Unfortunately, the way the voting rules and districts are organized, the two-party system emerges pretty much inevitably. The only way that a third party could become truly viable if these rules changed, and the two big parties aren't dumb enough to change them. What needs to happen is that the progressives in the Democratic party need to get sufficiently fed up that they up and leave, and I don't think that's about to happen anytime soon.

Unfortunately, the way the voting rules and districts are organized, the two-party system emerges pretty much inevitably. The only way that a third party could become truly viable if these rules changed, and the two big parties aren't dumb enough to change them. What needs to happen is that the progressives in the Democratic party need to get sufficiently fed up that they up and leave, and I don't think that's about to happen anytime soon.

I'm half thinking that Joe Lieberman is actually an undercover Republican deliberately sent over into enemy territory. He's been in deep cover for years and his mission is to wear the Democrat label and then work actively against them from the inside to ensure the Republicans benefit whenever possible.

Paulson borrows $700 billion from the Federal Reserve at interest and against the collateral of future Federal taxes, then returns it as a gift to the banks and financials to cover their bad paper and to lend out at interest to the very taxpayers who are already responsible for the gift to the lenders they are supposed to borrow from.
They lend you your own money and you pay interest on it twice.
Americans are in the runnnig for the dumbest fucks on the planet.

Paulson did borrow the money from the FED at interest to give to the bankers but with no conditions.. they didn't even have to tell the government what they did with it.. they did not lend it to anyone they used it for bonuses the buying of other banks..nothing to benefit the US citizens all for the benefit of the fat cats of Wall Street..Since Paulson was an insider he was protecting his buddies to prevent them from losing any money from their gambling in toxic derivatives etc
