  • i have depersonalization and this scares the shit out of me that kid sounds crazy , but people with dp are normal people. maybe he has a stronger dp then me idk , i got dp from weed and shrooms

  • ... I'm so interested in Tarnation, but I'm not allowed to watch it ...

  • my depersonalization and derealization came from his SAME EXACT situation!! omg

  • ya its pretty shitty i know what he talkin about to unfortunately

  • i saw this in the theatre when it came out and i just can't forget it, ever.

  • I forgot how it was to be normal you know..

  • Unfortunately I know what he is talking about.

  • Its amazing how the mind will snap, almost as if its trying to protect itself from a reality thats to hard to endure..

It could be multiple personality, schizophrenia or this "DP" , its like the brain trys to rewire itself into something, anything that can allow the person to survive.

Survive as what it doesn't care though..

  • Yes, it is like allergy, exaggerated defence of organism. In my case, alcohol was the starter of derealization. Its hard to live in society if anybodys self-assurance is at negative value. Than its better for mind to float away, out of reality. Few days ago I experienced feeling of reality. It was just for a little while, but I found again what means to have an energy, to could concentrate, to have a future...

  • @IronicallyVague normality does not exist.

  • @luciferAir Seriously...

commit one or two small , tiny little mass murders and people are running around screaming like your some kinda freak or something.

    People need to relax

  • @IronicallyVague I think I detect sarcasm. But I got a come back. In the murderers mind his actions are totally justified. Also, he as attributed emotions and notions to his actions in his mind. And when his mind has done all this it becomes normal in HIS MIND. Your normality is different, your justifications and reasoning make up another normality. If normality differs in its most fundamental essence, how can it even exist in the first place ?

  • @luciferAir - Yes, one can debate endlessly "what is truth" because it's all relative to someones perception of reality and that's why it's always best if you're looking to analyze someone to try and keep it simple and judge them solely on the terms if they are either good or evil.

& then chop them up into manageable pieces :)

  • @luciferAir - But with this Depersonalization disorder I find it very hard to visualize or grasp what they are going thru, the symptoms are described to be like you are floating in air and living in a dream. With all the other afflictions of the mind I can at least sympathize with their condition because I can understand better what they are going thru.

It's a very odd illness to understand.

  • @IronicallyVague Yet another state of what you call "reality".

  • omg, fucked up in a half, but pure genius,. who is that band/singer at 3:15?

  • The song is Reptile by Lisa Germano.

  • Wow, the most touching video Ive seen about depersonaliztion. It is quite disturbing.. I wonder if he's still alive

  • Yes, he is. This is a scene from the self-made documentary "Tarnation" by Jonathan Caouette. It's a great movie.
