Deuteronomy was for the Hebrew tribes that were part of Gods covenant, its purpose was to keep evil from within. These laws no longer apply due to new testament teachings. Many of the laws still apply however just not that one and a few others due to being superceded. Besides that law would be righteous if it was useful
Mark 6:11, simply states that at the day of judgement it will be worse for them that that of sodom and gomorrah. It says to move on not for Christians to kill them

Jesus reveals himself to us christians. He's very active in our lives daily. We preach this news because of the experience we have with him daily. i don't think anyone can see whats going on before or after the camera is rolling, aside from the people that were there. so making a judgement about what was going on before or after these events leaves the entire thing suspect in my opinion.
