  • probably the best song to drive to on a rainy night.

  • Brings back nice memories. I saw him in Houston the night before/after/, not sure. Great great show. After not touring for Pictures at Eleven, the anticipation made it all the sweeter. Smart move, though. He needed enough songs for a whole set, and there's no way in hell he was ever going to play any Zep.

  • For me this the best version I have heard of the best RP song there is. Phil belting out extra fills all over the place. A powerful rendition. I SO wish I had been there..

  • I love all the colors....GREAT images as always David

    Happy Birthday, Robert :)

  • bet i am the only 15 year old watching this.. :D

  • che schifo!

  • OMG!! WHY was this night in Texas NOT Video-recorded PEOPLE!?!?!? Sweet Phil on the skins,Plant with his magical voice, could it POSSIBLY get ANY BETTER??

  • @menom7 It could not get any better. Period.

  • @priority44 AGREED 110%!!

  • I would have loved to see this tour with Phil on drums. Was this tour ever released on DVD?

  • @elusive1970 No it never was. I was there that night! Incredible show! Wish they had done a dvd as well. There is bootleg audio with about half this show on it. Sure this song came from it. The 85' tour in Dallas was just as good. Kill to have them both on dvd!

  • @65boogerbutt I wonder if it's available in cd format in some bootleg record store. It was a pretty big tour, with fans of Plant and Collins SOMEONE must have something recorded from this tour.

  • @elusive1970 There IS! I remember KLOS used to play concerts at 11 at night. It was part of the Westwood One radio series! Then briefly KLSX had King Biscuit. I remember hearing this tour on there. The golden age of rock radio. now its just garbage. Thank heaven for satellite radio!

  • im in the mood for a melody im in moooood

  • I remember the first time I heard this live version was on Dallas radio Q102 in fall of 85

  • I was there that night in Dallas! Incredible show. No Zep stuff...didn't need too. Played almost the entire 2 first solo lps. Man I wish I had a dvd of that show! 85' as well!

  • Yep! That larger then life drum sound must be Phil Collins

  • If you ever wanted to be a one in 25,000 kinda guy, just hit dislike...

  • so it was the Shakn' and Stirred that i listened to during the mid 80's.This is one I wish i'd had kept.thank you for posting.Peace~

  • FUK YES!!!! BEST ROBERT PLANT SONG WITHOUT LED ZEPP EVER!!!

  • I spy one ass

  • Pretty neat,I was at this show at Reunion Arena!

Tickets were 12 bucks thenhad no idea I'd ever hear it again.Half way through the performance someone lit a firecracker and Robert Plant got upset teliing them (politely) to not do that again cause someone might get hurt.....and it was loud!!!

  • WHY in the bloody-hell,was THE SHOWS in TEXAS that year,NOT FILMED by anyone?? OMG........the DRUMS and BASS on this tune back then was freakin AWESOME!! TOO BAD we'll NEVER get to SEE IT with our own two eyes!!

  • Right on,been a while since I've heard that tune!

  • I could not ask for more! Great music. Gets me in the mood!

  • Plant introduced me to the good rock music

  • I love that he sticks to the melody (sings in the original key) and sounds just as good studio as he does live.

  • great song, I have never seen zeppelin but to me this was close enough.

  • thank you, Robert Plant, for traversing the 80s with art and style!

  • Plant avoided performing Led Zeppelin songs through much of this period, his tours in 1983 (with superstar drummer Phil Collins) and 1985 were very successful, often performing to sold-out arena-sized venues.

Without a doubt those are Phils' single headed concert toms which are his trade mark, nobody uses them anymore. Anyone know if a video exists? Thanks

  • @BaDeeRich people should start using them again, everything today sounds so cold and....well digital, guitars, drums, bass and vocals, no vibrance anymore in the fidelity of music, it's all too perfect sounding today, no ambience of those types of tom toms, dry vocals and boring guitar riffs is what we get today.

  • My name is Melodie, this has been a fave since 1983!

  • sensational

  • the full album is a great work (full of nice sourprise) & good master sound!!

  • No Fucking way .. this is not Phil Collins .. it's Roger Taylor from Queen.. he was touring with Plant during this time.. I have this vinil album

  • @stigmaweb Robert Plant - vocals

    Robbie Blunt - guitars

    Jezz Woodroffe - keyboards

    Paul Martinez - bass guitar

    Phil Collins - drums

Bob Mayo - guitars and keyboards

  • To mattehwmi, Plant toured the US in late August 1983 through September. I saw him 24 September in Denver and yes, Phil Collins was the drummer. Collins played on both Pictures At Eleven and The Principle Of Moments, Plant's two solo albums... Cozy Powell and Barriemore Barlow also played on those albums, Powell on Slow Dancer and Like I've Never Been Gone from Pictures and Barlow on Messin' With The Mekon and Horizontal Departure on Moments...

  • one of the coolest cats ever born

  • I have very fond memories of my college days in Florida and this was the time and the music...

  • is it just me, or is this just one of the best songs everrrr

  • @crispmom yeah

  • @crispmom It is my favorite song in the world if that counts for anything :P

Ill always have so many great memories of so many kickass concerts there.

  • Phil Collins on Drums too

  • @Jamison42166 Ya know I don't know if Collins ever toured with Plant. If this was 1983 he was touring with Genesis at this time. Can you verify? I mean it sure sounds like him. Let me know. Thanks, Matt

  • @Jamison42166 Yeah, so obviously PC on drums.... You could pick him out of a crowd of thousands....

  • @Jamison42166 Phil was an amazing percussionist - folks tend to overlook it these days, but I still can pick out songs where he is involved in the production - the style is so distinctive....

  • sensational

  • such a lovely dreamy song, nice to hear it done a little differently than the studio version

  • @SupernalOne "such a lovely dreamy song, nice to hear it done a little differently than the studio version"

Yeah, this is great, really fresh and magical. Better than the studio version, imo.
