Unbelievable band, second only to the Beatles in pop/rock. Glenn Tilbrook is a mad genius songwriter and guitarist, and his collaboration with Chris Difford is something magical like Lennon/McCartney. No better single greatest hits disc ever than their "Singles -45 and Under".
no tenia idea de squeeze por mi edad gracias al genio de Gus el mejor cantautor de la argentina Cerati oi de esta banda empeze a escarbar y me encantó y me encanta!!!muy buena musica!
i saw squeeze on the kiss my arse for a backstage pass tour they were the dogs testicles it was just crazy but somehow they made the mad work and they were just that may u listen and learn how a bloody down too earth band really rocks
I wouldn't say last great group from the UK, I would put this group in my top 5 from UK...yes with The Beatles, Stones, Floyd and Zepp......ok,ok, in my top 10 from UK with Cream,Tull...ok anyway you get my drift.
I can totally hear Split Enz doing this. You know that synthisizer 60's sound? Great band. Lead singer's a cutie!!! Loved him when I was a little girl...LOL
Finally, the song volume loud enough to enjoy on this version. It must be cranked to fully appreciate it. So melodic, a song so catchy and great proving squeeze was one of the best of the 80's bands hands down. See also "Pulling Musells from the shell."
Difford & Tillbrook were the Lennon & McCartney of the late '70s/early '80s

the cool thing about Squeeze it that the harmonies are usually sung from a 1/3rd beneath, rather than above.

One of my favorites from Squeeze but the speed is too damn slow from the original master...barely listenable like this.

Love the vibraphone riff towards the end of the song. Anyone know who played that? Was it Jools Holland or the drummer (Gilson Lavis)?

By Far, my favorite Squeeze song. (With "Annie Get Your Gun" second) And Yes, it has to be heard loud and clear.
BTW, are they still called "UK Squeeze" in Australia??
RealVerdad 2 years ago
I totally agree!This song is a classic

@lalba07 yeah, me too, and I was a boy. Something so great about this high quality 80's pop that makes you keep chasing that initial crack hit.

@lalba07
Funny you should menton Split Enz as Crowded House were 'inspired' by this song on one of their tracks off of Wood Face.
