the obvious choice is the Canon 300 HS mainly a) wider view so you can get more stuff in the frame without having to back up, b) better image stabilization that is clearly noticiable , looks a little better video quality too. Plus keep in mind you can record at 120 fps (in 680 but great for slow mo) and it is an actual decent camera as well. Hands down Canon wins. Not as great audio is just a minor setback.
yeah like i said the Flip has just a slight hint of white noise none on the canon no echo or anything else seems like it cuts out more of the background noise but if you want to hear all of that the flip wins the canon is still cleaner audio wise but not as "bright" as you said it's not as present or "RIGHT there" as the flip is. but the video HUGE difference for sure! you have that on 720 or 1080?
@TheNorthernTech well then it was a fair test all across the board. like i said i like the flip's audio but put it up against the canon audio goes to flip still video goes to canon. far as the panasonic it kinda was out of the league because you can put an external mic on it. for video that canon was pretty close but i still preferr what i see out of the canon personally. I mean hell there was only Subtle differences between my 300hs and my T2i. that's saying something!
In my opinion the Flip wins because of better audio and imho better brightness-control (for example in the video when you are about to leave the garage). If the Flip would have the wide-angle-lens of the canon, it would be ultra-awesome :D
Canon wins for the picture, wide angle is much more useful than narrow-sighted, but the audtio goes to the Flip which is much clearer and easier to hear on my laptop speakers... :)
Well Canon wins for video quality and wide angle, but the audio sounds worse. I'd imagine the Canon is a better choice since Flips dont have auto-focus, or any focus for that matter.

The flip seems so shaky, are you sure it was securely bolted to the mount, or does it just suck that much?
cjhoylemusic 5 months ago
@cjhoylemusic the flip has no image stabilization. Cisco said it does but I beg to differ.

Oh, and given past issues with the Canon, it's autofocus sucks, it keeps leaving you looking all blurry cos it's too slow to focus...
