I need another 20 fuckin bands to support my awesomness". If being in that many bands is what it takes to support his ego, then he's a fuckin asshole. and Deathmetal is underground in itself, some more popular than others but it's an underground genre.

As for the whole drums to guitar thing, it just makes me mad because on the first album everybody but him did backing vocals and he got fuckin jealous and had to be lead guitar and backing vocals, which in my mind is pretty unnecessary because he is the lead singer/lead guitar of multiple other bands so he should've just shut the fuck up and let somebody else get the glory for once, and had he stayed on drums he would probably still be in the band. but he's a jerk so he's not in the band anymore

...Maybe im wrong but with what he's achieved i cant imagine him being jealous of being the only guy in a band that isnt singing. The way i see it is bloodbath started with Dan, Mikael, Jonas and anders just jamming. None of them realy wanting to be drummer because they all play guitar as a first instrument but dan just taking the liberty, maybe because he recorded their first demo at his studio where as you can imagine his kit would be set up...or maybe for no reason, it just happend...
