It IS likely this cat will suffer from obesity issues. Just because the majority of cats are overweight in the United States doesn't mean it should be considered acceptable or therefore it is no longer a health concern. Over feeding pets is just as abusive, health wise, as under feeding your pet.  Visit your local veterinarian to find out what a healthy size for Loki is and try to get him there in a healthy way.

The cat us probably liking the moisture off of the watermelon for the water or because it likes the sweetness of the water.
