I finally got this just today playing on GBC. It took me like a month worth of sessions in the bio but I finally feel like I beat Tetris. The last real challenge is the million point challenge but I think I'll pass on that one haha.

I bought a Game Boy at a Yard Sale and it came with Tetris and a Rechargeable battery port, It was ten dollars BUT it wasn't portable because it required the battery pack to be plugged in...to the WALL!

Have you tried the A-Type from heart mode, starting at level 9? After 100 lines it starts to go very fast. It's fun! My record i a little bit over 300 lines! Entering the heart-mode is done by holding down the arrow-down and press the start button while the player1/2 selection screen i shown (I know you already know that, but can be cool for othe people to know!). Have you seen my Tetris AI game? It can make 100.000.000 lines in four days without filling the 10x20 board more than 50% any time?

I've read allmost all the comments and I have something to had. It's possible to do the same thing, level 9 heart, high 5, by holding the game boy in your hands and playing with your thumbs. I used to do it very often. I even did it once with 2 tetris, several times with 1 tetris + 1 or 2 triple2.

Twice a year, I get my game boy out of the closet, do it 5 or 6 times in hour, and put back the game boy in the closet for the next 6 months.

Ok sick but where's the gamble? You have to set up and lose 50 games to get one chance at a double-tetris game, then 500 to get a chance at a triple, ? for a quad then you're in the high scores. I know you know but for the other commenters I repeat: Tetris is gambling to get high score. You have the sick action and of course no serious playa uses thumbs they are tooooo slow. nice technique!

I still have that gameboy but everytime when I try to play it for after 5 mins it shuts off. Those are really old dude reason why it doens't work anymore because the newer stuff came out like Nintendo DS and PSP's. I suggest you get the Gameboy Advance if you want to play it again I guess.

i find it impossible that you all did this at 10. when you started the system up were you holding down?  because you have to understand he's doing it with the Heart, which increases the level speed by 10 lvls basically.

I tried the Level 9 Heart Height 0 and it's the most insane thing ever... It is so fast I don't even have a second to THINK how I should turn the block so it will fill the empty place in the row and make the row explode. When I finally know how I should turn the block, it is already in the row. So I only got 45 score until the blocks went to top of screen and I lost.

However on Level 9 A-Mode without heart I got a lot like 2300.

@NoiseBlizzard: 999999 ist the maximum on the original gameboy version and also you cannot compare different versions of tetris, it is unlikely that a mobil phone version runs at exactly the same speed, probably the mobile phone doesn't even have the same framerate as the gameboy.

I've got the classic Tetris and I couldn't do that to save my life! LOL I may be getting an iPod for my birthday so I may put Tetris on it (I think the iTunes store has it - I've heard it mentioned that it's one of the only 3 games that work on the iPod Classic) anyway, here's a challenge for you. Buy it from the iTunes store, put it on an iPod, and try playing like that with a click wheel! LOL
