Link to a better-quality version of this commercial uploaded by @Crommy5.

  • I'D PROBALLY PLAY THIS GAME FOR 2 MINUTES

  • This is definitely late 70's.

  • "A place you pretend to visit when you play this game"... Quite the thing to say to get people to buy this.

  • that was exciting

  • I really wanted this game when I was a kid, my cheap ass parents said it was too expensive.......

  • I learned to read and count because of this game and now I'm unstoppable.

  • they have a BOOTH in their kitchen!? It's like living in a restaurant!

  • You don't even have to read OR count to play Candy Land? How the shit will you be able to "follow the path through Candy Land"? How the hell will you discover the gingerbread plumb tree, a rainbow pass and gumdrop mountain? How can you be careful of the cherry pitfalls and not get stuck in molasses swamp? You may not have to read or count to have LOADS of fun looking at each other like raging retards, but you WILL have to if you want to play the FUCKING GAME!!?#%@$#!

  • gyngerbread man was replaced with plummy b/c he raped the cotton candy queen

  • Dude...like others here who are in their 30s and grew up with seeing this commercial and having this version of the game...that damned music has been ingrained into my skull ever since I first saw this! And yeah, it was used in Super Fuzz as well, but when I rented that movie recently, the copy I had didn't have the music. Glad I didn't dream that it was in the movie in some prints!

  • @konajinxed Hell YEAH! Thats what brought me here...lolol...whats the name of the musical piece

  • the first game of true skill and strategy

  • As long as you know how to count to 2, you can play this game.

  • This must be early '80s as this was before the character names were introduced on the board. (This is the 1978-84 version).

  • I wish I had this game. I am in my 30's and I want it.

  • i stil have my candy land not this one though i think it might of been the one came out after this one ya now the updated version but not the new one

  • They used the exact same theme in the 1981 movie Super Fuzz. I knew it was used here too! What is the name of it?

  • The song is so corny - yet so catchy!

  • 4 - 8? How sad it's the only board game the adult in this commercial can play....

  • I would love to see the commercial for "High Ho Cherry O". They played it around the Christmas holidays several years in a row and then stopped. It had a cute blond headed girl about 4 or 5. She said "I love it so much I just can't stop playing it". It was the sweetest commercial since "Mikey"

  • "you don't have to know how to read or write to have LOADS of fun"

  • 4 to 8 years? Does that mean I can't play it now that I'm 18...? Dx

  • Aww it's Ralphie from Christmas Story.

  • wasnt gloopy bad then good

  • This was the version that I had...I've noticed that the new versions have "storylines"...

  • needs moar crossfire.

  • "for 4-8 year olds" I'm 28 and I still play this game!! Plus, I had the real 80's version...not the one they make these days that has like, 15 of those "special" cards!

  • lol me too my neighbor has this game but the 80's version, i remember the other version too that was cool

  • That music has stuck in my head for 30 years!

  • Me too! I remember this commercial like it was yesterday! (35 yr old)

  • do you know the name of that theme song?

  • all they had in the 80's is board games!

  • Cute commercial.

  • I loVE DIS GAME

  • I use to love this commercial when I was a kid. I use to have the board game "Candyland" when I was a kid and we use to play it in school.

  • i was reading before pre-school, i guess i'm too old for this game. plus dig the patronizing announcer, you could almost hear his "finger-quotes"...

  • wow! we don't have to learn to read to play this game..how amazing!
