You might take a closer look at the tabs for the intro. it sounds like you're striking D G e D D G e D so the low note sounds twice. it's actually D G e G D G e G... also the very last chord before the verse isn't correct, an open D will do just fine.

You might also consider filming your fretwork in addition to your pickwork.

its good and im not insulting you but i consider it a crime against music when this song is played on a six string a friend of mine covered it with a les paul and i was just sad he made that mistake This song dosent have the orginal feel without a 12 string

@pdesil true, but not everyone owns a twelve string. It's relatively pointless to buy one to play one song, that is unless you start composing a repetoire of other tunes that sound best on a 12 string
