I wasted so much time with this installation another day and the client wouldn't connect to the server. I tried installing in 3 different pcs with same error. The Web interface worked.

Another thing is that I found out that VMWare management software is only for stupid windows (that was enough for me)

@slopppynet thats correct if you have the right hard ware Esxi still have an advantage with their hardware emulation i used xenserver5 for about a mouth and love it but it was was a pain in the ass trying to get trixbox to install so i had to go back to exsi :(

You left out network card compatibility. Realtek's aren't supported and the majority of on board network cards are Realteks

Indeed... ESX is geared towards servers and mainly supports boardcom and intel nics out of the box as those are the main nics found in servers and pushed by big servers makers, ibm, hp, dell, etc... it doesn't easily support any bleed edge drivers/nics.

a funny thing about warp speed; in the movies when they travel warp speed the light from stars zoom past them -- which in reality is completely opposite -- even as you approach the speed of light, the stars appear to be standing still to the observer because the stars are so many millions of light years away
