I guess you are right however the problem is that those ideologies are geneticaly incompatible with human nature. Communism could work in community of about 250 people. Piłsudski wanted to cooperate with "whites" of Denikin, who was half Polish btw, when he sended a propsal, they refused "we`re happy that our Tzar`s subjects wants to fight for Russian empire"... so he stopped offensive and in fact helped reds to stop march on Moscow. Piłsudski wanted to cooperate with "whites" of Denikin, who was half Polish btw, when he sended a propsal, they refused "we`re happy that our Tzar`s subjects wants to fight for Russian empire"... so he stopped offensive and in fact helped reds to stop march on Moscow. Whites couldn`t accept that the "subjects" don`t want to be in the "Russian Empire" . Opportunism, indeed.

Before WWI there was a common understanding in Russia that Poland will be granted independence after the war one way or another. Perhaps helping Reds wasn't the best course of action, considering that the same communism had spread to Poland in the end.
Technically there was no Russian Empire any more during the civil war, it was the Russian Republic under provisional government. Of course a veteran imperial general like Denikin would've regarded himself as holding allegiance to the Empire.

I`m afraid that was only what Tzar was promiseing for our support, nobody trusted it`s possible, especially if that lands were under German occupation already. Yes, it was not as clear "help" to the soviets however, it was hard to choose which enemy is stronger, white or red, both were dangerous.
More or less you`re right, we had even representnts in "Duma" after its restoration. Which doesn`t mean that this state would let alone any of its parts. What would you do in this situation?

Communism hadn't spread in Poland. It was delivered. With control shots to heads. And there's no need for fairy tales about "joining voluntarily". Only in Lithuania, guerrilla war was fought from 1944 until 1956, with more than 20.000 partisans OFFICIALLY K.I.A., not mentioning their families and relatives, and those who died from torture. My own great grandfather was killed for being school's principal, crime- enemy of country. I don't even know where his grave is.

I`m afraid we speak about the earlyier times. So communism of Lenin was a concept of 'global revolution', he was sended to "Leningrad" in German train with lots of gold to fund it and let Germans get favorable peace on east. It turned to be other way, gold also was used to spark revolution in Ger and after treaty of Brest expired, revolution went west. Some Germans get idea to use Piłsudski, who was held in Magdeburg prison, but he also wasn`t very loyall and soon put away the puppet 'council'.

They did not necessarily want to restore the czar. It was a gathering of various types of anti-communists, from church monarchists to leftist democrats. A neutral course was chosen until the Bolsheviks were destroyed, only after that it was supposed to be decided what path Russia should take. Most probably it would've been some kind of constitutional republic.
Telling a Russian you want him and everyone he knows dead one hundred times over is not the best diplomacy.

If Denikin would only answer Piłsudski that he wnts alliance and agree on our independence... bolsheviks would be crushed (note: we had bigger forcesthan whites).
