  • Hello to all :)

I want to ask you what light bulbs you use for lighting?

I use Osram cool blue, put on the pc with 13V power supply.

In the dark look very well, even in bright room light is seen.

I tried with hid xenon 35w, but the effect is not better than a halogen bulb.

Thanks for the advice of mod, thank you :))

  • @brad4edat Hi, I'm now using 250W 24V halogen bulb, do you use parabolic mirror in back of your lightbulb, you need it for focusing light beam, it amplifies light and gives you a directional light!

  • @themrworf1701 I use the original reflector of the projector. Here is a link with pictures:

  • hi well im confused beacuse my projector its kinda diferent.. and i rellay wanna do this.. but im not sure.. i know about basic electronic but im lost ... can you help me with my problem?

i have an sharp pg-d2710x thank you.. and well done about the video really nice of you for share that knowlegde

  • hi friends does anyone know how to dis for a dmd projection display model optoma ezpro 735

on my projector orange light blinking power button nd projector light

  • Does anyone know how to do this for a SANYO PLC-XF47 XF4700 The bulp is not lasting much, and I need to replace the bulp which cost overUSD300

  • Does anyone knows the hack for the sanyo PLC SU50 this has 5 wires, i tried different modes but none worked. thanks

  • Hell yeah, down with techno-corporate monopoly trying to nickel and dime us on everything by making products non universal/cross-compatible, cant wait to do this to mine! Counting down bulb hours ;)

  • //bradchedat.snimka.bg/experiment/lcd-dlp-projector-lamp-hack-mode-fix-hp-vp6111.650633

  • Method works in HP vp 6111 dlp projector ;)

  • Hi everyone, I want to thank all the people who share his knowlogde and persoonly I want to thank themrworf1701 for showing us his knowlogde.

My projector m3 MP8765 is succesfully done with this trick.

The connector have 4 wires I just cut wire 2 and wire 3 and then I assamble together (Like here on this video). So i hope this can help for the people that have thesame projector as mine.

  • Hi everyone, can you or some one help me.. i try to do this bypass with m3 mp8765, the projector have the 3 optocuplers, and the connetors are 4 wires to MB, one is yellow and the others 3 are brown.

I did the trick and try to figer out the possibilities to make a bypass but with not luck at all.

Hoop some one can help me with this....

  • Hi, can you help hack my projector Proxima 9210? :)

  • Im considering trying this soon on a epson powerlite 5350, anybody know anything about correcting convergence issues on that particular model?

  • @digitalenigma00 unfortunatly no, if you have some problems with modifications, contact me

  • @digitalenigma00 yes check the connectors on the main top board, if they are crooked this can happen, also if its not that someone has messed with the lcd panels and have not aligned them properly. they have to be in so persice alignment

    hope this helps

  • @binweevilsrocks ok thanks for the advice, I will look at both, but I think Its the precision alignment, which seems to be about 3 or 4 boards deep, do you know if there is any work around to avoid having to dissasemble layer by layer in a epson powerlie 5350?

  • @digitalenigma00 as far as im aware you have to take all the boards off that are above the assembly but they are straight forward to put back together (most have colour coded plugs)

with aligning the lcd screens this is very hard to do and will take some time.

any other questions i will be happy to help

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR!!!!! YOU JUST SAVE MY DAY. I confirm that this trick works just fine on a Epson Powerlite S3 (EMP-S3) the optocouplers arrangement is same as described here (pin arrangement too on connector CN901 aka SCI) . if anybody needs the service manual for this projector (and S1 too) P.M.me

  • @ensastiga Thank you for response! :) I'm very very glad that it works!!!!!!! :D sons of bitches want us to pay some big money for new lightbulb, so they put that thing to screw people who want to put other lightbulbs and save $, i hope your setup works great! :P

  • @themrworf1701 I'll keep you updated man! I'm still deciding wich kind of light, my first choice will be a 100w white LED (6000-7000k 90 lm/w) but I'm still exploring other technologies (wish there was high power RGB LED), any recommendations? Thanks again for spreading the word, the world needs to know how easy this is, people are giving away their projectors cos they can't afford those highly overpriced UHP bulbs (to be honest I took advantage of it and got my projector for 25 dollars) CHEERS!

  • hey sir.. well yeah i need some help cause im not sure but i have 5 of those and im really confused

  • @edgarssimoneddy Take a picture of them and send me in inbox!

  • Hi my hitachi projector have 3 of P421F optocupler and I have no idea which one is the output to the MB.. Can you help me?

  • Hi, man, this video is really amaizing, i get a DPL projector and it has the optocoplers too, i gonna make the mod, with a high power led of 50W, and later i tell you how it works; thank you for sharing.

  • @saulabello thanks! :) tell me or make video so I can see how it works!

  • @themrworf1701 Hi again, and thank you for your answer, i tried but it does'n work, i think is beacuse it makes a scan of lam, fan and temperature first and later enable the power button, so when it finds the lamp controller telling that lamp is ok, it shows an orange light in power button, telling that there is a problem. =(.

Do you think that shortcircuiting the termostate could work, ill tri it. What do you think?

  • @saulabello no, thermostat shuts down projector only if its overheated, you could try to remove thermostat and try again, maybe you short circuited wrong optocupler?

  • @themrworf1701 Thank you for your answers; i give up with that proyector and get another epson and ¡¡¡it works!!!. Now my question is if you know what optocopler (of the other two) receives the signal of turning on the lamp.

  • @saulabello what is written on optocupler?

  • @themrworf1701 I don`t have the reference in this moment, but the configuration is the same like the one you show on the video; the 1 and two wires are for the lamp state, the third is conected to one pin of the others optocoplers, and the 4 and 5 other cables goes to the other pins of the optocoplers respectively. so i think that the 3 cable is the cathode and the 4 goes to the anode of one and 5 goes to the other anode. What do you think?

  • @saulabello Please take picture of optocuplers so i can see them, i can't say without I see what type of optocuplers are there and in what direction they are turned

  • I have a junky NEC VT440 that is not worth buying a lamp for. I tried this but it didn't work on this model. It just shuts down within a couple seconds with a slow red blink on the status light. Must be some more sensors that need fooling.

  • @Maxxarcade the sensors are optocuplers, do that projector have its own lamp inverter?

  • @themrworf1701 Nevermind, the blower had a piece of glass stuck in it. Just have to jump the yellow and orange wires and it fires right up. Now I just need to rig up the film projector lamp I have laying around to fit in the housing. The glass broke on the front of the housing as well.

  • cool that worked

  • I have the euc 180d v/11 power supply for my projector and I did bridge out the wires but the projector still tells me to replace the lamp. Please help

  • @Enzom99 Take few pictures of power supply and i will see if I can help.

  • @themrworf1701 ...... every time I want to add a link it gives me a error >< is there a way I can send you a email or something?

  • Thank you so much!!! It worked in my rear projection tv, but at the moment all i have to power it is a torch! Not very bright!

    THanks!

  • @alexbeetle12

I'm glad! Thank you for response!! :)

  • Car headlights work rather well in DIY projector setups.

  • @KeithWasHere1 I was planing to test it! thanks for info!

  • @themrworf1701 no prob, always willing to help another projector modder, let me know how it goes,im interested in anyone's results with these (lcd projectors in general) and especially anything about hacking the casio xja140 ( i got about 60 or 70 regular lcd/dlp projectors stacked up in my closet that i gotta get working soon),bridging the optocouplers sounds like an easy enough hack and a cheap one too....lol might have me a LCD projector yard sale soon.

  • @themrworf1701 remember to use the single mode high beams..or fog lamps..the dual mode bulbs (high beam/low beam in one unit)...they dont work very well in my experience

  • @KeithWasHere1 what kind of headlights? And are they white or yellow?

    Thanks

  • @alexbeetle12 well im going to be testing the T10 wedge style LED headlight soon..its cheap, its internally protected and collimated, its got its on integral heat sink..and a 6500 color temp and its rather small..which means it will fit in most projos bulb bays with easy,9 (have to rig up a frame for it) the 6500k color temp..which makes it about as white as the background to this comment box... should work nicely cause that is the color temp of alot of expensive projector lamps.

  • @KeithWasHere1 Thanks for the help! Can u send me a link to the kind you are looking at?

  • @alexbeetle12 dont really need a link...go to ebay and type in T10 and T20 headlight..and it will show you oodles and oodles and oodles of them and there socket bases.also there is another method..planar LEDs or flat LEDS...now these puppies..man you can get upwards of 10,000-30,000 lumens..50-400watts..but! they get super hot, require massive heatsinks and thermal compound, but the 40,30,80watt run at like 1.5-4 amps at anywhere from 10 to 28 volts..just something to take a look at as well.

  • basically any headlight lamp (except older ones, cause they are more yellow) will suffice, you just gotta get some and fiddle around wit them..one big thing is collimating the light so it enters the projector more uniformly and paralell..without collimation you can loose up to 80% of your lumens due to scatter loss but there are hundreds of different collimators out there (plano convex lens,2 part achromats, ect ect) and even Fresnel(flat lenses) make great collimators, and a lux meter is a must!

  • check edmundoptics dot kom for lenses and whatnot..also ebay has oodles..look for something with a short focal length..(under 2 inches if possible) otherwise, combo's of lenses will have to be used the lens will go in front of the whatever light you use so make your frame adjustable(screw adjusters, slots) so its easy to dial in your lens to the right setting.also the lens must be heat resistant (glass lens is ideal) while the headlights arent exactly super hot, they can still cook. good luck.

  • getting your projectors service/repair manual will also help loads...often they give exact pinouts and very detailed functions of all parts inside your projector...you might have to shell out some cash for them...i paid 99 cents for mine to my Pt-p1sdu...thinking of converting it over to 8,000lm planar LED.

  • so what did you do? bridge the optocouplers to make it think that the bulb is installed and valid? how did you mod the interlock switch in the bulb bay (i know they can simply be glued closed or something)..im very interested in your results and wonder if this can be applied to a Panasonic pt-p1sdu or Phillips lc4433 lcd projectors.

  • if anyone out there is attempting to hack a casio XJ-A140 series projector and have gotten some results let me know.

  • Has anyone had experience hacking the lamp in a Panasonic PT-AE2000? If so please do let us know how! Thanks in advance! ;)

  • @freakqnc capture few images on the power supply and mother board and send me, so i can see them, maybe I can help!

  • any one was trying install Hight power led? on bulp plase? i knowe led needs own power sourse and heatsink. but i think it can be installed on lamp plase.

  • @Ba5ili5k

yes you can put LED but you have to focus light to have light spot...so you must put lens to focus it in to projector, i never tried it but i think that it will work!

  • what is the song you used in the video?

  • @bobapplemac

    atom delta

  • So after further research, it turns out that some, but not all LCD projectors use optocouplers. An older sharp projector didn't, but a more modern Sony did.

  • @thinkbrowner

you can always somehow fool it! Use oscilloscope to find where and how!

  • The concept seems valid, but not all LCD projectors are the same. They don't all use optocouplers. There is a reason that projector lamps are expensive: they produce light evenly over an area at an exact color temperature. Trying to replicate that is very difficult.

  • @thinkbrowner i have seen 5 different projectors and all had optocuplers.. i know that 90% of them have it... if they don't, there is always some way to fool motherboard!

  • Excellent!!!! =) i was thinking about this proyect too, now i Know that is possible, you know if dlp proyector has the same sensor lamps?. Thank you for saring.

  • thnx for comment! This is very simple project, if you stuck with modifying your projector, just ask me here anything, I will help you!
