Okay. My dog just went into labor! What do i do? She seems like the PERFECT Motherly type! She is a Golden retriever and her name is Lillie. The vet says she will have about 7 beautiful little puppies! Do I need to help her? If so....how!? This is my dog's first litter....please respond! I'm so worried
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful event. Our 3yo Retriever is due any day now, and watching this has made us all the more prepared for this special occasion. Many thanks once again, and hopefully, fingers crossed, we may get to capture our Chelsie giving birth and share it too. Best regards.
This was so cool to watch... I just adopted a stray neighborhood cat that was pregnant. She had 5 healthy kittens and I found amazing homes for all of them :)
awww, too bad that they mean nothing and we dont have a reason to live cause an extremely random act of science made eveything, there is no creator, nothing made everything, we came from soup.can you guess what i am, an athiestic evolutionist.JK
Your female is lovely. The old style. I love her and she is doing an awsome job. I have a ltter due next week . We only have 6 that's fine with me but I have a waiting list longer than my arm. This I my Li's 2nd and last litter. I have up and coming thougth a year down the path. My best to you.
howmany puppies did she have??how long did she carry them inside her???and was this in the day or at night?? because my dog always gives birth at night from 11-3 am and an avrege of 8 puppies
I've gotta female golden retriever and Maggie's been the best dog I've ever had. My grandkids climb all over her, ride her like a horse, and she calmly takes it. She never had puppies since we had her fixed when she was 6 months old. She's 11-years-old now and is still frisky as a puppy. I absolutely love this breed!
hunny dont worrie about him talking shit i watched your hole video.. and you did a very very good job helping hr dog have her puppyies this was soo cute i almost cry they are soo cute..
We found that our girl Alley is pregnant just tonight, not planned. She is also a Golden, and is the greatest family dog! She is with us all the time, and has a fenced in backyard for when she needs to go out. I'm worried! A while back she got out of the fence and was gone for an hour or two. When we got her back home, we fixed the escape route and didn't think much of it. She is just only 12 months old next week.
Excuse me???? What do YOU know about raising puppies? NOTHING! That's Right!!! This is my professional LIVELIHOOD, so I'm 100% more knowledgeable than morons such as yourself!!!!
I get involved because it calms the bitch. I don't stop nature. I ensure healthy puppies are being born.
Go to hell and stop advertising your negativity and stupidity!!! I'm sick of people's Bullshit!
I hope my golden does this well with her first litter, although that won't be for some time yet. I think she'll be a good mum. Your goldens stunning, and clearly made for being a mummy, shes done an awesome job here. What a superstar!
I am about to breed my retriever for the first time..... I have read alot, but would be greatful of any info that u think might be useful.... thanks soooooo much for sharing
This was such a joy to watch! Thank you for sharing. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer who is expecting her first litter the end of June. I've read a lot about the delivery, but it was so helpful and reassuring to watch your video. You seem so calm and relaxed and the environment so peaceful for her. I'm sure I'll watch it again many times before we face this ourselves next month! Thank you!
Hey there. I am glad to hear my video has been helpful. I have a second video that you can watch as well of my most recent litter. It's the video response to this video. Check it out :) You might like it. And if you have any questions about whelping a litter, feel free to message me any time! I'll be here if you need :)
Thank you!! :) Clearly you're getting to be old hat at this stuff! Love the Skype idea. So, I do have a question about the placement of the whelping box. My husband and I were considering putting this in our room where her sleeping crate is, but would this be insane with the pups noise? Or would we move it after the first week or so? She has her kennel outside where she stays during the day, but she doesn't sleep there at night so I'm hesitant to put it there. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
This female in particular needed assistance a few times, which were the times I took the vid's as well. My most recent birthing needed 100% assistance.
But I weigh all my pups when they're born and so forth. I keep track of how long she is in labor, time between each puppies, the time each pup was born, weight etc, so yah, I involve myself every time.
Oh, i wasn't spraying the pups :P I use a suction ball to pull out any mucus in the mouth and nose to help them breathe better and easier, much quicker. It doesn't hurt them at all, and it is very safe.
ummm that suction ball your talking about im soon going to get a golden retriever which im excited for and when she grows up an has her first litter if its to hard to help could you give them to a vet and watch them having birth instead of you doing it but if it is kinda easy then i would do it in my house but if it kinda hard i would go to a vet place for help so which is kinda easier?
well that is just awesome! Let me know, I would love to see the video.! I'm quite thrilled actually. My next female just went into heat yesterday:) I look forward to her litter. She will have INCREDIBLY beautiful puppies!
Yes there were professionals. I myself am experienced, I had a vet on Call, and two other Professional Breeders down the road as well from me in the event I needed aid.

hi my name is sophie and i just want to say that that was so and if you are planning on having your dog have another litter because i have been looking for a golden for at least 2-3 years now or if you may be able to tell me where i could find them. Thank you
HI, if your looking for a Stud, I would recommend trying Registered breeders through CKC, UKC, AKC stuff like that. Breeders like them usually have stud services.
I have a golden retriever. I would love to mate her but this is the first time I've had a dog of my own. I've been reading a lot but I wouldn't want to put my Roxy in danger. She's four yrs old the 26th of September (in a about 30 mins+)
That is good you are being cautious, as that is very important. Be careful with your choice of a stud of you do choose to breed. Make sure you find one of a healthy bloodline, with health checks and so forth. See if you can look at the health/history records of the sire.
Reason why the other dog was there in the beginning was because Kida had her puppies quite a bit quicker than expected(by an hour or so)My estimations were pretty good, but a little off. She was in her whelping box where I had her resting, and she got up, came over on my bed and without any warning pushed out a puppy. I quickly helped her then moved her and the puppy back to the whelping box and proceeding to help her with the rest of her labor. The other dog was than placed in another room.
Cute, at 1 point a baby came out like if it was a water slide :D and 8 hours wow thats a lot

Honestly, it really depends on the female.

Caucho96 2 years ago
Her labor took about 8-12 hours. The hard labor anyway. Dogs go through 3 stages of labor. The hard labor is the most noticeable.
AngelWings3 2 years ago
Okay thanks. How much time can there be between each puppy?
JustxAnotherxCut 2 years ago
5 minutes, and up to two hours.

Her delivery took around 10 hours. The hard labor anyway.
