Yep that horse is a POS now u road him on the road. I would just put him down ..... People comments are IGNORANT gezzy pete. OH Crap I will have put mine down too, I road her on the road also. AH SHIT gunna have to put my whole herd down. damn it all to hell. I am going into goats!
look...we dont ride only on the roads...we just make videos on the roads...takes maybe 10 or 15 minutes of road riding. If you dont want to ride your horse on the road then dont! I don't really give a crap what you do with your horse...you feed it and you pay the vet bills so what business is it of mine...and oh yeah my horses are not your responsibility either so go save your own horses! and hug a tree if it makes you feel better!!!!!
@tyrone1610 well u will have to get in line to get this mare. she has rock stars baby in her and it should be a bad colt! she breaks level and rock broke above level!! both have speed but rock will touch 30mph so i am hoping for a big flashy spotted stud colt. thanks for the compliment on her...we really like her alot
@gtstables same hard surface and it will cause lots of damage. That's a lot of weight to be slamming down onto a hard surface. That's why stunt horses wear rubber shoes on top of their normal shoes while running across hard surfaces such as cement and asphalt. Your horse could easily slip and fall on asphalt.
@LifeIsDeceiving lol! its called sarcasm...if u cant stand the idea of this mare racking up and down the road for the rest of her life there is one way to make sure I never do it again....come buy her off me! otherwise riding on the road is inevitable
@LifeIsDeceiving Learn something about gaited horses before you mouth off to someone who clearly does know about them. Gaited horses have no suspension phase in their gait, such as there is in a trot or canter. There is no weight slamming down on their feet and legs because that weight is never airborne to begin with. They don't slip and fall easily. If you don't believe me, look for videos on youtube of Icelandic pony competitions. Same gait, done on ice.
@userunavailable3095 Actually the icelandic horses have studs on their shoes when they are ridden on ice. The shoes themselves don't prevent the horse from slipping on ice, but the studs does.
Secondly the fact that the whole body weight is never airborne, doesn't mean that riding on a hard surface doesn't harm the tendons. The higher the horse lifts it legs and the faster it goes, the harder the horse slams down it's hooves, which means that in the long run this will destroy it's legs.
@waldorfen1 I'll tell you what, you come look at my thirty year old who has worked on pavement all her life and tell me what is wrong with her. She is still sound and still working. We took her for a four mile drive on pavement two days ago. Her mother also worked on pavement until she died at 28. The only lameness she had was in a hind ankle from kicking the axle of a cart when she was seven. Other than that, she was perfectly sound and was still quite capable of a fast rack on pavement.

No offense but I can ride this mare with no saddle and a halter and lead rope and never bounce a lick! IN A FULL RACK! She is my wifes horse now so speed is not an issue......but thanks for the advice
I like her! She's really game! I wish I had a singlefooter--My back is fusing from arthritis, so I'd really love a gaited horse. My horse is a half arab I cannot part with because I love him--had his mother, too.

@gtstables I do agree with some of the other it 's a lot of weight being put down on asphalt but one time won't kill her.
