  • Recording a 10 minute long remix on Virtual DJ Pro, 34.61GB :O Compressed using Windows Movie Maker - 56.1 MB Thank you so much WorldTravelerMan!

  • The video in WMM is all black with just audio, and when i try and save it gives me this"WMM could not transfer files make sure the originals are intact, that you have enough space etc." i have over 400GB free so space is not the issue and the files are there so wth?

  • I had a 353,789KB video (it was 1min35s) that I had made using a HD video editing software and simply placing it into windows movie maker and rendering it reduced it to 34,397KB, thanks :D

  • When I record BF3 for 1:00, the size is 2Gb minimum. WHY! :O

  • my video toke 1597 minutes my video was 1 hour and 2 minutes and 2 seconds

  • @MrEDGARSCRAZYVIDEOS phew! i just finished uploading a vid that took 351 minutes!

  • i used an avi in windows movie maker 2.6 n it said its not supported so i went to new version of movie maker and it made it smaller but changed it to audio and no video D: help !!

  • My 1 minute video is 8 gb large.... -.-

  • @snait1707 My 13 Minute Video is 15 Gigs...

  • @DigitKid14 my 3:55 video is 34.2 gb

  • @snait1707 22.98GB(24:13) O.O i DEFINITELY need to use this

  • @snait1707 mine is 10...

  • for youtube video 360p (except for 720p & 1080p) with high quality and smaller the file size, i recommend to use the mp4 codec normal format (Apple TV) AVC H264

  • Window Media Maker is suck. Oh, not really.

  • Thanks so much! It's such a quicker upload and the same quality! Awesome!

  • Thank you sir for this video, I really mean that. I was wasting time before, trying to upload large files on my old account.

  • Very good video. Do you think youcould do one on how to edit the videos now? I am having so much trouble with this program. It wont show all the clips, just the entire movie in one clip instaed of breaking it down into little clips. All I get is a green screen on the divided clips that are supposed to contain my divided up video. If I dont drag all of them down though, I dont get the whole video. Thanks N advance

  • YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!!!

really, you don't know how grateful I am. thanks so much buddy.

  • thamnkd

  • I thought WMM decreased the quality a crap load?

  • 440 mb video? hm mine is 22.74 gb's

  • @JD8853 Sorry for you man... and I feel that I'm struggling with a 5 GB and 1 minute long video --- Need to compress in Full HD without loosing that much quality

  • its GOOOD i have to admit but it didnt let me compress it to a 16:9 video

  • Good stuff. I made the movie with windows live movie maker 188mb. Ran it through again and noticing the other options to save movie for diffrent things,email,hd,pc,ect.. it came out to 55mb.Thanks

  • Thanks 1 minute video in HD 5GB to 33MB!

  • Thankyou Soooooooo much!!!!!! my vid went from 5GB to 130MG LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • talked a little too much, but that being said... VERY thorough and only had to play the video once, so it was indeed VERY helpful.

Thanks for the video!! It was a big help

  • i tried doing this on live movie maker will it be the same

  • hey man! i just saw ur video and i want to ask that can we compress torrent file, because i have heard from my friends that if a movie has a size of 1gb it can be compressed and the size after compression will be reduced to 400 mb that is amazing is'nt it? so tell me if this could happen!

  • and just re compress it again :D

  • depends on how many part you get when u import the video to movie maker. greater the number of parts, lesser the amount of compression. but it works. :-)

  • as the file gets smaller the quality gets worse.

  • Thanks this really works. If I have question on other computer files can i ask it 2 u?

    TNX again

  • Too bad I did this and my file went from 45MB to 50MB

  • fuck your mum slain

  • This is a load of BS. Of cource there will be loss of quality when reducing the filesize. My filezize dide get about half the size of the original file. The resolution stays the same, but the dataspeed went from about 45000 kbps to 25000 kbps, which is more like a 720p movie then my original 1080p movie. And it reduced the bitrate for the sound aswell...

  • @ronny0078 how many minutes/hours of high quality HD 1080p video will one of those 1TB external hard drives hold?

  • @whole27 a round of 256 Movies Dude Nice....

  • @CAOMPE1014 That much? By all accounts, a few minutes of DSLR or video footage in general takes up a lot of memory so i can't imagine being able to put that much footage on 1TB...

  • @whole27 im telling you for me, 1 tb is not much i got a lot of movies, programs and games (i got like 500 gb of that) and 4 years of personal pictures and videos compilation of 200 gb so ...

  • @CAOMPE1014 wait, u first said its a lot of space and then you say its not much space...which is it? Just in terms of video files, particularly DSLR video footage....how many hours of high quality HD video files can i put on 1 TB??

  • @whole27 im telling you, i suppose a movie is 2.5 hours and it waste like 4 gb so in a 1 tb you can have like 256 movies with a nice camera i think the terms will be the same

  • @CAOMPE1014 ok that answered my question and that is what i wanted to know, Thank You

  • @whole27 and i got crappy cameras, i imagine how much memory i could waste with a dslr camera ooh and i forgot all the dvds i ripped lol

  • I hate yo desktop ... Its looks like puke on yo monitor ...

  • You're dumb. The only reason it got so compressed was because your AVI file was either an uncompressed video file or a lossless avi file. Lossless, is a codec which just compresses it a bit. Uncompressed basically speaks for it self, it doesn't compress.

  • said sorry*

  • Actually you ahve asid 3 minutes and me it says 40 minutes =0 and it wont comme to 3 minutes

  • hurry the godamn fuck up with the point pleeeease

  • Why don't you just export it british fag?

  • @ilovekoopies British???? WTF??LOMAO...He sounds like he's from Brooklin!!

  • for some reason when i render a video thats 32 seconds long it comes out to 3.1 GBs! and i use Sony Vegas Pro 11. can someone help me!?

  • 20 minutes long and only 400 MB uncompressed? I record videos less then 10 minutes that come out to the same size...

  • just recorded 40 GB worth of video. I LOVE YOU

  • Hopefully this works for 3.9GB files

  • OMG! Thank you so much - I when for 1.5gb to just 7mb!

  • mine is 7.5 gb and its only 10 minutes xD fuck virtual dub

  • check my vid works

  • Thank You for help :) Instead of 5 DVD I can right now use only one to burn my video:)

  • Um, Linux Ubuntu doesn't have Windows Movie maker. What do I use to compress videos on Linux?

  • my file got bigger

  • Thank you, Using 3PG file type btw.

  • You Rock man!!! awesome it compressed my 700mb file in 30mb!!!

  • it awesome! man

  • @smallheavenlyflower You don't worry my friend. My school is 101% times worse and we deal with this situation all the time... UGH.

  • How to make this video 5:40 seconds faster -- just tell us to transfer the file through windows movie maker

  • thx

  • mine was not working.

  • 20 sec vid is 1gb in my case:o (Lossless AEE)

  • It works but i dont recommend this because it affected my video quality :(

    good video though :)!

  • ty it worked wonderfully for me

  • would it still compress even if the file is already a wmv video format????

  • took me a few hours for it to work...then it was about a gig bigger. wtf?

  • you tube wont let me upload a 18 min video.would that help

  • I was sure this is not gonna work, but it worked :).

    Thanks very much.

  • Gotta say thanks, cause now I can upload videos faster

  • Your Video is helpful but i have videos in mkv format.... which is not supported by windows movie maker.... how can i compress it

  • Thank you!

  • You actually loose qualaty moron where it says best qualaty look the options plus when you put the video just dont add it as clips will take longer to put all the file in it, therefore will be in separate parts as you seen, no needs to copy all parts just one.

  • you sound exhausted

  • This is a really great idea but...

I downloaded Move Maker 2.6 and fixed it so that it would open (because it wasn't opening), but now, when I upload my .avi, Move Maker only takes it as a audio file and won't play the video. I downloaded a codec to fix it, but it didn't work. Help!! Thanks

  • awesome!

  • thanks mate

  • Thanks

  • i HATE camstudio. It makes the video files super sized. Camtasia is better.

  • Thanks alot mate!

  • thnx a lot man

  • this made my video go from 720p to 240p >:(

  • @darkprince39 you can chose how many "p" it should compress to, inside WMM

  • As much as I use movie maker, I didn't realize that. Thanks

  • Really useful, thanks a lot, fella!

  • thank you very much

  • Can youo do this on Windows Live Movie Maker? Because I can't figure it out. If you know, please reply in a jiffy.

  • This is absolutely awesome! I went from 800mb to 39mb! :D Thanks a bunch.

  • You sound like snot from American Dad. And that's a compliment. :D.

  • So I downloaded windows movie maker, and I took all these steps but when I load videos into my storyboard it only plays my audio. Also when I saved it, no media player would play it...solution?

  • you have the the most amazing voice i just wanna hire you to say things all day.......

  • windows movie maker 2011 updaate was complete garbage, now i dont no how to do this :(

  • @Opentoideazz yh me too :'(

  • @Opentoideazz Thankfully, Movie Maker 2.6 is compatible with Windows 7. Live movie maker was garbage.

  • When I upload a video, the sound quality is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Each of my videos without audioswap is complete ear rape to everyone. Anyone here know a way to get better sound quality? I use Wave Out Mix.

  • Skip first two minutes of this video and your still good

  • THANK YOU 2 gb to 250mb. THANK YOU

  • I have 336 GB of minecraft videos.. Windows 7 does not have WMM, any more suggestions?

  • @ThatGuyWhoFanDubs I'm using WMM on my Windows 7 computer, I'm sure you have it just gotta keep looking ;D

  • @ThatGuyWhoFanDubs download windows live movie maker for windows 7

  • the video i need to compress is 8 minutes long ... and its 15.2 GB

  • @aNoobyKill Let me guess you recorded CoD gameplay with a Hauppage.

  • @xXJaxMehoffXx yes gameplay, no dazzle, and it was cuz after effects not the recording program

  • I have an 8GB video.... not cool

  • this does not prserve the quality the quality get crapy after this

  • watch this amazing video to compress video files

    /watch?v=gRrnnSAOyyo

  • wmm is crap. you lose a ton of quality, or atleast that is what i experience. it looks ok in the preview box but once saved to your computer the quality turns out shit

  • LOL 440mb is big!!!! WTF!!! My vids are 2Gb and take 40 min to upload

  • For Windows 7, I would personally go for handbrake. It converts any format into mp4 or mkv without loosing any video quality.

  • this is not best way ..you loose ton of video quality. convert to mpeg 4 high res.

  • Thank you!

  • He tried to automatically exit out of VLC so we don't notice the crappy quality of the wmv.

  • Thanks awesome tutorial.

  • If the quality is the same is debatable. I always get blurred transistions when I convert my file using WMM.

  • Thanks!

  • @EvadeTheRobots No, but it will make it worse quality

  • Thank you very much.

  • thank you now i dont have to wait 3 hours to upload a 4 minute video

  • lol, if you edit a film together only using after effects, it becomes huge! I found that out the hard way when I had a 3:45 long video that was 5.7 gb!

  • Didn't work for me on windows 7 :(

  • @Funnyishful realy?

  • @Funnyishful Can I ask approximately how long that took you?

  • Windows Live Movie Maker measures Megabyte/minute of the video. I just installed Windows Movie Maker 2.6 and I'm waiting until my videos are done importing... I'll reply to my own comment to see if the video shrank without the quality dropping. Nice tutorial, man.

  • Comment removed

  • skip to 1:50 to get to the actual compression stuff, thats how much this guy talks..

  • Thank you very much. In response to the idiot that said you talk to much, you see, that is why we have a bunch of idiots in this country because they want to do everything without learning anything. Of course, he may have researching nuclear medicine or something and needed the info in a hurry.

  • This video changed my 3.13GB file into 13mb .... that is 250 times less.....some things just cant be explained. :D

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sure the info is helpful but you talk too much. Makes it hard to get through. I mean this constructively, not offensively.
