  • How much ???

  • looks ok but is dangerous. Two crashes in a few months with 3 people dead. Buyer beware.

  • @realchange2012 dont bash it, ive flown one multiple times without incident. Its a great helicopter, and its a safe helicopter

  • @hawker800FO

It's great if the rotors stay on. But they haven't been. The cause of BOTH crashes.

  • Christ it's ugly

  • My Dream. Have License and will upgrade for Jet Engine for R66! Akira

  • WHY IS THIS AWESOME BIRD CALLED THE R-66? R-22 IS A 2-PLACE, BIRD---THE R-44 IS A 4-PLACE BIRD---IS THE R-66 A 6 PLACE BIRD?

  • @bionictrucker1 R44 seats 5

  • @Megameatloaf The one I was just in could only seat 4

  • @Megameatloaf Incorrect, the R44 seats 4. I know, I've flown on one.

  • Look at the butt hole on that thing.

  • una maravilla esta brutal

  • Here is my thought, you might have a different one but this is mine. Why don't they, you still listening, why don't they make the body taller and, keep listening, and lose the damn T bar. If they mane the cockpit taller and raised the landing rods than you could lose the T bar without heads being chopped off. I think it would make it look SOOOO much nicer.

  • @94eyung R22, R44 and the new R66 arnt about looks, there primary role and function is as a cheap but efficient charter/sight seeing helicopter with the R22 primarily ridden solo as a cattle muster machine. An R22 retails around the 300-400 thousand dollars (thats the 2 seater piston engine version of this) Its sturdy reliable and efficient. The people that own and buy these are not interested in looks. There after a cost effective and practical solution for the buisness.

  • loose that friggin T bar crap and move into the 2000's!!!!

  • I wish my A check was that quick

  • I WANT ONE!

  • (Clears throat) My birthday is in June! (:D)

  • Lo compreroooo presto!!!!!

  • I'll bet this becomes the world's best selling turbine helicopter. Not a typical, streamlined, design you'd expect in a turbine aircraft but I'm sure it's well engineered.

  • is this a 4 place chopper? like the 44 just with a turbine?

  • @bradporky16 5 place

  • @bradporky16 its a 5 seat

  • Damn! wheres the sound!

  • Dear Santa,

  • what's the price of this helicopter?

  • @axelbrinck1

    $800.000 standard!!

  • @rama6maiden :For a turbine powered 5 seater,$800,000 is quite cheap.

  • @browing1974 the r66 is a turbine i never knew bc the r44 and r22 were piston

  • it looks like a variant of R44, what's the difference?

  • @htl2247 the R66 is turbine powered and seats 5, the R44 is piston engine powered and seats 4

  • @htl2247 its powered by a turbine not pistons

  • @FL4ME5 Rolls-Royce RR300 turbine, specially designed and built for the R66!

  • @huppypuppy i know!!!

  • I have every ounce of respect for Robinson but retro styling is cool when it comes to furniture... or cars... but a million dollar helicopter - c'mon make it look something other than the coolest thing for 1958.

  • @foxtrot789 The design isn't retro, it's cheap. And I don't mean cheap as in lame, cheap as in inexpensive. Frank Robinson is a brilliant man and this helicopter will become the next Bell 206. Just wait a few years and see. Robinson Helicopters do something that no one else has been able to do, inexpensive and reliable. Now you can add powerful too. :)

  • @helipilot3333 I hear ya, but... it just looks like something found at Disneyland's Tomorrowland. It's just my opinion, that, if you spend that much on a toy, you'd probably be willing to spend a few bucks more to have a tad of style. Regardless, great aircraft! :)

  • the nose is shaped a lot like a bell 206

  • I love Robinson helicopters!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks good!

  • nice sound like the bell 206

  • Would this be any threat to the bell 206?

  • @caioghiotto About competition eurocopters and bell they are, robison helicopters are most economical price of them bel and euro the most peformace and style you can travel, awesome piece of machine especially this r66.

  • @caioghiotto The R44 II already can outrun a death ranger, and can lift just about as much on the hook. Most companies look for the oldest S/N machines they can get because they are lighter. A jet box can't be sent out for a 100 hrs with out an engineer usually. The Robby can. With a jet buggy you are on either temp or torque limits. Unless you have a janitrol heater you will freeze your ass in a 2x6, the new 66 has heated seats (now there is some forward thinking).

  • What's the latest delivery time on the R66?

  • Good o

  • Hey this pilot took my flight test! Doug!

  • did you see the SR-22 taxing behind

  • probably the nicest looking Robinson and that is saying allot. Probably expensive as hell. Don't see it being that successful though. The appeal of the robinson is for the flight schools. Someone looking for a turbine will most probably get a Bell or similar, its simply a more confortable platform. This might see business in the tour industry though. In fact I bet my bottom dollar that is where most of these are going to.

  • what is the diffrence between this and the r44

  • @20stevieray R44 is 6 cylinder air cooled horizontally opposed piston engine. R66 is turbine.

  • I already had a R66 but returned it to get something faster.

  • anyone consider that it's so quiet because it was recorded at a low mic volume?

  • I fly the R22 Beta Were can i get the 66?

  • thats sick crazy awesome :P

  • is it like flying a robi or a turbine?

  • Comment removed

  • These R66's are the most quiet choppers ever.

  • I was the first person to fly the R66 in australia.

  • its a 5 seater with a rolls royce turbine engine. its much bigger than the r44 and has a storage area.

its still in the prototype stage though.

  • Personally, I find the Robinson R-Series better looking than the Jet-Ranger, but I don't think they can be a replacement that easily. I don't know about the operating parameters, but the structual intregrity of a Jet-Ranger looks much higher.

  • Pretty unfamiliar to me, the sound of a turbine from a Robinson ;-)

Awesome Piece of metal and plastic!

    Go R66, go!

  • is it a 5 seater

  • Yes 5 seats

  • @Hauschild09 ye they are5 seaters dad has a r44 and would love a r66

  • smooth

  • Did he turn it on!? It's so quiet!

Makes the Jet ranger startup sound like a 737 engine, wow impressive.

    It's a R44 with a turbine right, that's about it....it has one extra seat I think.

  • Silent machine.

  • I wouldn't waste my money on a helicopter like this. Why not buy a 500 or a Jetranger and get your moneys worth. The R66 might be cheap but after 2000 hours you have a pile of metal!!!!!

  • Well for one, it has a lot more range than a 500 -- the R66 can stay airborne for 1.5 times as long as a 500. Not quite the gas hog that the 500 is, but has similar performance otherwise.

  • With respect sir, you are making no sense whatsoever.

  • Quiet as a mouse for a turbine ship!

  • Smooth pilot!

  • Looks like a vary nice addition to the Robinson line.......

I wish all involved the best with this new bird......

  • I think they are like ultra lights but helicopters! May be its just a personal prefrence. I have talk to many people who have flowen r22's and 300's and they think the 300's are a much better machine! and i have done about the same amount of time in each i think the 300 is much better

  • So, besides the turbine upgrade, what makes this different from the R-44?

  • Theres an extra seat and luggage compartment.

should be a nice little replacement for the ever so popular Bell Jetrangers... as long as Franky puts the right price tag on em.

  • Nice machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • r22's,r44's and r66 suck!!!! they are nothing like the AS350's,Jetranger's,500's or 300's

  • If you say so, turbine's are always going to be better but id rather not piss all my money away on feul

  • Seconded

  • R22 are nice for training flights. u have good visibility and its quite fast

  • retarded statement is retarded.

Go look at a price list and when the Squirrels and 206's were made, then you might see the flaw in your logic.

  • Sounds very nice for a robbie ;-)
