My sons E-Max is trashed and needs an overhaul.... Looks like your E-Max would eat my 2.5 Revvo for lunch! I'm thinking my sons E-Max needs dual 775's.... Thanks for posting the video
awesome, i tried doing this with just one 775 and maybe it was hooked up wrong or something but it was deag dog slow, but yours is great i really like it, since ive tried that an failed i ended up doing the dual velineons, but your truck really impressed me and has me thinking of doing dual 775's on my summit!!!! thanks!!!!
@heelys93 If you use the stock twin 550 motor mount you have to do some dremeling on the mount and a little on the case. on my build I couldn't go any lower than a 20T pinion. And that setup works out quite well. Of course I only have a single 775. The esc puts out the full 16.8 volts out of each channel so you can run twins off a single esc.
Dude thats pretty sick. i,ve just got E MAXX [ brushed ] it,s fine for now but when ny motors o go i think i,m gonna do this conversion. is it easy[ anything to dremel ] and do the motors connect straight up to the 16.8v evx2? are you running NIMH. cheers.
hey. i have a few questions. how many cells are you running? and the titan 775 motors come with 2 positive and negative wires so how did you get 4 positive wires and 4 negative wires to fit in the esc? (did you just disconnect one + and - wire on each motor? i am doing the same thing with my emaxx.) thanks
are you running the twin titan 775 on the evx2? if so, how? the titan 775 is meant for 14+ volts. just need to know. i just bought a titan 775 off ebay for my old emaxx, and might have to buy another after seeing your vid. also, what gearing did you use?
i am going to run my emaxx on 4s lipo once i get the new motor and completly rebuild the maxx.
okay so i get that the 775 are better than stock, but how does one 775 compare to two 775's? Also with the dual titan 775's are you using the stock evx-2?
Sorry, just got my computer back up. So to answer some questions. 1 775 is better than 2 550, temps on the motors are great, esc does get pretty hot but not a problem. It is not to hard to install, if you get 25t pinions you don't have shave on your tranny (with the 2 775's it is actually low geared, it's what I'm running in the vid). It does however take alittle time to prep, make sure you line up your motor before you open up your mount holes so that your gear mess properly.
Dose the Titan motors holes line up with the motor mount, or did you get different one, or drill out new holes? and was it easy to install, because i'm gonna do it when i get my E-Maxx in two weeks.
Promatched are the best nimh buy far in my opinion. These are 4200's and they have 5000's now. I also like the tekin battery doctor 8.0 to discharge and balance your cells.
hi i like your truck idea i am going to do it but i do not know what type of batteries to use. so your batteries last about 30 min right . 2 15 min runs. if any knows the like top 5 battery brands in nimh 8.4v 7 cell help me please . thanks
i dont know if its just me but the truck actually sounds smoother with the 775's. Tigerfan3905 with that much torque how is your drivetrain holding up?
No problems, when I first got my E-Maxx I broke the center shaft from doing jumps and landing in some rocks. One got lodged in and it broke. I just try to avoid rocks now.
Bad idea you won't get enough rpms unless you run at least 14volts. But if you manage to do that you'll have one sick ass slash. Oh yeah you also got to redrill the motor mounts since the mounting points on the 775 is wider.
that is depending how you gear. If you gear like tigerfan3905 did you'll het stock speeds. toss on a 33 tooth pinion then your good to go with plenty of torque still to spare. However, two of thoose motors are heavy
wow, you put two Summit Motors that's cool. I've never seen that before, but you can see the power. I'm sorry, I didn't get it, are you running dual seven cells or just one. I don't know if the esc will run with just one or not. Is the 25t pinion larger or smaller than stock?
Tell you what, your stupid ass can use one battery or one motor, or two missmatched batteries. I'll use two batteries and two motors and you find somebody elses vids to talk about that stupid shit.
dude my friend has an e revo with two kershaw designs revolver motors that cost 80 bucks, you keep the stock esc, and u hit in the mid forties with twin seven cell 5000 mah nimh batteries. its GNARLY
You have to use the 5mm pinions, and 9t would be way to low. I'm using 25t on it and it has alot of torque and speed. Robinson racing carries a wide variety of 5mm pinions, and yes you can use the stock plate but you will have to drill it out alittle to get the proper mesh.
sweet man, how did you run your wires from the 775??? cause i think the motor has 2 pos. and 2 neg. leads on it...how did you wire the two motors for the speed contrl.?
12 or 14 cells nimh? or lipo 4s? i want work this mod me too! but the titans 775 have 4 plugs & on the standard titan 550 there are olny 2 plugs...how did you do? please answer =)
Just put your motor in with pinion to get an idea of where it needs to be to mesh with the spur, and drill out the holes for your mount screws. There larger than the 550's (mount screws) and it may take a few grinds to get it right. The 25t pinions give enough space to fit them, and as you can see it still has plenty low end.
Motor and batteries no problem, ESC gets alittle hot. I don't have a hole in my body either which would help with that. But I can run 10-15 min before I need to cut it off. Batteries last me nearly 3 good runs, there incredible for nimh.
The promatched batteries give it the motors a ton of power. I was using venom and got about a 1/3 of the power seemed like. Also the MGT 8.0 tires are tall and pick the speed up alot over the stock traxxas tires.
what do you do with the four wires? how do you connect this 775 if you only have 2 wires on the other side?

Just put your motor in with pinion to get an idea of where it needs to be to mesh with the spur, and drill out the holes for your mount screws. There larger than the 550's (mount screws) and it may take a few grinds to get it right. The 25t pinions give enough space to fit them, and as you can see it still has plenty low end.
