  • Hi, come to listen my solo of "Fade to black" please. Thank's :)

  • very good men awesome

  • Your thumbs too much down on the fretboard, you should practise more of your techniques first before you post .

  • dude awsome cover!! u did some mistakes but u rocked.

  • at least ur trying

  • sorry but honestly you suck, tune that guitar and practice

  • i think ur a little out of tune

  • have you ever been to a class???? the thumb goes behind the frets!!!!!!!!!!

  • para llevar solo 11 meses tokando lo hiciste de puta madre! seguro ke ahora lo clavas ;)

  • O.0 If i have to see one more minute of your thumb moving all over the place I may just kill myself

  • your thumb up there is annoying the shit out of me!

  • ive read some good critics, but most of all, TIMING

  • malo!!! muy malo..

  • il pollice dove cazzo lo tieni diobooooooooo tocca suonare correti

  • i have an Rg too! great guitars.

  • Sound good man - i just posted to intro solo. Check it out if you get a change and let me know what you think.

  • todo mall!!xD

  • You got the idea man, keep it up

  • uhhh.. first off, not to be mean, but you asked for criticism.

    1) smoother playing, get into the music, you sounded like a poorly programmed robot.

    2) keep your finger away from the frets.. it looks awkward

    3) work on the notes.. hammer ons and pull offs will get you far.

    other than that, good job.

  • I'm sure a lot of people gave you good technical advices.

So mine is: man, dont dance while you wait.

    That was UN-MANLY.

I mean... its a virile song and you ruined it with that hip shake. hahahaha

  • sounds well but work on your bends mate, in some places I cringed with them being off pitch lol but other than that it was good. And about the level of your guitar, dont have it TOO low or you'll end up playing more sloppy, it doesnt matter about "style" or "looking cool" its about the playing xD Unless your going pro, dont worry bout it, focus on the playing and as some people have mentioned, the "feel" to the song itself!

    -Jack

  • very good cover but you must improve your bends, there are some mistake on them.

  • Comment removed

  • get ur thumb away from the fretboard thats a nasty habit

  • @dasheefo

Not really. I do it alot and i see alot of professional players doing it. Some artists ( john mayer, Jimi Hendrix) used their thumbs to play notes on the low E.

  • @dasheefo It's not a nasty habit to have your thumb on the fretboard man. It's all about comfort and he seems comfortable playing like that.

  • @6metall6maniac6 actually while all good lead guitarists are comfortable while playing, its about establishing a proper technique so that you become comfortable while also playing correctly. which this kid is NOT

  • @dasheefo i dont think he wants to basically start playing again...lol...

  • @dasheefo Nasty habit? I don't think so, I mean, in the live version of this song played in Seattle, even Kirk Hammett himself does it during the solo. But moving on, this cover kind of sucks.

  • you want help first alternating picks 2 ur pinkey can only help not hurt

  • I learned tornado of souls in one day and I've been playing for two years

  • you need to work on hammerons and pulloffs, alternate picking. and also pick your guitar up a bit it strains your ams restricting your movement. You dont have to have it up to your chest like a homosexual but have the body of the guitar up to your belly button or a little higher

  • You got that guitar and only at 11 months.. *sigh* and just on alternate picking and hammer ons.

  • work on alternate picking and ur hammer ons and pull offs other wise sounds good

  • You have to use more Hammer Ons and Pull Offs ;)

  • retard ucio sa taba

  • I don't understand how people play that low. I find it so uncomfortable. So straining on stretches in comparison to wearing it higher(properly).

  • it's more stylish if you play low ;)

  • You don't look cool wearing it high, it makes you look stupid.

  • Not gonna lie, it's excessively homosexual if you're playing guitar to look cool.

  • @JadedRebellion thats so tru

  • beautilful guitare

  • Haha 11 months. Bullshit

  • i learned the whole song in 3 days and ive played for probably around 1 yr and a half.

  • @austynfuller Im learnin it and i played for a yearb and when you hear it you think yikes but so far its suprisingly easy and by the way to all fanboys this part isnt critism: Kirk wheres that band round his hand for 2 reasons to stop hiom bleeding and to help him pick faster. He wears it for this solo 2. WTF i can nearly play all of it and i dont bleed?

  • your so close, notes r there but timing is key, good job anyway

  • Use down strokes from 0:28 - 0:32

  • Raise your guitar a little :) No need to hold it this low....It's ok when you're playing rhythm part of the song, but if you're solo guitarist ..naah.... Compare james and kirk and you'll see what i mean....other than that...use your pinky in the end part of the solo....it'll help you a lot..it might be harder at first, but you'll see:)

  • Pretty decent for 11 months of playing. But whats with ur thumb position?

  • nice i got the same guitar with a reverse headstock

  • i find it hard to watch.. very good effort, and very obvious he knows hows to play it, but damn. work on your timing, and feel the music. you're very close, but you if you're playin the lead in the song, LEAD!! don't let the music pass u up, control it, play that shit!!

  • 11 months and you don't know how to play it...

  • realy good soloing for 11 months, how long did it take you to learn and play this solo?

  • 11 months XD

  • your not feeling the song at all your just playing the notes give the song a little feeling and make your fingers work instead of just playing the notes

  • haha, looks like Schecter : )

    Nice playing duud

  • haha the first thing that came to mind when i saw this was is that a schecter or an ibanez... lol

  • its ibanez

  • I think the guitar is Ibanez,like I got.

  • if you practice, even 30 minutes a day you get that good.

  • sick cover

  • WOW 11 months thats pro

  • great cover mate just work on some of those high notes. everyone has some flaws sometimes anyway so keep praticing

    go metallica

  • Great job! you just need to wok on those higher couplets a little, they sound a little sloppy. And just try to hit those notes. Keep up the good work! :)

  • i like your guitar what is it?

  • you are really good...i just think you should use more your pinky..keep up the great work

  • sorry, totally out of riythm.

  • Farout,

That is a NICE guitar for 11 months,

    Can i have?

  • DU ER EN RAMM PÅ GITTARN GONÆRN:):) luv'n'pis

  • ur thums is a weird somtimes but nice cover

  • really 11 month ? hard to believe

  • nice cover for only played 11 months.

do you practice every day and if you do how many hours a day?

  • holy crap dude 11 months??? keep playing you'll be amazing

  • tienes una buena guitarra y no sabes usarla... buuu!!!!

  • Gracias, tu es muy feo! (:

  • @beastrafe Agree

  • Keep practicing

  • just the same as my friend....

  • less squeelies at da start lol not tht kinda song but damn dude good job for 11 months! and the ending was a bit... haha :P

  • dude i kno people that have been playing for years that don't sound no where near this good.

  • i luv the way this song sounds,it has a lot emotion in it

  • down pick your palm mutes on top string..alternates sound sloppy other than that great job especially after 11 months of play

  • good, practice more ;)

  • I was wondering what other songs you learned after only 11 months. I know that I did not learn solo's with 11 months experience. Althouth these days technology allow's people to learn this stuff quick. I learned by watching my friends play in bands in Hollywood, CA.

  • okay its good mate :D i'll give ye that but you need more flow and still a lot work with picking

but anyway its veery good done in almost a year

  • 11 months? amazing

  • is this really amazing to play after 11 months of guitar? this is a serious question because I have been playing guitar for 5 months and I can do this solo near-perfectly and I was wondering if it is good. Honestly don't flame me plz

  • Hi. Yeah, and I thinks its even more amazing if you can pull this solo off after only 5 months of practise! I actually doubt that is would be "nearly-perfect", but maybe it is! Would be cool if you could put up a video. cheers

  • First time I picked up a guitar I just started playing and played this better than Kirk.

  • How can you play it better than someone who actually made it up? The way he he plays it is what it is supposed to sound like so the closest you can come to playing it better than him is playing it exactly like he does....Oh and I am talking about the album version, because sometimes live it doesn't sound so great, but I don't think that means he can't play it correctly I think he is just trying to change it up a little... No offence to you by the way.

  • I'm pretty sure it was just a poor comeback to what someone else said - I am nowhere near how perfect kirk can pull this off.

I think someone was slagging it off, saying how good they we're instead...and I hate ego.

But this is a great attempt, espetially since you've been playing only a year.

  • seriously this solo is not that hard especially on a thin neck ibanez metal guitar you probably suck

  • omg, whats the big deal about this. got no life? anyone can pull of a solo, but the question is how you do it. I probably bet you did this solo 10000 times better than him after 11 months of practise. Because youre the best, of course. And I probably suck? yes, probably do. I have only been playing since I was 4 years old and I was just giving this guy a little credit and now noobs like you are gonna thrash him buy saying stuff "its not easy, blah blash, Im better than kirk, blah". Noone cares.

  • this solo is easy, hands down. if you've been playing since 4 you should know that.

  • Have I ever said this is a hard solo?

  • "OMG YOU CAN PLAY THIS YOU'VE ONLY been playing for 11 months omg thats crazy"

  • eeh? I said "11 months? amazing". whats your problem? you seem to have problems with people giving other people credit.

  • well if you knew how to play well you would have realized that this would be a very easy solo to learn after 11 months. it would not be "amazing." you don't know how to play guitar, so just stop replying now

  • omg, you really are stupid. Come back when youve grown up. if its possible. idiot

  • Dude wtf is your problem? No, this is not a "very easy solo to learn after elven months". Are you really that self centered that you can give anyone else credit for what they've done? Ive been playing for about six months and there's no way in hell I'd even be able to come close to touching this solo. Dont be an ass

  • i saw your video, you're not very good yet, that's why. i have been playing for 7 months and have practiced every day so that is why this took me 2 hours to learn...on a les paul.

  • Yeah, I know Im not very good. I made that perfectly clear in the description. And two hours after seven months? Did you take lessons?

  • agentzer00 , this is not a simple solo to learn after 11 months.. i have played the guitar for about 8 months now , i can play this solo , not has good has this guy , but preety damn well, you should give credit to other people for theyr hard word and dedication.

  • rofl 8 months ya right post a video .. and us see -.- i bet u cant even do Nothing else Matters solo :P

  • I have nothing to show to you , i know what i play, i play many metallica stuff, nothing else matters ( full with the IMBA solo -.- ) , jump in the fire ( no solo) , master of puppets ( melodic solo only ) welcome home sanitarium, trapped under ice, and many many more , and i dont play just metallica , most of it are indeed metallica ( great flaw in my guitar learning skillz ) and MANY MANY more. And some other band too.

So screw you if you dont believe me , i dont really give a fuck lol

  • fuck off, it doesn't matter how long youve been playing.. just how much you practice

  • !!! ERES UN HIJO DE PUTAA !!!! ., COMO CHUCHA SE TE OCURRE HACERLA SIENDO UN TARAO?¿!!!!.,., OTROS LA HACEN DE LA PUTAMEDRE!!!!Y TU LA CAGAS MEN!!!.,.,.,ERES UN RREVERENDO HIJO DE PUTA!!! ( los chilenos tambien lo son porsiacaso).,.BUENHH.,., EN LO QUE ESTABAMOS.,.,,MAL NACIDO DE MIERDA!!!!,.,thanks

  • peruano muerto de hambre.

  • relax just relax everything is gone be just fine

  • dude so much easyer 1:43 use ur pinky lol but ur good dude.

  • Hey man, did a good job for only 11 months playing. Really awesome guitar choice aswell, i own the same model except in the sapphire blue. Bit of advice when your soling try to keep your thumb a bit lower down behind the neck. Will add more fluidity to your playing and your`ll be able to nail those string bends more cleanly and also helps for vibrato on single notes. Hope this helps!

    Keep Rocking!

  • bad final but very good

  • every time you go down the scale in the solo the notes should be triplets if you know what those are it makes it sound a lot better

  • I've been playing electric for about the same time, and I learn this song not too long ago. U did a good job, just need to work a bit more on the 16th note parts. Its better to have the distortion ring a bit then to miss a note, so sometimes can keep ur fingers on the board to help u.

  • dig ur axe man!

  • when you pick use your wrist not your fingers

  • thats actually good advice but hes using the james hetifeld technique which is picking using ur fingers

  • watch this fade to black solo cover, i think its prety good watch?v=e2cTZBr9t9A

  • nice caps!

  • nice!!!

  • nice, i have the cover of the first solo but urs is great

  • Use the Bridge pickup for rythm. Especially when playing Metallica.

  • He's playing lead.

  • In the beginning dude. Whes playing those last few riffs.

  • OIC!

  • One small suggestion: When bending strings upward, pick the string upward as well, it's much easier and you don't risk accidentally picking other strings.

  • you rock!!

  • Nice job, but i can tell its off tune by a little, but still kick ass

  • this perfomance rox.. look my version of the solo watch?v=YKQWxv-TYss&feature=channel_page

  • the fact that your big finger is all on then ck of the guitar show 0 technique anyway nice

  • the end is wrong maybe you could dowlownd the tab in guitar pro

it should be 2nd string pull 1oth fret than 1st string freth seventh fret repeatedly

  • untuned, but well

  • just, more feeling =)

  • u forgot to mention the most important person in ur tage dats cliff burton who composed d main song

  • hey how much do u practise daily do u use guitar pro

  • Lol, started to go into the Unforgiven solo at the end there, different timing but same notes. Other than that, not bad at all

  • tune your guitar man, other than that, not bad! bends are not very good also

  • good playing :D

  • Hell I believe.

Dedication can help you cover vast distances in a short amount of time

  • possibly the greatest solo of all-time

  • nice.. maybe you can consider focusing on your bendings and timing a little bit?

you can also check out my version.

  • cool man

  • 11 months my arse

  • this solo is confusing at first cause kirk holds notes a tab bit longer than others, if you play it slow and lisen to the solo a bunhc of times youl get it

  • cant say its a bad guitar. shit a bar and floyd rose your set

  • yeah it is! :O

  • this solo is confusing as hell to me

  • not a very hard solo but a good 1 gud job playing it

  • Just gotta work on your bends and you got this one in the bag. :)

    Good luck and keep playing!

  • keep practicing...3/4 stars

  • get a high quality guitar like a fender stratocaster.....make shur its a fender and not a squire

  • A fender for metal?!

The RG is good enough for someone who plays 11 months. If he wants to buy a new guitar, he can better look to (a better) Ibanez, Jackson, ESP Ltd,...

  • No offence but you need to know a little more about guitar's before you say that a fender isn't made for metal, i have a fender american deluxe strat with a vox ad50vt amp and all i play is metal, mainly metallica and ozzy osbourne, with my strat and vox amp i can almost get the exact same tones that randy and kirk use. It's kinda hard to explain but you really got to have a strat to experience it. The guitar is so easy to play, no sticky neck or fret board, easy to play and sounds amazing.

  • That guitar he is using is actualy pretty good. And not bad looking. I have an RG420Dx

  • ibanez makes good guitars

    somtimes better than fender

next time your at a guitar shop chek out

the ibanez jem7v(or one of the lower class modles)itl out play any fender you could think of

  • I personally played a JEM7V at a music shop and wasn't very satisfied. The reason people buy fenders is because they are versatile. WIth the right amp, especially something like my Vox AD50VT, you can play anything with a strat, well, an american strat like mine.

  • Well, not so good, (because of the bends)anyway, well done, I´ve been playing guitar for 8 months now and I can play it (very good actually) is it good?

  • that was sick. Is that an RG?

  • Yep, thas is an RG :)

RG620QM, Japanese Produced for the UK in -97 and -02 I think.

  • SUX

  • You need to work on your bends very badly, other than not a bad effort.

  • thats ok.. its pretty good...

  • les 4 note mi ( 0 ) tu devrai les jouer en allez , car allez retour non maitrisé en mute c'est peu esthétique sinon le solo pas mal du tout ! ;)

  • nice, but you can play this better! keep working

  • pretty harsh dude, "fuck you" why say that?

    you rock

  • Nice work man
