Unfortunately, it's quite obvious that his voice is being ammended. There's no need for it, though. Rivers is incredible and wouldn't need it. But, AOL are bastards, so...

@TysonPBenn you can definitely hear auto-tune in his voice... its ALL OVER these aol sessions. Its not necessarily a bad thing, its really common, if you listen closely you can hear the scoop up to the note. Its just a stylistic thing, on their more lo-fi recordings (like pinkerton or some of hurley) they don't use it and his pitch control just sounds different on those recordings.

@TysonPBenn Just to clarify: they ARE using pitch correction on Rivers' voice here. AOL does this on a lot of their AOL Sessions recordings. They record the session and correct the pitch for the microphone track afterwards, not likely in an ear monitor or live in any way. I'd say they did a better job with pitch correction on this one than the Island in the Sun 2005 AOL Session--which sounded very robotic.
