BTW we do have meteor impacts that we know about. Here is one.... Look into the eye of quebec. You can see it on google earth. It is a circular lake formed due to the impact of a meteor. Now, if you remember your highschool physics, how much kinetic energy would be required to create that ring? We know this, we also know what kind of energy would be released on impact. The energy released would have been enough to likely cause humans to go extinct. BTW that is only one of the impacts.....

Just WOW. 1) if earth had an ice ring that fell, regardless if it is possible, we are still talking about a sterilization event. The water would still reach orbital impact temperatures, literally steaming the entire planet. Next problem... the earth lacks impact craters because we have endogenic processes. This means we still have an active core allowing for the flow of molten material onto the surface. We also have erosion which tends to wear down anything else.

the reason that earth does not have too many craters these days is because of erosion, or perhaps ur too stupid to realize that. earth is not the only planet with few craters. VENUS is ALSO does NOT have many craters. WHY? because like earth it has a thick atmosphere, as WELL as volcanoes. Our planet had all the same craters. The atmosphere eroded them away, and prevented future craters. The moon is proof that the atmosphere evaporates meteor, it is covered due to lack of atmosphere. Actually Earth has been hit by more objects than the Moon. The reason we do not see as many craters is because of plate tectonic and volcanic activity, erosion, redeposition. Aside from the obvious stronger atmospheric protection on Earth than on the Moon or Earth's stronger gravity well.

We don't find it hard to believe the earth was hit by "ice meteors" (or as we in the real world call them, COMETS).

And the reason we aren't covered in the same number of craters as other bodies in the solar system is because we have geologic processes such as erosion and continental drift going on that, over time, fill in the small to medium sized craters.

There is a reason that ice worlds are not any closer to us than Jupiter--it is too hot closer in, and the vacuum of space will turn such worlds into gas. This is what the tail of a comet is. It is also why long-lasting comets are only close to the Sun for short portions of their orbits--if they spent the majority of their time near the Sun, they would be destroyed much faster.

Oh dear... is this a joke? The Earth has few craters for the same reason that it has so few large mountains—weathering, erosion, tectonic activity, and a thick atmosphere. It has nothing to do with some divine protection. Compare with Mars, which has a thin atmosphere—as you pointed out—and little tectonic activity. Or perhaps, compare to Mercury, which has virtually no atmosphere at all. Or Venus, which has plenty of atmosphere, but little tectonic activity or erosion.
