Fallout 3 & new vegas have everything going for them. They are pure RPG's,, but played in a FPS view. Also, they are live strategy games, because you can set traps and funnel enemies to run over land minds. There's all different ways of taking out enemies.

NV had much more role playing aspects since practically any character build you made was useful in more ways than one. Since your character doesn't have any real back story either he/she could be any character you imagined, which added to the replay value.
The only thing F3 did better than F:NV imo was exploration and atmosphere.

Look listen up Fallout players. The story of three was for me unoriginal. Do you know why? Compare 1 and 2's story with three. Replace Dad with Water Chip. Replace Raven Rock with Oil Rig. Replace Fawkes with Marcus. Replace Eden with Master. And the super mutants (Fallout 1) Enclave (Fallout 2). Very unoriginal. 3 was turned into a shooter unlike the old games where you could play smart and talk your way out of it or just be creative.
