@Happytreefriendsfan3 Donkey Kong Country is too frustrating for me. Even the New one for Wii I am playing through has a bit of that frustration that was in the old ones. It's more tolerable in the new one simply because the graphics and variety is greater in the new one. I suppose this means I am not as big a platform game fan as others then. It's funny how beautiful the graphics are in those games are, but now when people judge graphics in mainstream Publications, it's gotta be photo-real.
@Happytreefriendsfan3 DKC is similar to Ghouls N Ghosts by Capcom. Your main character is very fragile, Memorization gameplay with very little fudging room. A good example of a game with lots of fudging gameplay is my favorite game of all time, Advance Guardian Heroes (Made by TREASURE). I play it on the hardest level, it's one of the hardest games ever, I get super angry, but actually want to keep playing. If there were a little fudging in the Gameplay of DK, I'd love it. Touching enemies a +.
@JoethePocalypse Haha, his hand looks like his cheek puffing. If there were a hole in the back of his buddies' head, he'd look like he's blowing air through it while fire comes out the other side. Judging by how violently his butt is gyrating up and down, I'd say he's giving it all. Kind looks like me when I'm eating an extra tasty bologna sandwich.
@stringanime XD that's exactly what i was thinking in a nut shell. This list is pretty cool too, i just kinda wish earthbound was in it or something :P
@stringanime great game, its probably one of my favorites... I love the music, it really is unique.ive played a lot of the games in this video too, i have to say, you have great selection!
@aashir8 No, haha. This is MY opinion. But I understand how you could say that seeing as you are probably holding some other list as the standard. Wouldn't that be boring if every Top 10 was based off some standard of "Correctness?"
hello i recently came across a one of these game systems completely unopened every thing sealed in original packaging never used how much would it be worth
@33BMX33 depends on which game, and how realistic ya wanna be. I got games like Radiant Silvergun that are priced anywhere between 100 to 300 dollars, but no one's gonna pay 300, well not most anyone. check ebay or amazon to see the going rate and check which prices actually get bids on ebay..
Anyway, I would have put Zelda III, Super Metroid and Mega Man X on my list... as most people would have! haha. I think I would. If allowed SFC games... hmmm.... to difficult to decide! At least ALL the games on your list are awesome. I do like Dracula XX (or whatever you want to call it) better than Castlevania IV. Then again, I'd rather just play that on my PCE Duo. :D
This is just me, but Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator and Umihara Kawase would have made my list, and I would have picked Kirby Super Star over Kirby's Dream Land 3.
Was Super Castlevania IV the same as Silent Hill 2 in the sense that Konami produced it but it was a team like Star Team or Team Silent that actually made it?
@KedViper Right. Even within Star Team, there were key people that left, and went to go make it as a development house. This happens a lot. Brilliant minds leave companies, and the company is left with the reputation that those people made for it. I look up to TREASURE, because I am an animator for Mtv and Nick and I am creating a new Youtube channel that will be entirely under my control and I will make funny cartoons that will please people watching instead of the head honchos.
Good list but Donkey kong country,Super mario rpg,Kirby´s superstar,Megaman x and the legend of zelda link to the past should be in it. Then it would perfect.
Pretty good list. Number one was a shocker, but definitely agree that it is tops for the system, as is 'vania vi.
My top list includes Super Battletoads, Super Earth Defense Force, Tales of Fantasia, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, Super Castlevania IV, Contra 3, Axelay, Final Fight trilogy, and Super Double Dragon.
@y2k4ever1 Yeah my tastes are a tad unique. Especially when you consider my SEGA Top 10. I seem to like the same 90's arcade type games on both Platforms. Come to think of it, I always like 90's style Arcade games.
Here is my top 10 1.Simcity 2.Harvest Moon 3.F-Zero 4.Super Mario World 5.Zelda III 6.Super Metroid 7.Terranigma 8.Final Fantasy 4 9.Gradius III 10.(TIE) Final Fantasy 6/Chrono Trigger man to many good games on this System to simply choose a top ten... But I could Play Simcity all day :)
@bartosx I never owned an NES, I owned a SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, and it was filled with Arcade Ports from SEGA. I bike road to Arcades in the 80's and 90's. The first RPG/Adventure game that got to me was Light Crusader for SEGA GENESIS. After that game I started branching out a bit, and for Wii I played and BEAT my first Zelda Game with little help. I am interested most in TREASURE developed Arcade action type games that remind me of the Frantic Arcade hay days, but I am developing a taste 4 others
Very nice list. My top 10 would be quite different with RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Zelda, Illusion of Gaia and other games like F-Zero. But there's nothing wrong with yours. All excellent games.
@stringanime not to be stereotypical but the one I enjoyed the most was Ocarina of Time. The gameplay and music is so great when I hear Lon Lon ranch i wanna cry. lol But my fav rpg of all time is super mario rpg legend of the seven stars for the snes
@SamWesKidwell Nothing wrong with stereotypic tastes that the SNES was defined by. There were a lot of games not on my list that are very well made games whether I like them or not.
@stringanime The best Zelda to me has to A Link to the Past on the SNES. It's a masterpiece, imo. But Ocarina of time on the N64 was also epic. And Link's Awakening DX for the GameBoy Color is also one of the best.
nice except that you didn´t pick Zelda or Metroid. Those were the best games according to myself. Contra, meh but it fits into the top 10. Also Super Mario Allstars. But good anyway.
@mariomenu Danke! We all hav such unique tastes and interesting lists. I like Metroid and Zelda on Wii, but never cared for them on SNES, not sure why. Bad taste? Maybe.
@mariomenu Yes I am German Italian Irish English Polish.....Well I live in USA. Ich Spreche Einbessien Deutsch. Nichtt so viel. Fom mein mutter Ich habe gelehrnt.
What people do not understand is that everyone's list is personal to themselves depending on memories and personal experiences. Everyone should just chill out and just watch these great classics
@19822andy Correct. One person says there is an accounting for taste, I say there isn't. It would take way too much time and effort to form a list that most people would agree with, but then what is the point of being an individual or even bothering to make a list? The fun is sucked right out of a top Ten as soon as I start setting aside my personal tastes.
@stringanime A lot of these lists I have seen major trolling but no one is saying the games lists are based on absolute fact. I watch these lists for inspiration on what to play next. That's why I love these lists. They are all different. I even saw Pit-Fighter on one of the lists XD
@stringanime They didn't with me either. The only RPG's I spent playing are Morrowind (Best game Ever in my opinion) and Fallout 2 & 3. I liked the 7th Saga though. I only started playing that back in October
@UberMarauder Objective? not sure if a human is capable of making an Objective list. I suppose it would be a list based off statistics, but doesn't that seem boring. In my subjective view, Most SNES RPGs Adventure games don't appeal to me. My tastes have more to do with Bizarre and Frantic games that either stood out or were one of a Kind.
@UberMarauder If you think that game is hard then try Contra Hard Corps on the Mega-Drive. At least I could get passed the first few levels of Contra 3!! 8{
The problem with making a Top SNES games list is that there are so many great games not everyone is gonna be happy. Like for me I wouldn't dream of leaving Super Metroid or Megaman X out .
@RockmanII7 I understand...I loved playing those games. One day I hope to really try Super Metroid, I am warming up to it. I liked Metroid Prime 3 for Wii and Metroid other M. Those two games got me interested.
@CriticalPrince Oh come on! You don't see my unique tastes as an interesting departure from the normal Boring lists everyone has memorized containing Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 2, Metroid, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Blah Blahh?
Wow, I must say. I haven't watched a top 10 list in a while. Usually because the top #5 are all obvious choices. I want to see a unique AND right list. It doesn't mean I have to agree.. I just want to see praise given for games that deserve praise.
The main thing that surprised me was near the top #5 I was thinking.. "No one ever puts castlevania 4 on the list.. or contra3".. heh.. what do you know.
Great video. There are three games that I would swap in though. Actraiser, Met3 and LTTP.
and yes, I realize that met3 and LTTP seem like obvious choices. These are some of the few cases where they actually ARE as deserving of their praise.
Then again, if I had my choice I would make it a top 20 list. Simply too many good SNES games.
I'm still discovering rare gems to thsi day. I played a first person RPG the other day that I actually got hooked on. It's 2d when you are in towns and dungeons but 3d outside.. I can't remember the name but I got so hooked. Polygonal.
@LanIost Nice to meet someone who can appreciate a little uniqueness in taste. Not sure What LTTP is or what the Polygonal RPG is. Hope you check out my other videos, I am an animator.
@winnerboi102 HAHA thanks.... For Wii I beat Zelda Twilight Princess...That kept my interest. However I have to admit, the reason I finally gave adventuregames a chance was a game called "Light Crusader" for SEGA Genesis.....People think I hav to conform my list to Top Seller list or popular list. I am sure you can see the lack of appeal that has concidering how many Top game list seem like they were birthed from the same mind. yawn? anyone?
any body else like mega manX at all that shit was fun and mario 3 was better than super mario world 1 should be mario 3 2 should be mario kart 3 should be any thing else mario 4 mega man x 5 mortal kombat 6 battle toads and double dragon 7 punchout 8 fukin paperboy 9 duckhunt 10 NBA jams
Nice top ten. Your #3 is my #1, Super Castlevania IV, holy smudge that was a great game. The graphics and audio gave a wonderful feeling of the castle.
@hornetpalooza Thanks, did you know that key members of Konami that designed Castlevania 4 are now working for TREASURE? That's why Treasure games are so good...Gunstar Heroes, IKARUGA, Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, Astro Boy Omega Facter, Sin and Punishment Star Successor for Wii is their latest offering as of 2010.
@stringanime No, the last console I played any Castlevania on was GBA. Or PS (SOTN), which ever was the later. :)
I hardly play any new games at all. CV4 has a special place because it brought my favourite platformer to the next level. It was, IMO, the most beautiful game of it's time. As a coder myself I can appreciate the effort they put into all the details.
@hornetpalooza Coder huh? That's interesting, I am an animator 3D and 2D for TV adds and Video games (XBOX Live and Flash). What kind of stuff do you code? Gotta web page? My site is My name with a DOT COM at the end. The team that made Catlvania 4 was called Star Team, they were responsible for Contra 3 and Axelay as well as some famous arcade classics such as TMNT and Simpsons and Bucky O'Hare. Although I do not Code myself, I have learned enough to appreciate good work like theirs.
I agree with hornetpalooza. I would have put Castlevania IV in first place too. I didn't know that the key members are now working for treasure though, which is a shame. I've played Gunstar heroes and Ikaruga but have had no idea that they were partly responsible for Super Castlevania IV. Which is a shame, I think individuals should have more praise for their work rather than a team as a whole. So the correct people are credited for masterpieces like this.
@lewis128 Not only the Credit given, but also if we know Designers left Konami which made Konami never the same....Do we buy games based of Brand or based off Quality? That is why I buy TREASURE games, they are a company that is founded on the idea of doing new things. If CAstlevania is to ever have anything really new, Konami is gonna have to hire TREASURE to make another Castlevania.....Much like they did with Gradius V for PS2.
Exactly. I'd actually be more interested in another Castlevania with the same graphical style as IV. Like the MegaMan and Sonic series have. I'd buy it off Wii's WiiWare or XBLA without thinking twice.
It's a similar story to Rare. My favourite games like the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, DK64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Conkers bad fur day etc etc. Most of the original people don't work there anymore. Sad to think these games have "finished"
@lewis128 I am not one to look for Signs, but I do find it interesting how TREASURE was hired for Gradius V, and there is no Contra V or Castlevania V yet.... Perhaps things are building up to that...It's a long shot what that would be cool. It's more than Graphics, there is always that hook and rythm to TREASURE's gameplay that when their staff worked under Konami they put in AXELAY, Bucky O'Hare, Simpsons, Castlevania 4, Contra 3, TMNT....That has been lacking in Konami games since.
The Video is bad cause there is no Super Metroid or Zelda so this video is bad. Emergency order.Selfdestruction protocal activated. Detonation in 5 minutes. Please evacuate the facility imediatly.
@thetitanicsinking It isn't bad, it's different....Am I the only one who has made a Top Ten without Zelda or Metroid? There's no accounting for taste. I get compliments for having a somewhat peculiar taste in games....I am sure there are weirder lists...Somewhere out there, is a Top ten with no Mario no Yoshi no Metroid No Zelda, no Nintendo franchises...THAT would be interesting.
@MasterMonsters Yes I get slammed for not dancing to the mainstream taste tune. While I, as well as you, can tell Metroid and Zelda are well made games, that doesn't mean we will want to spend our time with them. Glad you can enjoy a few surprises in a top ten.
@thecomputerist I believe that game is using Bits as a style, rather than a limitation. Tough to say, I don't know if Master Chief or Sac Boy could suddenly run through a Scott Pilgrim stage or not.
@stringanime yes, but what does it look like more ? 8 bit or 16 bit ? i believe the music is 8 bit but the game can't look like 8 bits because its to detailed ! and what do you mean by master chief or sac boy couldn't suddenly run through a scott pilgrim stage ?
Really nice list. Mine looks something like this: 1.Donkey Kong Country 2.Super Metroid 3.Secret of Mana 4.Contra III 5.Castlevania 4 6.Demons Crest 7.Axelay 8.Yoshis Island 9.Super Turrican 10.Area 88 / SF2
@gmoney101392 Understandable. I usually play games that harken to the old days of arcade gaming, which is probably why Contra 3 is my number 1. Only recently hav I developed a taste for big adventure and I am looking forward to Metroid Other M.
super metroid always killed my brain cells, trying to figure out where to go next, backtracking a ton of fucking times, and dropping bombs every where in search for missle capacity upgrades. it was still a good game though.
@reidawg312 No doubt, Super Metroid was a Benchmark, however I am thankful that my tastes and opinion have not been changed just because Nintendo brought a series one more step closer to something I would like to play. Metroid Other M will be my first Metroid that is 3rd person and I intend to fully enjoy. While the SNES had Hardware limitations, or maybe the designers ran out of funds, that stunted the experience of balanced Search and Destroy; I don't see anything holding the Wii back.
you have an awesome top 10!! i agree a little surprised to not see any games like donkey kong, or zelda, or any of the famous rpg games the snes was known for, but i shouldn't talk crap because this is your top 10 favorite snes games and is all your opinion, over all though you put in some amazing games! im working on one myself a top 30 actually and im using both snes and sfc games in mine :)
@mikefolk212 Thanks, it is a good idea to have a Top favs with SFC included because for some, that is how they experienced the SNES using a converter. Like my top 10 for SEGA 16 Bit, I had to include MEGA DRIVE games because that is when I first got into importing. So while most in the USA only knew SEGA for SONIC, Streets of Rage, and Vectorman, I got to experience SEGA at full strength using a converter cartridge. As for Zelda Metroid DK, I never could finish a Zelda Metroid or DK until Wii.
@stringanime ya with my snes i modified it myself by breaking those pieces of plastic inside the game slot that stop sfc games from being played. once you rip those out then the game fits perfectly in the snes and you can play the games like your playing a sfc system. i found out by watching it on youtube. my question is how did you make your video was it difficult cause i have no idea what you use to record and how to upload the video on you tube? did you just use a normal video camera or what?
@mikefolk212 Yeah, with the N64, people would melt off portions of the Cartridges so that they would play in USA N64s. I rented Japan N64 Bomberman, and the Bottom Corners were melted off. I will answer your other questions in a message.
@punkmario06 Many of us who never liked Metroid or Zelda until Wii are oppressed by the MEGA FAN energy flowing in all Videogamedom. My story is one of SEGA 8 bit, through Dreamcast. Over the years, you may have noticed Nintendo has changed their games a lot, to better suit SEGA gamers, we are more about Bosses and Explosions than adventure, everything Adventurous SEGA ever did well, they messed it all up eventually! HAHA, sigh...But if SEGA brought out Alex Kid in Miracle World 2, I'd buy it.
@stringanime yeah i left out megaman X, lol i can understand that not everyone likes megaman. but metroid and zelda have fantastic bosses aswell as adventure! have you played castlevania symphony of the night, kept the tight controls and immense bosses of castlevania but added adventure, ill admit it is a genre i had to grow into, when i was kid i just couldnt do it, but going back and playing them all again, they feel superb!
@CHAOSin8bits Got that Right....Most of the 3rd party support for SEGA couldn't out-shine the Heavey hitters of SEGA, but Treasure added that edge (and then some) that some 3rd Party hits on SNES had. Sin and Punishment 2 for Wii is Game of the Year!
@dengmxjhs you know what, I really Tried. With my SEGA list, I can get away with "No Sonic" because honestly there is so much better games than Sonic on SEGA. However with Nintendo, I just sit and scratch my head when I try to think of a reason to not have Mario on.
@battybuddy I tried to be honest with my Top 10 and at the Same time consider the Idea of replaying these games. Often, a game I know is awesome didn't make it on my list because the Thought of replaying it again really didn't have much appeal. That's why Rocky and Pocky made it, I could imagine popping it in right now and playing it, even for a little bit to get my fix. Same thing goes for when I make Art for anything, I try to create stuff I would mind seeing later again.
Yes rocky and pocky! This game is REALLY GOOD. but doesnt get alot of recogntion ive played both on snes and emulator there just that goooood. I agree with the other games to I dotn really like zelda and stuff but I do like meh a good kirby game :DD
@tehnooblegend Thanks for having a similar set of tastes as me! People can't wrap their minds around the idea of someone not being very interested in Zelda Games. Understandably they are high budget adventure action games but until Twilight Princess for Wii, I could not stay interested in a Zelda game long enough to finish one.
@megaboomface I'd get Super castlevania 4 before any other castlevania .
I have not played the Rebirth yet but I can tell you the original NES castlevanias still make me angry. THEY ARE TOUGH and unless Nostalgia release has a hold of you, I wouldn't waste the points. A game to consider is castlevania for Turbo Graphics, it is really challenging but not discouraging. Also a good adventure sidescroller for SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive is "PULSEMAN" I regret not buying it years ago. very nice
@stringanime well i want to try out the nes ones!!!!! i dont think i will get super metroid but maybe castlevania rondo of blood and adventure rebirth
@megaboomface I see, you are 19, that would explain your curiosity of the old Castlevanias. Let me tell you my experience with the Castlevanias being a Kid of the 80s who did not have an NES. I was the odd-ball kid with a SEGA MASTER SYSTEM... When Castlevania came out, Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 was still very widely played. The spooky atmosphere of Castlevania's detailed Graphics and sounds was unmatched. I remember going to friends' houses and usually stopping before the 3rd boss. so have fun
I count three comments on this page that express dismay over the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past not being on here, and I think there should be at least seven! UNBELIEVABLE!
@stringanime....good to see someone unashamedly visually, viscerally and animé action orientated in their preferences in synapse excitation.i preferred the fast paced yet worthwhile konami/treasure style of the 16 bit era although i do still have an appreciation for the rpgs of the time even tho they weren't my preference when i was an early teen.liking the konami re-birth stuff at the moment...never been an aficionado on the subject but always loved the 16 bit grfx
@dannyofthededd Yeah, I pretty much looked for anything that got my heart pumping like an Arcade machine, back in the 90's that used to mean something. Treasure taught me that Arcade action is about escape and the feel of a game, not just the Graphics or sound. Sin and Punishment 2 is the latest Treasure offering that once again keeps Arcade action evolving at home. pretty much the ultimate game for me would be called Weapons and Bosses. If you have a Wii, download Alien Soldier for SEGA. nice
@LamentOfInnocence1 Yes, I realize I represent a very peculiar skew of gamers. I never finished a Zelda until Wii... Perhaps if Wii has a Chrono Trigger, and they change it from the original as much as Zelda was changed from the SNES version, I will like it.
Damn, Pocky & Rocky looks legit.

@stringanime The best Zelda to me has to A Link to the Past on the SNES. It's a masterpiece, imo. But Ocarina of time on the N64 was also epic. And Link's Awakening DX for the GameBoy Color is also one of the best.

19822andy 1 year ago
What people do not understand is that everyone's list is personal to themselves depending on memories and personal experiences. Everyone should just chill out and just watch these great classics
19822andy 1 year ago 2
@19822andy Correct. One person says there is an accounting for taste, I say there isn't. It would take way too much time and effort to form a list that most people would agree with, but then what is the point of being an individual or even bothering to make a list? The fun is sucked right out of a top Ten as soon as I start setting aside my personal tastes.
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime A lot of these lists I have seen major trolling but no one is saying the games lists are based on absolute fact. I watch these lists for inspiration on what to play next. That's why I love these lists. They are all different. I even saw Pit-Fighter on one of the lists XD

@19822andy Pit Fighter haha. That's cool. My SEGA Genesis Top list is even Stranger, not one Sonic Game.

contra 3 its so imposible that it cant be the first one (if there is an objective list)
UberMarauder 1 year ago
@UberMarauder Objective? not sure if a human is capable of making an Objective list. I suppose it would be a list based off statistics, but doesn't that seem boring. In my subjective view, Most SNES RPGs Adventure games don't appeal to me. My tastes have more to do with Bizarre and Frantic games that either stood out or were one of a Kind.
FrankStringini 1 year ago
@UberMarauder If you think that game is hard then try Contra Hard Corps on the Mega-Drive. At least I could get passed the first few levels of Contra 3!! 8{
19822andy 1 year ago
The problem with making a Top SNES games list is that there are so many great games not everyone is gonna be happy. Like for me I wouldn't dream of leaving Super Metroid or Megaman X out .
RockmanII7 1 year ago
@RockmanII7 I understand...I loved playing those games. One day I hope to really try Super Metroid, I am warming up to it. I liked Metroid Prime 3 for Wii and Metroid other M. Those two games got me interested.

CriticalPrince 1 year ago
@CriticalPrince Oh come on! You don't see my unique tastes as an interesting departure from the normal Boring lists everyone has memorized containing Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 2, Metroid, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Blah Blahh?
FrankStringini 1 year ago
Wow, I must say. I haven't watched a top 10 list in a while. Usually because the top #5 are all obvious choices. I want to see a unique AND right list. It doesn't mean I have to agree.. I just want to see praise given for games that deserve praise.
The main thing that surprised me was near the top #5 I was thinking.. "No one ever puts castlevania 4 on the list.. or contra3".. heh.. what do you know.
Great video. There are three games that I would swap in though. Actraiser, Met3 and LTTP.
LanIost 1 year ago
and yes, I realize that met3 and LTTP seem like obvious choices.
Polygonal.
LanIost 1 year ago
@LanIost Nice to meet someone who can appreciate a little uniqueness in taste. Not sure What LTTP is or what the Polygonal RPG is. Hope you check out my other videos, I am an animator.

@winnerboi102 HAHA thanks.... For Wii I beat Zelda Twilight Princess...That kept my interest. However I have to admit, the reason I finally gave adventuregames a chance was a game called "Light Crusader" for SEGA Genesis.....People think I hav to conform my list to Top Seller list or popular list. Nice top ten. Your #3 is my #1, Super Castlevania IV, holy smudge that was a great game. The graphics and audio gave a wonderful feeling of the castle.
hornetpalooza 1 year ago
@hornetpalooza Thanks, did you know that key members of Konami that designed Castlevania 4 are now working for TREASURE? That's why Treasure games are so good...Gunstar Heroes, IKARUGA, Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, Astro Boy Omega Facter, Sin and Punishment Star Successor for Wii is their latest offering as of 2010.
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime No, the last console I played any Castlevania on was GBA. Or PS (SOTN), which ever was the later. :)
I hardly play any new games at all. CV4 has a special place because it brought my favourite platformer to the next level. It was, IMO, the most beautiful game of it's time. As a coder myself I can appreciate the effort they put into all the details.
hornetpalooza 1 year ago
@hornetpalooza Coder huh? That's interesting, I am an animator 3D and 2D for TV adds and Video games (XBOX Live and Flash). What kind of stuff do you code? Gotta web page? My site is My name with a DOT COM at the end. The team that made Catlvania 4 was called Star Team, they were responsible for Contra 3 and Axelay as well as some famous arcade classics such as TMNT and Simpsons and Bucky O'Hare. Although I do not Code myself, I have learned enough to appreciate good work like theirs.
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime
So the correct people are credited for masterpieces like this.
lewis128 1 year ago
@lewis128 Not only the Credit given, but also if we know Designers left Konami which made Konami never the same....Do we buy games based of Brand or based off Quality? That is why I buy TREASURE games, they are a company that is founded on the idea of doing new things. If CAstlevania is to ever have anything really new, Konami is gonna have to hire TREASURE to make another Castlevania.....Much like they did with Gradius V for PS2.
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime
Sad to think these games have "finished"
lewis128 1 year ago
@lewis128 I am not one to look for Signs, but I do find it interesting how TREASURE was hired for Gradius V, and there is no Contra V or Castlevania V yet.... Perhaps things are building up to that...It's a long shot what that would be cool. It's more than Graphics, there is always that hook and rythm to TREASURE's gameplay that when their staff worked under Konami they put in AXELAY, Bucky O'Hare, Simpsons, Castlevania 4, Contra 3, TMNT....That has been lacking in Konami games since.

@thecomputerist I believe that game is using Bits as a style, rather than a limitation. Tough to say, I don't know if Master Chief or Sac Boy could suddenly run through a Scott Pilgrim stage or not.

@stringanime yes, but what does it look like more ? 8 bit or 16 bit ? i believe the music is 8 bit but the game can't look like 8 bits because its to detailed ! and what do you mean by master chief or sac boy couldn't suddenly run through a scott pilgrim stage ?

gmoney101392 1 year ago
@gmoney101392 Understandable. I usually play games that harken to the old days of arcade gaming, which is probably why Contra 3 is my number 1. Only recently hav I developed a taste for big adventure and I am looking forward to Metroid Other M.
stringanime 1 year ago
YES contra 3 for the fuckin win man.
MariosGuy 1 year ago
@MariosGuy Is not Contra 3 just the most Kickin game on the SNES?....It is just an explosion of everything I like about the Super Nintendo.
stringanime 1 year ago
super metroid always killed my brain cells, trying to figure out where to go next, backtracking a ton of fucking times, and dropping bombs every where in search for missle capacity upgrades. it was still a good game though.
reidawg312 1 year ago
@reidawg312 No doubt, Super Metroid was a Benchmark, however I am thankful that my tastes and opinion have not been changed just because Nintendo brought a series one more step closer to something I would like to play. Metroid Other M will be my first Metroid that is 3rd person and I intend to fully enjoy. While the SNES had Hardware limitations, or maybe the designers ran out of funds, that stunted the experience of balanced Search and Destroy; I don't see anything holding the Wii back.

you have an awesome top 10!! i agree a little surprised to not see any games like donkey kong, or zelda, or any of the famous rpg games the snes was known for, but i shouldn't talk crap because this is your top 10 favorite snes games and is all your opinion, over all though you put in some amazing games! im working on one myself a top 30 actually and im using both snes and sfc games in mine :)
mikefolk212 1 year ago
@mikefolk212 Thanks, it is a good idea to have a Top favs with SFC included because for some, that is how they experienced the SNES using a converter. Like my top 10 for SEGA 16 Bit, I had to include MEGA DRIVE games because that is when I first got into importing. So while most in the USA only knew SEGA for SONIC, Streets of Rage, and Vectorman, I got to experience SEGA at full strength using a converter cartridge. As for Zelda Metroid DK, I never could finish a Zelda Metroid or DK until Wii.
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime ya with my snes i modified it myself by breaking those pieces of plastic inside the game slot that stop sfc games from being played. once you rip those out then the game fits perfectly in the snes and you can play the games like your playing a sfc system. i found out by watching it on youtube. my question is how did you make your video was it difficult cause i have no idea what you use to record and how to upload the video on you tube? did you just use a normal video camera or what?
mikefolk212 1 year ago
@mikefolk212 Yeah, with the N64, people would melt off portions of the Cartridges so that they would play in USA N64s. I rented Japan N64 Bomberman, and the Bottom Corners were melted off. I will answer your other questions in a message.
stringanime 1 year ago
still a good top 10,. but seriously, no link to the past or super metroid! wow, thats brave, lol but still a good list
punkmario06 1 year ago
@punkmario06 Many of us who never liked Metroid or Zelda until Wii are oppressed by the MEGA FAN energy flowing in all Videogamedom. My story is one of SEGA 8 bit, through Dreamcast. Over the years, you may have noticed Nintendo has changed their games a lot, to better suit SEGA gamers, we are more about Bosses and Explosions than adventure, everything Adventurous SEGA ever did well, they messed it all up eventually! HAHA, sigh...But if SEGA brought out Alex Kid in Miracle World 2, I'd buy it.
stringanime 1 year ago

THE STORY, THE DIFFICULTY OF THE FINAL BOSS, THE WONDERFUL ENDING THAT MADE BEATING THAT FINAL BOSS SO WORTH WHILE!
I love that game- it's the kind of game you'd usually have starring a faceless jet, but they stuck in a couple of expressive characters.
I had someone find a fanart I did once and she told me I had to do another one. I really need to one of these days.
battybuddy 1 year ago
@battybuddy I tried to be honest with my Top 10 and at the Same time consider the Idea of replaying these games. Often, a game I know is awesome didn't make it on my list because the Thought of replaying it again really didn't have much appeal. That's why Rocky and Pocky made it, I could imagine popping it in right now and playing it, even for a little bit to get my fix. Same thing goes for when I make Art for anything, I try to create stuff I would mind seeing later again.

Also a good adventure sidescroller for SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive is "PULSEMAN" I regret not buying it years ago. very nice
stringanime 1 year ago
@stringanime well i want to try out the nes ones!!!!! i dont think i will get super metroid but maybe castlevania rondo of blood and adventure rebirth
megaboomface 1 year ago
@megaboomface I see, you are 19, that would explain your curiosity of the old Castlevanias. Let me tell you my experience with the Castlevanias being a Kid of the 80s who did not have an NES. I was the odd-ball kid with a SEGA MASTER SYSTEM... When Castlevania came out, Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 was still very widely played. The spooky atmosphere of Castlevania's detailed Graphics and sounds was unmatched. I remember going to friends' houses and usually stopping before the 3rd boss. so have fun

dannyofthededd 1 year ago
@dannyofthededd Yeah, I pretty much looked for anything that got my heart pumping like an Arcade machine, back in the 90's that used to mean something. Treasure taught me that Arcade action is about escape and the feel of a game, not just the Graphics or sound. Sin and Punishment 2 is the latest Treasure offering that once again keeps Arcade action evolving at home. pretty much the ultimate game for me would be called Weapons and Bosses. If you have a Wii, download Alien Soldier for SEGA. nice
