  • where's singe's tooth?

  • how did he do that on an acoustic guitar?? o.O

    damn god!!!!

  • Amazing tapping sound. I can't believe he can make an acoustic sound like that.

  • @H057IL3 his extra long fingers help a bit, but it is still amazing (he does use a piezo pickup as well I think)

  • The vocal arrangement in this classic Mr. Big track...makes me wanna get the King's Singers to cover it!

  • paul is blessed with long fingers....

  • Now this is a song that i never thought i would hear done acoustic !!!!

    But i like it !

  • @SLee1337 now everyone's lookin' at mike's teeth while listening to this hahaha

  • What is the effect he has on his guitar for the intro? It's very interesting.

  • @pskibobby It sounds like a very good Compressor. That's it.

  • @pskibobby No effects at all..He can make tapping sound good on acoustic.

  • @AstriBlair

I'm not doubting that at all. It just sounds almost like the sound is fading in and out while he's playing the intro, maybe its just me.

  • @pskibobby it sounds like a bit of compression, but that's just a combination of good fret hand mute and tapping prowess

  • what is he wearing, german army overalls? :D good song

  • what is he wearing :D good song

  • mr big did it better, they rocked!!!!!

  • @lipsandeyez dude, the song before this one was "going to California"... they were at acoustic-melodic part of the show....

  • i prefer this version to the original,i m not an eric martin fan

  • Mikes voice is awsome! if you dont look the video, just simular to the original sound from Eric Martin.

  • Paul is great! he's my guitar hero but i love the version with eric of course

  • i thought he was going to play the acoustic guitar the normal way, BUT NO: he activates god mode again, damn.

  • at 1:26 i thought he was gonna say 'sixtee nineeee!'

  • 10 people cant finger tap on a steel string acoustic

  • This is such an AMAZING song! Great job Mike and Paul.

  • szuters!!!

  • is it just me or is the timing a little off on the intro??

  • @Coohmedian ...no it's you ....how many gigs have you done recently ?....

  • @Coohmedian IF IT IS SO WHAT JUST BLAME GOD FOR CREATING A THING CALLED HUMANS!!

  • jack black´s son singing?

  • I didn't know teeth counted in a musical performance.

  • @azkeyz I'm glad at least someone said that! silly fuckers i say

  • I think the real message here is get a pair of miliary coveralls , put on a marty graw part mask and stick a bucket on my head.

  • Ok so the green tint and the fog is just the LDS oops I mean the LSD

My advice is don't hang out with janis she's an evil roman pagan diety.

  • I'm kidding , that green tint is due to the aladine anti radar paint on the huey.

  • That green tint is due to a pack of muslims.

  • I walked in to this with a chip on my sholder towards 80s acoustic ballads

This didn't help get rid of it

The playing skill level doesn't seem to match the intended mood of the lyrics

The vocal harmonization could have used serious work.

The lyrics could have been thought up by any teen ager.

My mind doesn't want to believe paul gilbert does sappy teen age ballads in an attempt to appeal to a an audiance hopped up on cafine and snack cakes.

  • 10 persons never heard music in their planet

  • @SLee1337 ROFL!

  • is that john paul jones on the keyboard????? :D:D:D:D

  • Truly Inspirational.

  • I can't find the tabs for this song and i can't find it on spotify! :(

  • @m14k15ts29 god gave you ears.. 2 of them :)

  • @SLee1337 LOL!

  • And he puts in a great second voice too! Nice harmony and dynamics control. A true musician.

  • The best part about Paul Gilbert is that he's one of the greatest guitarists ever, but yet he looks like a random stranger who's sitting next to you on a bus, takes class!

  • transform to be with you into some power metal...and then turn green tinted 60's mind into acoustic..... nice.....

  • @SLee1337 Guthrie Govan, Buckethead, Ron Thal, Cristophe Godin and Brett Garsed maybe?

  • @SLee1337 I know he is, but it wasn't a reply to the top rated comment, it was a reply to the one down a few comments.

  • oh boy

this is the best performance of green tinted sixties mind i've ever seen

  • can anyone tell me what kind of acoustic guitar paul gilbert plays? thank you.

  • probably custom made Ibanez!!!

  • @bernhardtsen74 oh? well then there goes my investment on buying a guitar.

  • @bernhardtsen74 its an ibanez pga1000

  • this is the 1st song I listen to before I start working...

  • great duo

  • wow

  • IoI....You`re absolutely right!

  • mike needs a denture. asap.

  • IoI...you`re absolutely right!

  • mike sounds awesome ^^v

  • Doesnt matter how many times I hear this song.....they dont make em like that any more

  • are you still a human? wow!

  • There is a keyboardist on this song if you watched the whole thing you'd see him.

  • if you were a 90's child... then hearin this song would flood you with a lot of stories in the head... aninice anthem this song is... paul gilbert rocks!

  • I want to have Paul's children.

  • That guitar has a really electronic sound, it's really cool!

  • I still love the original but this is very cool indeed. Gilbert rules.

  • i don` t like his voice !

  • @manachiam sorry to hear that :(

  • modern music SUCKS this is real music

  • @jshawn777 I so agree! Those RnB songs sounds the same and even modern rock have no depth and some new artists are just talentless like the Jonas Brother and Justin beaver.. Annoying! I'm so glad Mr. Big is back =).

  • Paulbert is an amazing shredder!! He should be more famous thaan he is right now.

  • great guitar, and great vocals for mike and paul for his accompanying vocals. Just plain amazing

  • what should the german flag on his shoulder?

  • @MrHappyGoo That's just a german flag on his shouder.

  • @lucasmamoru

    that explains everything ^^

  • hats off to mike. that was great

  • Hey Mike, what about that dentist that I told you?

    But any way, nice song!!!!

  • i think the only one you could argue might be vai

  • Truly amazing

  • kyoutendouchi!!!

  • Wow amazing performance... KUDOS Mike!! Not the easiest tune to pull off

  • Rock on Mike!

  • can i ask smth how did he shred using acoustic guitar??

  • i think he has so much feeling that it doesnt matter how it is playey, in every way he plays it great with such a dynamic..just awesome

  • pg is amazing

i always watch his hands to know how he plays this song, but he plays it many different ways, and all of them sound perfect

i love this man. he's my hero

  • this song is soooo good,it can remove all of your stress, haha

  • he is my inspiration

  • Paul's acoustic tone is amazing.

  • @AirHendrix91 Agreed. I have that same Ibanez acoustic and I can't get mine to sound like that.

  • @pefenheitenaught he tunes his acoustics down to c sometimes, so that might be how hes making sound the way it does.

  • mike sueter hahah sueter in spanish means sweater hahaha

  • awesome

  • the german flag on his jacket XD your in the army now or what?^^

Paul amazes me every time i see a vid of him awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's the brand of clothes he's wearing.

  • my brother got the same jacket wen he was in the army^^ in germany its military standard clothing

  • if he did join the army we would have world peace cause his amazing guitar skills will humble even the most cruel tyrant

  • ;D good point! it would be nice to see in war when he walks on the battlefield playing guitar and every body stops shooting and then just listening^^ War is Over!

  • it's nice to see different nuance of vocals singing this song...although eric martin is certainly one of the best vocalist out there...

  • mike's got quite the voice ... wow

  • Yeah... who knew? I saw Mike with Paul at G3 in Chicago in '08 and, well, I did not see this in him.

  • @bangades you are so pathetic

  • yeah eric martin sings well..but mike's not bad that bad enough not to be appreciated..he sings well too, eric's just a bit of pitch ahead..hehehe

  • mike's more than just a bassist!, Paul then is one of a kind...

  • BUENA SONG,, Y LO MAS PAJA ES TOCARLO .

  • he makes it look so easy

  • anyone noticed a scar on mike's left cheek? maybe thats the reason why he is missing a few teeth.

  • My ManCrush <3

  • @XxSameerxX mine too lol <3

  • nice voice!!

  • I have an Ibanez PGM301. It is a cool guitar. I took it to band practice the other day, and all the guys laughed at it because of the fake "F" holes.......

  • don't people who don't know about Paul amuse you? xD.

  • Ya, he is such a stud! I agree with the man-crush thing xxsameeraxx is talking about. I hope to meet him someday.

  • i don't think there is a more technically accomplished guitarist alive today

  • Well not exactly.

There's always a closet guitar master hither and thither, but he is defintely one of the best. can't question that.

  • @slashhare There's alot of guitarists that are just as accomplished, but few have the pop sensibility and as strong of a songwriting skill that Paul does. Mattias IA Eklundh I think is one that does. Paul and Andy Timmons are maybe my favorite two I think.

  • @sjk254 i wouls also put RItchie Kotzen, despite lots of fanboys being "jealousy" for him taking paul's shoes in mr. big... whatever... just enjoy... lol

  • @alexaffonso Exactly.

  • @slashhare

    John Petrucci

  • @titidou714 is full of himself. but still a good guitarist.

  • @therealpsp1mp "but still a good guitarist" ???? he is the most fucking AWESOME AND GODLY GUITARIST THERE IS IN FUCKING HISTORY.

  • @1337Noobtuber i really hope you are kidding. fan picking over arpeggio's doesnt make you godly, it just makes you fast and sloppy.

  • @therealpsp1mp no I was referring my comment to paul gilbert.

  • @1337Noobtuber agreed

  • @slashhare Then you don't know Kiko Loureiro (Angra).I worship Paul Gilbert, but there is no one alive technically better than Kiko.

  • @slashhare Then you don't know Kiko Loureiro. I worship Paul Gilbert, but there is no one more technically accomplished than Kiko.

  • @pedrolipkinprosa Actually yes, shawn lane.

  • @slashhare Kiko Loureiro is better technically...

  • @slashhare Well, Marty Friedman is my second favorite idol next to Paul. I think he's just as great though, although his talent somewhat stays hidden behind Japanese music these days. However, both Paul and Marty still make great and interesting music - love them both <3

  • @slashhare , Tommy Emmanuel?

  • @slashhare . Tommy Emmanuel?

  • @slashhare Guthrie Govan is probably the most well rounded guitarist out there. He and Paul aren't really comparable but they're both equally unbelievable.

  • @AraGuitar Finally somebody with a respectable mindset about two fantastic musicians.

  • @slashhare guthrie govan

  • @slashhare Try listening to Allan Holdsworth or Mike Stern.

  • I wouldn't want to be in a band with those idiots who wouldn't know cool if it smacked them in the face.

  • They are good guys. We r all different in age. I doubt these guys even know who Mr. Big is. I am not hip to some of the stuff they listen to either, so it is cool. :)

  • Probably the best version I've heard of this song and everyone's talking about teeth -_-

  • cuz we know its good aint no need to nit pick bout the conversation

  • yeah ibanez is his sponsor

  • is thata a ibanez acustic?

  • and it dont even matter that he has a bunch of missing teeth

  • The story behind those teeth is that he wanted to make an Ozzy's parody when someone threw a metal bat.

  • He ate a live bat, as in the animal o.o

  • oh he got lots just cuz of this song lmao

  • i wonder how much pussy mike got after this show.

  • Mike's a good singer!

  • is mike paul's bassist? (sorry, dumb question)

  • Yeah, he's the one singing on this track. He's normally the bassist.

  • Thanks =)

  • amazing how he does the tapping on that acoustic

  • Strings 0.09...

    I think!!!

  • still prefer eric martin..

  • amen to that. theres an epic squeal on addicted to that rush somewhere on youtube :D

  • if thats not easy listenin i dont know what is. this is one of them songs where everyone will just stop what there doing and listen to the whole thing without moving. love it.

  • eric sings better than him.

  • of course , eric is the best , dummy

  • haha!i wudn't like eric more if i was one.

  • nice vocals...very pleasant in the ears...! great performance... paul gilbert still is one of the best..!

  • I love pail's backing vocals..

    so perfect..!!

  • Is Mike missing teeth?

  • haha!

  • 2:13, who ever thumbed down, you obviously weren't watching this.

  • damn good!

  • I think this version is probably the best version. i like better than the mr big one, well its my opinion. lol

  • I agree. The intro is genius.

  • beautiful version of this song! :-)

  • beautifull song !!! I like paul gilbert so much... thanks for came to jakarta...

  • 2003- Guitar Wars

  • when was this? which year ?

  • IT WAS 1066 BATTLE OF HEY STRINGS

  • if you listen to the intro it almost sounds like a reverse tape machine totally cool great song writing from paul gilbert more power to the man...

  • If you really like that style check out billy McLaughlin.

  • Huh? Then how did they play it live and have it sound dead on?
