Hank Jr puts on the best overall show you will probably see anywhere. Country, rock, blues, new ,old, his, his daddy's and everybody else's songs too. Electric, acoustic, with the full band and just by himself. Hank is a true entertainer. Skynyrd ain't bad either! Although, I haven't seen them since Hughie left and Billy and Ean passed away. I can't imagine them without Billy Powell.

Hank and Ronnie and the original members of Skynyrd were all very good friends. He's been friends with the band for a long time. He's recorded their songs, played them live and jammed many times with them. They also know that Hank is a legend. He also had them in one of his videos for a song called "If it will, it will" I was at the video shoot.

How? Gary and Billy and Rickey have been around from the beginning. Rickey was friends with the band and played drums on a session. The band picked Johnny to sing and stood by him. I'd say that is enough for everyone else to keep quiet about it. Hank is his own man with his own music, but nobody is more suited to singing his daddys songs than he is. Plus, he doesn't have to pay to use them! He owns them!

The only Skynyrd members playing in this clip are Gary Rossington (black fedora hat), Johnny Van Zant (singer), Billy Powell (piano) and Rickey Medlocke. And of these the two original members are Gary and Billy. Johnny Van Zant is the younger brother of Ronnie VanZant (original member and founder of Skynyrd). Rickey played on some of their original tracks back in the 70's. There is a lot more info if you Google Skynyrd. They have had a few member changes over the years.

If you dont believe Hank Jr or Lynyrd Skynyrd can entertain you go to a concert. Hank plays everything on the stage and moves around and throws in lyrics you can relate to. And Lynyrd Skynyrd rock like you wouldnt believe.

@the1percent Love them all, but for me, One More From the Road is the king daddy for Skynyrd. Nothing beats a live version from them! I got to see them at the Fox about 92 or 93. Great show. Opening for them was one little blonde haired, 13 year old Derek Trucks! He damn near stole the show! The best line up since 77 to me was when Hughie Thomasson was on third guitar with Rickey and Gary. They smoked it but good. Of course, nothing beats Gary and Allen and Steve on guitars.

I cant believe all ya'll have to comment on is Gary's hair and bring back Artimus and Ed. On an MTV special a few years ago, Artimus could barely ride a bicycle. what matters is the music! If it wasn't for Johnny, the music would have died with the rest of the band! Besides Hank Jr. doesn't get near the credit he deserves as an entertainer or musician. Yeah, I know, crucial members Michael Cartellone, Ean Evans and Mark Matejka are noticeably missing. They all have places in the hallowed current incarnation of the name Lynyrd Skynyrd. I wonder why they aired two different parts of it at different times, that's weird. As for Gary's hair, he was in the hospital for a while in December. I think he had pneumonia or something, and he'd fallen and gotten concussion, so I'm thinking maybe that's why the hair is gone. Not that he looks bad, it's an interesting change but I did love his hair! Anyway, he's lucky to be alive, he was in critical care for quite a while. It's great to see him out and about, he looks great!
