omg are you serious? haha i've been looking to find what this song was called for years, and its right here! thanks for telling us who the song is by and what its actually called. one of my most memorable and loved (but still hated) parts of kennywood!
If you ever add to or redo this video, you could put taps on during the credits. That's what they play after Nighty Night, when they're turning off the lights. (The Thunderbolt is always the last thing I ride so I walk all the way across the park... in no hurry...)
@threemilechild You can check out my video of the Kennywood closing songs. It has all of the songs there including taps. Don't know if I'm allowed to include a link but you can always just go to my page and find it from there. I like this video too
this brings out that old history kennywood has. from being a pool area, to having the first ride, merry go round, to the phantoms revenge. it reminds us of the older days Kennywood has been through. Depressing, but satisfying, only one thing.
After spending the past two days @ Kennywood I don't know whether to shed a small tear because we didn't want to leave or smile because we had such a wonderful time Friday and Sat.
Thanks for this video and music, this park reminds me so much of Pleasure Beach, Blackpool here in the UK! It's full of really unique and beautiful rides! I'm going to Florida this summer but i'd love to get to Kennywood sometime! :D
I have a love/hate relationship with this song when ever I hear it it brings good memories of Kennywood & the disappointment of me having to leave the park. I cannot wait to go again this year!
I live in Orlando, FL and I can tell you Kennywood has something that the mega parks down here can't replicate, and that's the long history and tradition of those great classic parks up there.
finally one person who understansds the true meaning of kennywood. they may not have the biggest and fastest rides and coasters but dammit i love thsi park and no one can change my mind.
Aww I hate hearing the closing music! It's so pretty but it's really depressing): It's depressing cause you know that your wonderful day at Kennywood Park is coming to an end):
Nothing like closing the park down while this soothing melody helps everyone wind down. Has such a nostalgic ring to it. A perfect end to a usually perfect day! sighhh........
OMG! you are my VERY FIRST video response! and what better than a GREAT video on kennywood. all i have to say is, it's a great song, but everytime i hear it, it brings me to tears cause that means kennywood is closed :-( but greatly put together and very well done. I will be returning to kennywood on Friday, August 1st for my grandparents annual Shriners Picnic Held every first Friday in August. Ohh god, how much i miss kennywood!
Sorry bout that, I hope you enjoyed the video though. Kennywood is a beautiful park, I hope the new owners don't change a thing. Wait, they do need to put a roof back on the Whip. It's unfortunate what happened when mother nature brought it down, but the Whip does need a roof.
I love how this song resonates throughout the park especially that little trumpet section.

This is absolutely great. Already more than 50 years ago this was my favorite song, played in the German radio : Hallo, Nachbarn! by Wolfgang Menge.
Thank you, woodencoasterfan, you make me happy!

@MrNick0529 Yep, it's always sad when the fun comes to a screatching halt at the end of the day when the park closes.

I used to work at Kennywood, and this song was pure joy, because it meant you could close up the ride, turn out the lights, and go home. :)

Amazon's web site is where I got it. The title of the song is litterally "Nighty Night" by Alvino Rey.
