How is Whitney a better all-round singer? Her voice is so two dimensional and has no substance whatsoever.
Mariah's voice is unique, much more passionate, and not mention much easier on the ears.
Whitney will NEVER EVER compare to Mariah in terms of talent. Just listen to Mariah's debut performance of Love Takes Time and compare it to Whitney's best, which could never compare. @dorker1992 i disagree, whitney had her moments like i will always love you, but that's pretty much it. if you listen to when you believe mariah belts the same note much harder. also whitney always had problems with breathing, a lot of the notes she supposedly belted were just doubled, any of her live performances could tell you that.
and if you listen to mariah's through the rain or whenever you call you can hear just how good she is.

One Sweet Day is a duet written by Mariah and Boys2Men she SHARES that title and yes its on her album BUT it is ALSO on theirs. So say longest run for a DUET not solo artist..Whitney holds that title and having 5 octave's is NOT a record she is not the first or only artist that does that she is the ONLY artist that does it ALL the fuckin time so scratch 2,4, and 6 u dont have a 5 so that leaves u with two 1,and 3 I dont know where u get #3 from but guess what u can have it lol u really need it

That is YOUR truth and not FACT the only people that share your OPINION's about Mariah r u and her fans NONE of which r in any of the record book....Whitney's however I got those facts from RIAA,Guiness Book,Billboard and Rolling Stone ALSO let me put this out and its not my opinion 100 Greatest singers of all time Whitney is in the top 40 (I think she should be higher) Mariah isnt even in the top 50 (I feel she also should be higher) now thats not my list its from Rollingstone and Billboard

@theclient2k mariah is 17th best selling according to RIAA whitney is 20th,. with 63 and 55 million albums sold. rolling stone is there list who cares what they think,.

@enzyme20056 actually the exact opposite Whitney's 1st album hit n#1 1 year after its release then lasted another year thats a 2 yr stretch one 1 album the 2nd album released in June 87 that album lasted 3 yrs last single being Love Will Save The Day then she did the single for the special olympics who could forget One Moment In Time and Im Your Baby tonight being released in 1990 and she was still racking up awards from the previous album check the facts please I beg you then get back to me
