I watched this movie like 7 times in the theatrel. It was like I had an addiction! The people at the movies knew me on a first name basis, it was awful...but the movie was so good!

Hey. Does anyone know which designer designed the dress that we see @ 1:15. The white one with the dark blue line. Its a replica of an vintage designer dress designed in the 60s. I cant find who designed it. Hope anyone can help.
It probably doesn't matter anymore, but the designer of the movie version is sharen davis, who (i think) designed all the outfits. On the dvd she said that she kept working on it and hated it, and that's why she added the blue lining underneath.

When I went to see this movie the first time and Jennifer Hudson sang that song I felt chills that i had to give her a standing ovation.. she was that good.
As to who sings better it's obvious that it depends on your musical preference. If you like poppy music then yes beyonce rocks it. But if you need to sing most anything else (especially big sounding numbers) then it's j Hud all the way. Beyonce can't do big voice singing. I could see J Hud doing pop before beyonce having a big voice. Different strokes for different folks people.

I did not go see Dreamgirls for Beyonce. I read reviews before hand that trashed her performance so I wasn't expecting much. I think Ms. Hudson does the song justice. From the tiny bit I heard in this trailer, she did great in her own way. She injects genuine Hudson emotion into it. You can hear tinges of her own hurt/joy that speak in a different voice than Ms. Holliday's. Eddie looks like he had fun with his role. I can't wait to see his full performance. I wish the trailer showed more of Jamie's character. Beyonce is a pretty little accessory, as usual.
the song "and i am telling you.." is powerful and moving on it's own and it takes a big, experienced voice, full of emotion to bring it to it's full glory. both jennifers have this in common. both in their own way. this song chooses its singers. i have seen many attempts to replicate holliday's version and it cannot be done. now hudson has put her own emotion and voice to it. i consider myself truely blessed to have witnessed both jennifers' interpretation of such a powerful song.
If you're worried about "And I Am Telling You", don't be. This trailor is just a sampling. She tares it up in the full version, and chooses different places for the power than Holiday. Wait and see/hear!
I think that Jennifer Holliday really sung that song. I'm not feeling Jennifer Hudson's version..that is one of those songs that should only be performed by the original artist, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she doesn't have any talent, but that just that the song doesn't fit her vocal range

Hey. Does anyone know which designer designed the dress that we see @ 1:15. The white one with the dark blue line. Its a replica of an vintage designer dress designed in the 60s. I cant find who designed it. Hope anyone can help.

It probably doesn't matter anymore, but the designer of the movie version is sharen davis, who (i think) designed all the outfits. On the dvd she said that she kept working on it and hated it, and that's why she added the blue lining underneath.

why does everyone hate beyonce now that jennifer was introduced. some of you people are acting like its a crime to like more than one singer/actress. theyre both great actressed and theyre both great singers. its easier to judge from the side line because you cant keep up with them on the field. none of us will be as talented as they are. we were just blessed enough to live in a time where we can enjoy entertainers like this.stop the hating people. its a movie.

As to who sings better it's obvious that it depends on your musical preference. If you like poppy music then yes beyonce rocks it. But if you need to sing most anything else (especially big sounding numbers) then it's j Hud all the way. Beyonce can't do big voice singing. I could see J Hud doing pop before beyonce having a big voice. Different strokes for different folks people.

I'm not just jumping on the Jennifer bandwagon, been a fan of hers ever sense AI. Besides Jennifer is the one getting all the attention and soon she'll have a nice shiny soon. Ms. Hudson has a hell of a lot going for her. Beyonce is on a downward spiral. There's threads out there on the internet where people are pissed off that she's in the halftime show with Prince. People feel like they are being forced fed Beyonce and are sick of her. I used to be a fan but now I'm just sick of her.

I did not go see Dreamgirls for Beyonce. I read reviews before hand that trashed her performance so I wasn't expecting much. Apparently neither was the other audience members that was there either, after you're going to love me standing ovation, after listen dead silence. I think Ms. Hudson does the song justice. From the tiny bit I heard in this trailer, she did great in her own way. She injects genuine Hudson emotion into it. You can hear tinges of her own hurt/joy that speak in a different voice than Ms. Holliday's. Eddie looks like he had fun with his role. I can't wait to see his full performance. I wish the trailer showed more of Jamie's character. Beyonce is a pretty little accessory, as usual.

the song "and i am telling you.." is powerful and moving on it's own and it takes a big, experienced voice, full of emotion to bring it to it's full glory. both jennifers have this in common. both in their own way. this song chooses its singers. i have seen many attempts to replicate holliday's version and it cannot be done. now hudson has put her own emotion and voice to it. i consider myself truely blessed to have witnessed both jennifers' interpretation of such a powerful song.

If you're worried about "And I Am Telling You", don't be. This trailor is just a sampling. She tares it up in the full version, and chooses different places for the power than Holiday. Wait and see/hear!

I think that Jennifer Holliday really sung that song. I'm not feeling Jennifer Hudson's version..that is one of those songs that should only be performed by the original artist, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she doesn't have any talent, but that just that the song doesn't fit her vocal range

You heard maybe 30 seconds of it. Plus they edited parts to fit in the trailer. Hear the whole thing and then get back to me on that. When you see the movie and her emotion, it will knock you on the floor. I've seen it 3 different times and each time I see her sing this song, I get chills.

wow..."American Idol" has conqured the Grammys with Kelly Clarkson's 2 Grammy wins and Fantasia's four Grammy nominations...and now Jennifer Hudson should at least get a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Oscars. I'm so proud of Jennifer because she was one of the few great singers on American Idol season 3 and now she has a movie and a new album coming out soon. cant wait for this movie!!
