  • i love pagemaster

  • His review would not count really he waffles I know lots of critics and they are far mor intelligent and always get to the point. Tahnk God he is not in the mainstream media section. Too high pitched voice and rather annoying. He is like marmite you either love or hate it.

  • @indiancruise12

Just because you don't think he counts as a internet reviewer doesn't change the fact that it is indeed his job to do this. He works for the production company Channel Awesome to be exact (No seriously that's it's name, I didn't make it up, look it up on google) and judging by his online popularity I doubt they want him to change his tactics any time soon.

  • Grow up and get a life this is a cute story... Oh wait ur dumb as a rock so u wouldent know GET A HEART

  • your loud and abnocscouse bet your american??? would be possile to shut your ranting and get on with it please..

  • @indiancruise12 get on with what? Hes an internet reviwer, he reviews.

  • this was my all time favorite childhood movie, but the critic is still funny in this.

  • Dude your pathectic.

  • @ak9o7st whats a 'pathectic?'

  • Am I the only one watching this and thinking Star Trek Reunion? Stewart was Picard, Whoopi Goldberg was Guinan, Leonard Nimoy was Spock, Christopher Lloyd was a Klingon, and Frank Welker was a voice double for Nimoy is a Star Trek movie! They're all Star Trek actors!

  • I liked this movie as a kid, but this is so freakin' hilarious! XD

  • This saddens me. The Pagemaster was one of my favorite movies as a child..

  • Comment removed

  • Well i remembered the title, that it had something to do with books, it had that kid micheal jackson took to "Neverland" and...thats about it, maybe it had a dragon or something

  • 4:40 I AM an adult.

  • You're ruining the nostalgia part of this.

  • GOD DAMIT TURNER STOP EDUCATING US YOUR NOT GOOD AT IT!!!

  • Wanted to watch the film andddd this happened

  • Whoever said, this a Wizard of Oz for the 90's, they were not kiddin!!

  • When we were kids we loved the idea of this movie, the idea that fantastic worlds could reside in books. It's a great premise and the movie captures the sense of adventure reading could feel like, especially back then.

... And none of that makes it a good movie. It just makes it a great premise that we, as kids, were willing to fill in the gaps for in order to enjoy it.

Review: Justified. Doesn't mean that you're a bad person for seeing the good qualities of the movie too.

    Guilty pleasures!

  • TAKE A LOOK, IT'S IN A BOOK

    READING RAINBOoOoOoOW!

  • There better not be anything whimsical in here!

  • I loved the Pagemaster.

  • I kinda liked this movie

  • I remember loving this movie as a child. I didn't think this review was entirely justified..

  • The movie is good, but the Sega Genesis game is awesome!

  • I was able to block out this movie from my memory.. This was one scary ass movie to me as a kid and I have no idea why.

  • Yay! The Baskerville Hound. XD

  • ZUUL!!!

  • YOU ARE A FUCKING SPASTIC!!

  • Patrick Stewart does the voice for Adventure!!

  • Sonic Says...omg dying of laughter

  • this review is awesome and so is the movie

  • 05:20 HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAA

  • I think that this is a good film because it inspires kids to overcome fears - and explore new things and develop abilities etc..a bit like 'the phantom tolbooth'

  • How can a bearded middle-aged man be a critic on a film aimed solely at children?

  • @Krshna28 The same reason that Rotten Tomatoes and all those other professional reviewers, including Roger Ebert, can be a critic on this film. And the same reason kids' films like The Brave Little Toaster and Ponyo are considered great while Barney and A Troll In Central Park is considered...creepy.

  • @PrinterThorn That's exactly my point, they are not children!!!

  • @Krshna28 That's like saying I can't criticize Bride Wars because it's for girls. Just because it's for kids doesn't mean you're exempt from putting effort into it. That's like me making a kid's movie that's just a bunch of stickmen walking in a straight line for two hours. I wouldn't care, because I'd think, "Hey, kids are stupid. They'll watch anything." Now, to be fair, I don't think Pagemaster is all that bad, but it's NOT exempt from criticism by adults.

  • @Krshna28 He's not even middle aged. He just turned 30 a few weeks ago. Meaning the majority of the stuff he reviews were around when he was a kid.

  • Personally, the Librarian's appearance reminds me of Charles Dickens.

  • 92 people gave it a good wiff and didn't like it

  • I dissagree that it's bad. 1, the kiss at the end (all the yaoi fans love it) 2, it makes more sence than "The Thief And The Cobbler" (An amazing movie as well, but only if you like nothingness) 3, Horror is the freaking adorable! 4, it's better than most of the movies nowday, I mean, HSM is kinda weird, they ruined Harry Potter 5-7, Pokemon should've died LONG ago, and Twilight, let's not even get started on that. (This coming from a pokemon and harry Potter fan). That said, dude, your crackup!

  • @bakugancollecterZ Yes, the games are deffinately awesome, I'm meaning the series itself.

  • @beastchicky You have NO idea..the series still scares me...my childhood ay never recover..that said...WHO THE HELL DELETED MY COMMENT???

  • @bakugancollecterZ That's what I was wondering.

  • Dammit the Sonic The Hedgehog part made me spill my coffee! LMAO!

  • ZOOL MOTHA FUCKA ZOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!

  • I loved the Pagemaster as a child, and I wanted to relive the memories by watching it again just now... but I came across this instead. Despite loving the film, I found this hilarious!

  • @Nadine2704 You said it. . . Ever find it again, cos that's what I'm looking for too?

  • You know i've been watching the AVGN for years and never watched your reviews cuz of what people said. But you know what. i love this guy! he's funny and i can relate to this haha i loved this movie as a kid,and still do. but i love his reviews!!! too funny!

  • I just want to watch the friggin movie not some asshole talking about it!!

  • Christopher Lloyd: Oooh little girl, YOUR LOOKING FOR ADVENTURE!

    Girl: I WAS FROZEN, TODAY!

  • Oohh, let's make christopher lloyd look like a pedophile. Great idea asshole, let's just take a dump on some people's childhoods. James Rolfe (AVGN) beats the crap out of this generic douche. I hope he reviews this movie soon.

  • @nikolaismirnoff117 They are completely two different made up people.. and why would watch this as you said he is a "generic douche"? I watch both and love both of there reviews. The AVGN mostly makes short films to go with his reviews, but the NostalgiaCritic gets straight to the point about why he hates it. They both are funny, but if you wanna write hate comments about something you hate, don't be caught watching it........ durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Oh look a little girl- YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ADVENTUUUURE!

  • come on guys most if not all of us liked or loved the movie and maby evin still watch it.i know i do but i also like this review its not a review i think its just a really long funny joke.so say what you must but injoy the video.just couse he makes fun of this movie dont make it any less of the great work of art that we remember as kids and can still injoy today

  • I found a cassette of this I'm selling it for my iPod touch!

  • This movie is the fuel of many childhood nightmares of mine.

  • *breaths in hard* do you smell it breath it in matties

i fatted give it a good wiff boys *breath in hard* thats collieflower

    ......................... LOL XD LMAO

  • hey i really loved this when i was a child D:< and he is also from home alone which is another movie i loved when i was little

  • "Uuu a little girl! Hey you! Are you looking for adventuraah?!" Cannot stop laughing at that everytime I see it.

  • wait... it's like a full cast of Star Trek people...

  • Opening up a review of a Mcauly Culkin movie by talking about Michael Jackson... stay classy Critic.

  • Page.master was ok

  • your a slut . i loved pagemaster

  • @satan163 Calling him a slut? Boy, you ran out of insults huh? And who cares if you loved Pagemaster, it's HIS opinion. If you think he's wrong cause he has a different opinion, just gtfo.

  • @thepikafan123 Lol, what do you expect? He's a reviewer. It's his JOB to review movies. So what if you liked the movie? So did I, but it's a review, not a popularity contest.

  • @ccsuntan it's the truth to bad

  • Not memorable and boring!? Screw you, Doug. Hyde scared the bejesus out of me as a kid and the books had fun personalities especially Adventure. The parts with Captain Ahab and the Dragon had atmosphere and the segment with Long John Silver was hilarious. Maculay Culkin and Chris Lloyd are top notch as usual. Its a great fantasy with a good moral (ie. read). Are you just going along with Siskel and Ebert's opinion? I've never disagreed with you more strongly. One of my favourite movies ever.

  • i thouhgt it left an impact it was an awesome movie

  • "if you want to educate people, try dumbing it down a bit."

That just proves how insepidly stupid society has become. I mean, hell, hardly any kids read at all anymore. Is it because this movie was supposedly too bland, is it because Reading Rainbow--for its earworm of a theme song--got cancelled, or is it because the Internet now has become the main information tool, which in turn, creates information overload?

  • "It's easy to be a cynical asshole when you review kids movies"

Then why doesn't the Critic do the opposite to compare both the negatives & the positives of each film/show he reviews? I mean, he's the Nostalgia Critic, but his name implies looking past on one's past, not necessarily trashing it at every turn. I mean, outside of his Top 10s & not bashing Sesame Street, most childhoods he tends to rip apart horribly.

  • @TherealRNO He does it to be funny. He gives his honest opinion at the end. So if you want to skip all the "bashing", then find part 2 (In some cases 3) and listen to that. Not attacking you, just some advice if you don't like the Nostalgia Critic that much. Plus, the movies he reviews shows that even movies back then weren't golden like many people claim they were. Yes, some are his opinion, but others, you HAVE to agree on.

  • what in the World r u talking about this is one of the Best ill Never forget this movie! XP

  • @izwald but that's what does and its all in good humor...Also if you have a problem with the video why go out of the way to comment on it?

  • NC: I NEED AN ADULT

Old dude: I am an adult

  • i farted give it agood wiff rofl

  • My GOD, the main character is an annoying little fuck.

  • this was a pretty good movie although i do agree it isnt very memerable but still good i loved it

  • buddy are you retarded...the pagemaster is an uber title

  • Oh god, the reading rainbow. I had a vivid memory of that scene that I thought for years was just a terrifying nightmare. Now I find that the original version is even scarier than I remembered.

I'm glad he turned it into something hilarious, because otherwise I think I'd be hiding under the table right now.

  • "We all liked Michael Jackson at some point, didn't we?"

    I didn't...

  • go get laid u stupid Homeless scrub

  • ZULE! ZUULLLE! ZULE MOTHAF*UCKA ZUUUULLLLE!!!

  • Jeez, people are trashing the critic all because they liked this movie as a child. Well, SO DID I. Actually I still do. But I still enjoy the review. Nobody gives a damn about your childhood. No offense, though....

  • @YourAverageGamer1997 i know i like this movie too but i also like the review too :)

  • nobody likes a critic... lol

  • Too many star trek stars!!!!Picard, Guinan, Spock and star trek 3s main villan; Christopher Lloyd!!!great scott!!!!!!

  • It isn´t bad but a feather falling on a pillow has more inpact than the movie itself

  • Hey this was my favorite movie to watch at grandma's when I was 6!

  • Wow the review is worse than the movie. Painfully bad humor with a very annoying voice.

  • 4:10

    I need an adult

    I am an adult

  • BLARGH!! you are NOT dissin one of my FAVS!!!

I REFUSE GOOD SIR!! I REFUSE TO LISTEN!!

  • Соник Сез меня убил хD

  • I heard that movie was originally supposed to be I.M. Meen the Movie. But since Youtube Poop wasn't invented at the time, I.M. Meen wasn't famous enough. Although that could have been a joke.

  • i forgot Christopher Lloyd was in this turkey, doing his Doc Brown schtick it seems.

  • I actually liked this movie as a kid. I understand the critic not remembering it, but it's a good movie for kids.

  • DOC! what happened!

  • the truth is i'm quite loopy! *NEIGH!*

  • The Libranian reminds me of I. M. Meen.

  • I watched this movie as a kid, and now remember nothing from it.

  • funny, that he says that pagemaster is forgetable, because i remembere absoulutly nothing about it (i only remember watching it when i was little)

  • I loved this movie as a kid. Now in my older teens I still love the movie.

  • Good job your good

  • the whole plot is the boy gets high off of the paint that flooded him and thinks he's animated

  • GET-A-LIFE!!!!!

  • at least you can't mistake it for " the Gay master" right? lol

  • Ah, Ted Turner. The man who ran WCW into the ground alongside his yes man Eric Bischoff. I'm obssessed with wrestling, gimme a break.

  • @Frafdo95: Creative control also was the end for WCW also (see the over-exposing nWo).

  • no offense but he should have just uploaded the video rather than have annoying commentry on it, all i wanted was to see the actual clip

  • any person that sys the pagemaster is awesome, well that is your opinion, so, you are saying that your opinion is right is stupid, because that means that his opinions are rong, and they aren't, they are his! so, if you like it, good for you, if you don't, good for you.

  • i found this guy more annoying then anything in the film

  • @voicesinmehead That's because he make fun of your childhood memories.

    It's a normal reaction

  • @huauntourette No, it's not...It's because he's an annoying cunt

  • 5:21 was hilarious favorite part in this reviiew

  • the PageMaster was ana wesome movie it didnt want me to read but it was a great movie nonetheless DR Jekyll and Mr Hyde scene was awesome and also the Long John Silver scene also i was always pissed off when those kids picked on him from the begining of the movie

  • ZULLLLL!!!!!

  • 74 people farted!

  • you're in need of... communism!

  • useing sonic sez for a metafor, you are crzy

  • lol. I like both this film and this reveiw. It's supposed to be negative -Nostalgia Critic, after all- but it is good.

    Fave character? Horror.

  • I NEED AN ADULT!!!

  • I really wish I hadn't taken a drink at 9:46...

  • Oh Chris, Why can't you go back In time and stop this movie, from happening!

  • its the opposite of just about everything you said!!!!

  • "God is not pleased with you Culkin! I will smite you before you make the Nutcracker movie!" LOL XD

  • if you think this movie is dull and has no development then you are a blind asshole!!! it has an amazing story, and combines live action with animation beautifully!!! which isn't easy to do!!!!!! i was hoping that you would give an amazing review of this LIKE IT DESERVES!! but obviously you are a movie hater and have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @mysecretlife17 Yes, clearly because he doesn't like this movie, means he's wrong, and you're fucking Jesus Christ! Everyone's wrong if they disagree with you!

  • Anyone notice that there are 3 Star Trek actors in this movie?

  • @borghome More than three: Patrick Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, Leonard Nimoy, Christopher Lloyd, Ed Bergley Jr., Frank Welker did some voicework in Star Trek audiobooks, and Voyager's Doctor voiced one of the pirates,.

  • @EvilgidgitReturns the 1st three i was talking about LOL

But yeh I did not know about the others. Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @izwald1 That's the purpose, dude. Its his job to be an ass :3

  • @monomono7 it's like he's trying to hard to do what the angry video game nerd does so well

  • @izwald1 don't watch his reviews then

  • @izwald1 you mean at 4:12? that was actually scary

  • @izwald1 only part that scared me was that part where that pirate book turned into a lady *cringes* that still creeps me out to this day

  • @madman101ish haha the Mr. Hyde part freaked me out quite a bit and i remember even having this stuffed character of the "horror" book

  • @izwald1 Although he does destroy our childhoods faster then a rule 34 fanbase. NC Is kinda funny.

  • @jonsandersgame haha i'd have to say rule 34 is a bit more destructive. i wish i could just look at internet porn without seeing my favorite cartoon characters taking it up the ass on the occasional side banner

  • @izwald1 ...can't agree with that kinda logic...but it doesn't even have to be looking it up...do you know how many times I've been flashed with Childhood destroying porn? ONCE! And it was Sonic and Tails...IT WAS HERE ON YOUTUBE....Things that you go...."Ugg"

  • @jonsandersgame some things you just can't erase from your head

  • @izwald1 Agreed...

  • @izwald1 he shits on everyone's childhood at some point so just learn to get used to it and i know how you feel he shit on my childhood to.

  • @izwald1 Same here! I suddenly remembered it last night, and HAD to try and find what the film title was... I'm asking for it for Christmas :3

  • I bet Keith Richards could´ve drank that.

  • @8:48 is my favorite part of the movie. "CAN I HAVE THE OLIVE?" hahaha

  • zuul! ZUUL! ZUUL MOTHERfaka ZUUL!!!!!!!

  • LOL

  • D.

  • should i fell bad that i liked micheal jackson after he died

  • The sad thing is...NC was absolutely right about this being a dull and forgetful movie. Not exactly BAD in my opinion, just...blah. As I started watching this, I ONLY remembered that I had actually SEEN the movie myself when the librarian came on the screen and I was like "OMG I watched this at some point in my life! :O"

I then proceeded to laugh my ass off. XD

  • cheap ass animation. :( (the only good animation is the stuff that comes from japan)

  • @billyhammet Russia was the pioneer I would say.

  • awww i loved this movie when i was little! :D

  • i love and loved this movie. i still watch it all the teh time! you hav no idea what ur talking about. just cuz u dont like a movie does not mean its bad.

  • I FARTED GIVE IT A GOOD WHIFF BOYS lololololol

  • There better not be anything whimsical in here!
