Our show is in Weston, Massachusetts- as part of a summer program with kids from 9th grade to those just graduating college. I think this is the best cast I've ever been in. I want to be Mr. Peanut ;)
No!.. An actual-real-adult choreographer did it. She viewed the show at the Lincoln Center [NYC] video library, to get the "flavor" of the B'way staging.
Now, "Get out of here, you NUT!" . . Have fun with this VERY romantic show!
Okay, first off, your Billy sound WAY too cheerful. He's supposed to be depressed, upset, sad, a little heartbroken, because his one true love is dancing with some other guy, a total smeghead at that. And second, your vowels are flatter than a pancake, which has the same effect on your tone and your notes.
Sorry about being so critical. If you want to yell at someone, though, yell at my music teachers. They've been preaching about this sort of sturr since middle school.
I feel that Bill's attitude is one mixed with admiration for Rita and envy of Mick. He's not so "cheerful" as he is optimistically enthusiastic. As far as his pronunciation.. he originally sang with a stiff "choral choir" sound, but we wanted him to be more of a "regular" guy, so we worked on loosening his style. He's singing in a musical, not a church.
Cool. We've had a few problems with a few sticking too close to what they're taught in the classroom (or church choir room). It's important that you sing with the right vowel space and all that stuff, but you have to put some of yourself into your voice. Out of curiosity, how did you upload this vid? I have a few that I wish I could upload, but I'm computer challenged.
Uhhh. What a question! -How to upload to youtube!! First, the video file should be saved on your computer in any form. Then you need software to convert it to a format recognized by youtube. [I use .mpg.] You need a geek sitting next to you to lead you thru it. Can't ya find one? We're hiding everywhere!
I know how to get it from your computer to youtube. Sort of. But how do you get it onto your computer in the first place? Can you upload it from a disc?
Instead of PLAYING the DVD on your computer, you should OPEN the disc to show its FOLDERS. The video folder has vob files in it which must be converted to another format, typically of smaller size, so you need some kind of editing software to pick just the stuff you want, then do the conversion. That's why I said, "Find a geek." Sorry for talking in circles, but its something you have to DO. It's very difficult to write instruction without knowing what programs are on your computer.

I love this show.
I'm so excited, because I'm working on it now. It's really interesting to see the contrast between our two shows.
OF COURSE you cut off right before the Shag *grr*

No problem. Be critical.. and don't apologize!
