  • Eargasmic!

  • earhole sex!!

  • I'm convinced that the part from 30 secs to about 1min-50 is what Douglas Adams is referring to in 'Hitchikers' as sounding like an angel crying.

    Just beautiful.

  • Jaw dropping performance by my fav guitarist

  • Knopfler will always be #1 for me

  • way too many musicians on stage making too much noise, it really takes away from Knopfler's solo

  • totally agree with heBull25... best guitar player and no one will ever be better.. from some metallic thing like guitar to be produced such a organic sound; that only one can be capable to do and he simply is Mark Knopfler... a million thanks to you Mark

  • Absolutnie najlepsza wersja TR ever

  • that was purely awesome!!

  • anyone else agree that this was knopflers best concert? he was a step above every song he played in my opinion

  • @masterj131 I totally agree..Telegraph road and sultans of swing especially

  • The best part is from 6:48 to 6:58!!! amazing song!!!

  • I take that back... 3:36 is pretty terrible too. All I really want is my Marky... not some pedophilic percussionist.

  • 2:22 is THE creepiest camera angle that could possibly have been taken.

  • 4:00 .....wow!

  • I have 3 versions of Telegraph Road and six versions of Sultans of Swing on my iPhone.

  • Trop bon j'adore :)

  • They all look terribly bored, and in a rush to get it over with. Not a patch on Alchemy Live.

  • I could watch and listen to this man play the guitar everyday....the only reason i love playing the guitar, Mr. Knopfler himself is responsible!

  • Haha the whole solo is like one f**king great lick. I like how the other players look at Knophler like "what the hell has gone to you?" for ex. 6:50-6:57.

    He's one of a kind!

  • That jet-takeoff fadeout at the end...chills.

  • This is one of the best things I've ever seen, ever felt, ever heard. What fu***** legends ! Telegraph Road is one of the most legendary songs ever made.

  • 1992 was a golden year for Dire Straits, I love bootlegs from this year

  • If this huge tour could help Philips Digital Compact Cassete, then nothing could prevent its failure.

  • no comment ! super !

  • Legendary.

  • Classy man

  • I love this song so much, and that solo!!! I could listen to it everyday...

  • 5:27 - 5:41

No matter how hard you try, you'll never be as awesome as Mark Knopfler in this part!

  • in questi momenti . .stavi scrivendo la storia . . grazie Mark . .

  • AND MARK KNOPFLER,

    YOU ARE A HERO!

  • I LOVE YOU DIRE STRAITS

  • Chris Whitten is having way too much fun drumming to this? Don't you think?

  • woooowww!! I was at the concert :-))))

  • This song is at 94% of its perfection. If Terry Williams from Alchemy was here, it would be 100%

  • @evenflow1816 100% right

  • @evenflow1816 Nahhh, replacing the 1st guitar solo with a sax solo prevents this version to reach perfection.

  • @evenflow1816 isn't that terry williams on drums, with danny cummings on percussion?

  • @heBull25

danny cummings on percussion chris whitten on drums

  • @romeolo okay, thanks mate :)

  • @evenflow1816

Chris Witten is very good drummer ....it's different than Terry and pick winter

  • @evenflow1816 I SO agree... Williams only bettered (in my humble opin ion) by Nick Mason.

  • I've checked some Dire Straits coverbands @ youtube performing this song. No any other band can match the real Dire Straits sound, voice or feeling with it. Last year i've been to a concert of Mark and he also performed this song: GOOSEBUMPS and tears of joy all the time, WOW! I hope he'll never retire! :D

  • GREAT PRESTATION !!!

    Incroyable talent !!

Oui, CA c'est un incroyable talent !!!

  • SUBLIME

  • FANTASTIC!! one of THE all time greats!

  • meravigliosamente struggente..

  • damn, my ears just had an 10 min orgasm..

  • Bluegrass version in Czech: Poutníci - Telegrafní cesta (Telegraph Road) also very good.

  • Love that steel.

  • that ending solo, along with sultans of swing from wembley 1985 and a night in london, is the best solo ever. knopfler kicks everyone's ass, he is so awesome. best guitarist ever, no one will ever be better.

  • @heBull25

    could not agree more

  • @heBull25 correction: tunnel of love is his best for sure :) it is a perfect masterpiece of a song. but so are all of Knopflers creations.

  • @heBull25 ugh you are full of shit. the best solo ever made is Tunnel of Love duh!

  • @theSicilianToe there's no reason to be mad, pal, I fully agree that TOL is an astonishingly amazing solo, but I still believe this and the two sultans of swing versions are better that tunnel of love. no need to say I'm full of shit, just sayin :)

  • @heBull25 I wasnt pissed lol. It was a joke.

  • @heBull25 What about Eric Clapton? I'd say they are different but equal *_*

  • @14FAILX41 eric clapton and jimi hendrix are the only other guitarists who can be compared to Mark. Knopfler still kicks everyone's ass, but then again Eric Clapton also kicks everyone's ass :)

  • @heBull25 Ooh Yes! :)

  • @heBull25

artist should never be compared,, thats the beauty of it. .. i like jimi just as much as mark,, just in a different way... you wouldnt compare Picasso with Van Gogh would ya? same thing,, all artist... they just have a different style.. and you dont compare styles.. you might like one more than the other,, but that doesnt make him the best :) love this song btw.. all versions have their own beauty

  • @heBull25 But...Synyster Gates

  • During the late '70's everything was overproduced - Dire Straits and Police were like a drink of cool water.

  • Simply excellent. Thanks for sharing this. /bow

  • Who could possibly dislike this?! Not a human being.

  • From 6.52.: maybe best guitar riff ever recorded

  • Comment removed

  • che suono.. fantastico

  • pure music genius .. great posts... one of the greats

  • dmf070 : I think the first video MTV aired was (the prophetic) "Video Killed the Radio Star"

  • When you are young, you want playing guitar. But my father listens to MK, ... seeing this : no chance to play guitar. lol.

    MK is a god !

  • @t29sinking

practice makes perfect my friend, look rocking fingers up on youtube he never had a lesson but plays just like mark

  • wasnt dire straits the first band to have a music video played on mtv with money for nothing?

  • I think there is many young people who like this music, for example I'm 19 :D

  • @MemeNatorius im 14 and i love dire straits. they're probably my favorite band of all time and they arent even in my era

  • @tannerr96 well said young man!!! I'm glad the younger generation can appreciate that todays music doesn't compare to yesterdays music!! A refreshing change :-)

  • God

  • God

  • so beautiful this solo, respect God damn it

  • Tak toto je uplna bomba.je to boh v hre na gitaru.

  • alter einfach nur geil nich mal auf perfekte musik programmierte pcs könn sowas DAS is einfach wirklich noch musik !!!!

  • God has stored this song on his I-phone ...

  • I grew up with this music and I still listen to it, good to see old videos and live performances on here though... memories...

  • best version of one of the greatest songs ever. hands down, it doesn't get any better than this. maybe sultans of swing from wembley arena and night in london get anywhere close

  • Pure brilliance!

  • Without equal, absolutely ,sublime, beautiful, an instruction for us all to achieve.

  • 239 views by now... and one of them was a tonedeaf lad..poor sod..

  • god bless you mark, thanks for this jewel.......

  • Es increíble. Este tío era demasiado grande.

  • Sound for my heart. Dire Straits forever. I love u Knopfler !!!

  • Just 4 words:

    THAT IS PURE AWESOMENESS !!

  • why do i always get goosebumps when mr knopfler plays it like i like it?

  • @onnoman It's because you are appropriately in love with the sounds...it's the vibe, man.nothing the matter,,,nothing off....just you and the music ...like I am when I hear many of the Moody Blues pieces. Natural, baby. Roll with it.

    Tom in Utica NY

PS...if you arent a musician, you should be.

  • Luv U Mark!

  • LUV U Mark!

  • Absolutely top-notch. This is my favourite DS gig and I would have loved to have been there. I can remember recording it on VHS when it was first broadcast!

  • I love this...

  • Ah Mark, we love you very much!

  • of course!!!!

he it's a excellent percussionist in general

incredible, doesn't looks like him, jajaja

  • Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! It just doesn't get ANY better than this!

  • Is that Danny Cummings on percussion??

  • @Wallygas18 - Yes, it is! :)

  • @DogSwede1 Awesome. This is by far my favorite band along with the guys he's playing with now. Just outstanding music.

  • @Wallygas18 yes it is this group is very fabulous, wonderfull musicians...

  • Jesus f*cking Christ. That Solo by the man Knopfler himself is sicker than fingering your sister and finding your dads wedding ring!

  • Ich lebe ein Steinwurf von Basel - konnte damals nicht anwesend sein - Video super!!

  • I have been trying to find this gig in dvd. There are some versions, but I am not sure if they are trustworthy. Do you know where to find a good version or, at least, a place we can download the full gig in a good quality video?

Telegraph Road is simply amazing, despite I would prefer the first solo on the guitar (like the original one) rather than in the saxophone (nothing against chris white, great saxophonist, I just like the original solo)

  • some people are born with god gifts !! maradona football, sugar ray leonard boxing, robert de niro acting, mark knophler geetarrrrrrrr and poor old me sex with gorgeous girls !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6.01 -> orgasmic....

  • Does anyone know where can i get this live version?? This is probably the best live version of telegraph road i've heard and i simply need to have it on my ipod!!!

  • Very dangerous to put this song on your pod ... ^^

  • try limewire

  • I think this is the same version as the one available in the Money For Nothing Album

  • The one on the compilation album is from the Alchemy gig. :)

  • oh my god. knopfler. best

  • what guitar is he using there, looks like a fender and ive looked on the fender sight but i didnt see a guitar that looks like that....

  • Pensa-Suhr :)

  • interesting name...thanks

  • @kAnGarUaN I think it's a PRS...( Paul Reed Smith)......I want one some day, once I've got the Gibson thing out my system.

  • @gizatoob - It's a Pensa-Suhr MK1 :)

  • @DogSwede1 Yeah, he came up with this axe first at the Mandela-Gig with Clapton.

in the late-9ties a spanish air-company "lost" it.

  • @DogSwede1 For his 2010 Get Lucky tour, Mark uses a variety of guitars, including a Grosh ElectraJet finished in Vintage White with two P90s and a tortoise pickguard and his own Fender & Pensa signature models.

The Grosh ElectraJet can be heard on "Piper to the end".

  • @gizatoob nah i found out its a pensa suhr :D kool i dont really know much bour PRS guitars coz im more of a strat fan hehe

  • Best live band ever!

    Best guitar player ever!

  • omg, MARK KNOPFLER IS A GOD ! (L)

  • ograsmic

  • Best song Dire Straits ever made!

  • A TRUE GOD ,best version ive ever herd......

  • AWESOME

    pure gold

  • 4skinmasseure: Now days even old people listen to TV-"Idol"-music and Eurovison Song Contest-music. Most people does - exept people who still appreciate true rock!

  • they don't make people like Mark anymore

    yep

  • This is not boring! This is real music... But, you wouldn't know.

  • Well, it's a lot more interesting than e.g Britney Spears, or Coldplay or those screamo bands with no riff or lyrics, so... I think this is my best choice...

  • Same here, same here :)

  • I'm 14 and i love this music. There's no law that you have to listen to music from your "era". One reason I don't is because IT SUCKS. A lot of artists are just wannabes who can't even play live, and some don't have the feeling for real music. This is the best music there is in my honest opinion. Everyone has got their own opinion, don't mix yours up with others.

  • @PeeNoYaKo Wise words from a fourteen year old, I prefer Led Zeppelin myself, But Mark Knopfler has some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

  • i agree completly with you and im 14 too!!!

  • @PeeNoYaKo I feel really sorry for anyone dissing modern music. There's more and better music now than ever, all you have to do is find it.

  • Comment removed

  • @PeeNoYaKo Good onya kid!!! Your right the crap they play these days is disgusting and no real skill required all done on computer and fake!!! This is real music and if you can pull it off in front of hundreds of thousands and get it to sound just as good as the studio recording im a fan!! There should be more of you??

  • @PeeNoYaKo If there is such law, break it! It’s criminal not knowing this piece of art

  • @PeeNoYaKo good for you mate i was fortunate to be into this band when they was popular in the 80s. it doesnt matter how old you are or what type of music genre you listen to. i dont rate modern music but i can listen to just about anything if its good and it pulls the right strings then enjoy it. :)

  • @PeeNoYaKo you're (all)right !

  • Simple the best!!!!!! great:-)))

  • cmq gente proprio nn ce n'era !!!

  • ohh my god !!!!

  • he's the GUITAR HERO

  • Pas mal pour s'endormir -_-'

  • I´ve heard about 20 live-versions from Mark.

This seems to be the best for me.

Great job and thanks for the upload

  • simply tremendous

  • O melhor de sempre!!!!

  • From a time when Rock was Symphony--Beautiful!

  • One of the best songs of all time!

    Best live performance ever!

This concert (almost) makes me cry!

  • There are no words...

  • this my favourite live version of this song. mark knopfler at his very best

  • I think that Love Over Gold is the best album of DS

  • this is so beautiful, Mark is the best.

  • I want Mark's headband :D

  • What guitar is he playing? Some kind of power Strat, but which?

  • It's a Pensa Suhr MK1. Fantastic guitar.

  • One of the most moving and beautiful guitar solos of all time. The end section: every note counts and sings. Brilliant.

The album "Love Over Gold" is a masterpiece, and this song in its 14 minutes of development, is the high point.

  • no words to describe the feelings this sound bring to me

one of the most amazing songs of all time

    thanks

  • Stunning performance but Phil Palmers jeans are distressing me.

  • :D :D
