@chickennone actually, most cases are made out of metal for a reason, which is for chasis grounding. If your case has poor chasis grounding, then when something shorts, or power spikes, it will ground through the other components which is bad when they have sensative tollerances. So a conductive case forms a grounding path for excessive voltage/amperage, where it wont harm the rest as much. If it still frys something after the fact, then you put pc together wrong. have a good day bud.
