  • slim whitman will live on for ever , no one is better

  • First Saw Slim at White City stadium in Sydney, a lot of years ago and have been a fan ever since. Also saw him at Southport, UK a few years ago. But out of all the wonderful songs he sings, I think this one is (not one of his best, because all Slim's songs are his best) one of the nicest ones, with a haunting yodel and a very enjoyable tune. I've played this time after time. Thanks for putting this on YouTube, for us all to enjoy.

  • Unbeatable

  • Thanks for upload, much appreciated. As I'm presently living in Switzerland I was rather hoping that Slim would say where yodelling was born! Anyone have any idea? Should imagine the Swiss will claim copyright :-))

  • GOT TO SEE HIM IN sT. LOUIS WON FRONT ROW SEATS IN A CONTEST.

    WHAT A GREAT SINGER

  • One of the most unique American artists ever born. Wow! He just , is amazing. I feel at total peace when I listen to him. it all melts away. He's amazing, simply amazing.

  • For early and original recordings by Slim and dozens of love songs and yodeling from age of 24 into his 50s, go to my Youtube -- 1horsesrcool

  • Happy 87th birthday slim !!!!!!

  • cooool yodeling

  • Slim Whitman's voice is golden! There will never be another singer like him.

I am a massive fan and I have most of the almost 600 songs he has recorded...Marje Morgan Wrexham North Wales UK. And a member of the SWAS on Facebook.

  • watchin mars attack..slim acallin'

  • If it's slim you know it's him.

  • i love those cowboysongs

  • yeehaar

  • I used to listen to Slim in the early 50s and became a singer for 55 years, and I would do a couple of his songs in my set, albeit not as good as Slim. What A STAR!!!

  • To anyone who has met this incredibly talented man...you have my envy! I have loved Mr. Whitman's music from the days I lived in Europe...where he has achieved semi-god like status! We loved him over there, and I was floored to hear he was from from my own country USA...wow. Brilliant pronounciation, outstanding vocals and a second to NONE ability to yodel...this great man is a legend. I am Blessed to hear and marvel at his recordings. Many thanks for posting. Peace.

  • @yingkbc Slim was a personal friend of my parents and we always met up with him when he came over to England. He was a lovely gentleman too. Of course an older gentleman now and no longer sings but I believe his son does. I realise now how privileged we were to meet him. Fantastic voice.

  • I would love to meet this man, Slim is THE Yodeller - no doubt!....

  • No words,just beautiful.

  • I loved his songs when I was stationed in England in 1955 and still do.

  • Shows the great yodel ability this man had, and this is only a small sample of all the

    fantastic yodeling songs he recorded.

  • THERE IS NO BETTER........not even close!

  • Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing.

  • My late father taught me the coolness of country. He also taught me how to shoot a gun, and taught me the old westerns & Country songs. I adore him for that. A man who worshiped or at least praised Malcolm X. We watched Hee Haw growing up, and I simply love Slim Whitman, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison, and others ( T.E.F).

What a wonderful, crazy, beautiful world we live in.

  • No one has ever equaled Slims voice. He was a one off, and don't forget he saved the world from the Martians, in Mars Attacks. He made their little green heads explode, and I believe in my heart he could do that.

  • The only other singer that came any where near Slim Whitman, in style and delivery,is Frank Ifield. And Frank is still very much involved in Country Music, in New South Wales in Australia.

  • This is brilliant beyond belief. No modern singer could begin to match this beautiful, mellifluous cadence. (I was brought up on Slim Whitman from age 4 - and still search for anyone who can even begin to approach his mastery). Susie 4100

  • terrific

  • What a yodel beautiful another of my late mother's fav for you Mam xx

  • who do you compare this ?

  • I totally agree.....simple and sweet. My aunt, a WWII Navy nurse came back to hometown in Tampa, Fl....where Slim was born in'24. She played his music until I was sick! I was about 8-10 years old. I learned how to spell the word...'yodel'.

  • My grandparents got me into Slim when I was a young lad. The man is a living legend. What a voice!!!

  • Classic! Priceless. He sure was a handome dude in his youth, eh? Very cool, very talented.

  • One of the most incredible voices ever to grace the airwaves!! Such range and purity. Wow!!

  • I had the good fortune to have met Slim and his son Bryon twice. Could listen to him all day. such a beautiful voice.

  • Goosebumps. What a talent. Thanks for the later-day images of this legend. I like to let people know that George Harrison said Slim was an early influence.

  • This is what country and western songs are al about. The songs are sung with feelings and emotions. If you have not listened Slim Whitman Christmas songs, please do. You will not be sorry.

  • the man who got me into yodeling. I ADORE YODELING.

  • i sort of remember my dad playing his records when i was a kid i did'ent care to much back then but last month i heard this song and indian love call wow what a voice the man is a legend

  • How ironic, someone named Slim has such a fat sound.

  • What an amazing voice. A gift. Didn't discover him until the late night "Best of Slim Whitman" infomercials years ago.

  • that to bad you feel that way , we love Slim and he love God and so do I and I no God love you .........
