Can i ask what exactly you trying to say in your videos. you showing empty shops and boarded up houses. then going to the other richer side of town. Its the people of hartlepool who have made it the way it is today.The Drunks and druggies, The private leasing companies have forced the shops to close with such high rents and rates, however you can see there are some people trying to change it for the better, the councils are tearing down the boarded up houses to build modern clean homes. etc
I am saying Hartlepool has its good points and its bad points just like any town or city my videos are a light hearted look at the town if they provoke debate, criticism or a reaction then the videos I produce will done their job. In answer to your statement around housing, true they tear them down and re-build but the housing associations will re stock them with the drunks and druggies you mentioned . . . new houses same problems (",)
The gate at the end, The Sandwell Gate, at the Fish Sands, is perhaps the only main gate in a Town Wall, that faces the sea. Beside it is where the music hall song said the Monkey was hanged.
Unti the 1950s there was a street at sea level directly behind it, and when there was a high tide the houses flooded.
Many thanks for uploading this video, Drew. It's great to see so many of Hartlepool's nice spots, especially the marina and headland.
