I remember watching this match when it first aired, and since I didn't understand how a bodyslam worked back then, I was really impressed when Adonis went up for Gagne. Adonis was a really good worker, even with all the extra weight later on.
augh,,,, when orton starts massaging the luscious one.. augh.... i shot a huge load... augh.. both of them adored each other.... big hot ring homos..... aughyeah
I met Greg Gagne several times because my brother played baseball with his son Pete Gagne. His son is awesome, full of piss and vinegar just like his dad was. Did anybody hear about Gagne's dad, Vern Gagne. At an old folks home some 97 yr old man was "mouthing off", so Vern got into an altercation with him and killed the old man by body slamming him or something. The police aren't sure whether to charge him because Vern Gagne has altzeimers. Anyways, I just think its cool, I met Greg many times
This was a pretty good match, even though Greg Gagne being pushed as a main eventer was pretty silly because he was so skinny. Seemed to be a pretty solid worker though, when you're the son of the guy who trained Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat, you better be able to work a match! I know the AWA was in its decline by this time, but I miss wrestling like this so much compared to the garbage today. When kayfabe died, wrestling died IMO
Sorry but the last 4yrs of his life he went from a tough respected brawler in reasonable shape to that "Adorable one" I often wondered what caused him to just let himself go like that. and people always talk about Andre's decline.I think he could have made the WWE Hall of Fame he was a decent wrestler in his prime NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.
My eyes almost fell out of my head and my mouth dropped to the floor seeing Adrain after his post WWF career.Well at least you didn't see his weiner sticking out of his trunks like with his Wrestlemania3 match with Roddy Piper because his gut completely over hung his front end.
Adonis is even fatter than he was at Wrestlemania 3 which was bad enough. It is a shame as I always found him entertaining and enjoyed his work. It must be hard to maintain your standards and motivation when you have had a run in something like the WWF and go back to the AWA which at this point was on a massive slide to bush league status.
The funny thing is that how Adrian is wrestling in this match, is in stark contrast as to how he perform from the late 70's to even a year before this (1987) in which he was agile as a cat, and took the best bumps out of anyone from that era.
He really ballooned after he left the WWF. So sad. I hope ppl who watch this match and haven't seen Adonis wrestle before don't judge him for this performance; he was a very good wrestler even a yr prior to this match.

as big as he got, he was still suprisingly agile. I used to enjoy his upside down flip when he was thrown into the turnbucle.

Interesting to see Adonis, Orton and Muraco all go to the AWA after the WWF, I always wanted Piper to go there too and rekindle the feud
