If you MUST have a camera light for those night out snaps then I can't argue with that. Otherwise you are sacrificing quite a few nice things, especially when considering in the UK at least the Galaxy S is less per month on most networks.
can't decide between Galaxy S or iPhone 4, I know the iPhone 4 has the more powerful A4 chip but what makes the Galaxy S just as good? I'm sure both have similar pros and cons, but I'm not sure which one to get
Wrong, the Iphone 4 A4 chip is not more powerful than the Galaxy's Hummingbird processor or the Desires Snapdragon. All phones run at 1Ghz however apple have a tendancy to underclock there phones so theres is prolly running at much less.

ARM Cortex A8 at 1 GHz processor on the samsung plus the 512MB of ram and Super AMOLED leave the iphone on the dust compare the specs over the net and if you still can't see the truth you must be a fan boy under cover trying to defend the iphone ehehehe I had an iphone and i'm glad i have move forward.
Galaxy S its like the Dad of all phones on the market atm! super cool games u can run on it, fast navigation, smooth and fast menus.. awsome and hight quality pics and videos u can take with it..! and all that with 2.1 android.! imagine with the 2.2 froyo! i absolutley lovee this phone works great.
@Rstraderftw How many people have to tell apple fanboys that the Samsung Galaxy S I9000, is better overall than the iphone 4. The iphone 4 is much more expensive en can't even properly call.
@SanXSNG Where and how it's the Desire better than the Galaxy S? Not even with the Froyo actualization. The CPU and Graphics potentials of the Galaxy S in terms of performance are a bit better than on the Desire.
cool, ive just ordered a samsung galaxy s from Vodafone UK. - The gaming looks very good on it, i just hope more and more big 3d-titles arrive for android, as this phone clearly beats ie. the iphone 4 for gaming but they have more choice, but with devices like this one - hopefully things are changing and more and more android games are arriving. Hopefully>
@chrisjackson1985 Good choice but personally I think Orange offer the better deal. You won't be disappointed tho, this phone destroys everything else. Don't even listen to those saying the Desires on the same level, trust me it's not. Some fanboy at work the other day told me I had a wannabe iphone, I just grinned and took pleasure on what he was missing out on. SUCKER!
@wowknobs I own a galaxy S and I can tell you if I was still in my uni-days when I used to take 30+ photos a week boozing on nights out the galaxy S would have been USELESS and I would not have bought it.
Seriously, be accurate. I know you have bought it, so have I, but remain objective. It's a great phone, but the desire still has plenty to offer:
- Better company
- Better controls (physical buttons with good placement)

- Metallic Chassis.
Galaxy is still ahead imo, so tell it as it is.
