I just picked up my new STI today!! woohoo it's fantastic!
It's definitely a 'nicer' car than the old one. That's probably what a lot of you are complaining about. It hasn't got the same rough/tough/edginess as the old one.
But I do appreciate it's much better sound dampening. It was really nice comfortable and quiet driving back through peak our traffic tonight.
Well people won't expect it to be as fast when it looks like the Mazda 3 hatch back, So you can surprise them with it when you pull up to the stop light and burn their trash.
As awesome as the new Evo is, Subaru > Mitsubishi. Therefore, give me the keys to the STi over the Evo anyday! And God I just LOVE the classic boxer engine sound!

I think you're wrong. The new Evo smokes the new STi. Even with the semi-automatic version of the Evo it is faster than the manual STi. I read the most recent issue of Road & Track. They did a huge comparison on it. Evo's a quicker car with more functionality.

I totally agree. I picked mines up a month ago and having worked on and been around an '05 and my 2010 I definitely like the GR better!

Boxer sound is lovely, but this one sounds much less than the last version. In desperate need of a louder sports exhaust if you ask me! :-)

sti is quicker man. evo x is a heavy tank. Also i have seen car reviews where the sti was quicker and more functional.
